I swear everytime I leave to do trivial things like work and play with my kids, you people just post like crazy  I may need to quit my job so I can stay caught up.

I just got our finalized reservations from the CL. They have been so helpful, now all I need to do is start packing.

One more rookie question, what do people wear at dinner at Bomas and Ohanas? Just trying to pack light

I couldn't find if anyone answered this one!

Anna....the CR's CL email is wdw.contemporary.concierge@disney.com

Majestic....THANKS for the great IP info!thank you! thank you! thank you!:wave2:

sojo33...LOL on this thread! I was gone for three days and there's sooo much to read!
Dinner at Bomas and Ohanas...we like dressy casual, ie, sundress, shorts with polo shirt or new WDW tee...LOL!:earsboy:
To be honest, I've seen all types of casual at WDW, so don't worry!
and glad to see that CL helped you with your reservations, PSs.
We'll be sending you off soon, also!

Thanks BT. I really wish we were going to be criss crossing on our stays, but maybe next time. I think we need to plan a big ole lounge party. Or maybe you can hostess a Texas Dis meet like Fred's NJ Dis meet. Of course out of state guests would be welcome.

I think it has been asked before, but how many goodies should I bring for the wonderful CLs at AKL. I have been working with 3 different ones, but I would hate to leave anyone out. Also, I still can't decide what to bring. Suggestions are welcome.

I sent Sue and Andrea at IPO some cotton One size fits Most sleeper tees with matching socks. Sue's got Doggies on hers, because she just got a puppy a couple of weeks ago!

How bout a stuffed playtoy for her new puppy?

Also, big FYI...Sue will be having a hip replacement on June 21st, so I'm trying to find out her last day at work, to have something else sent to her.

As for the rest of the CL CMs, I'm leaning towards Chili/Macaroni Grill gift certificates. I've had a couple of CMs tell me that they love to eat at those places when they're not at their WDW jobs!
You can get $5, $10. $20. gift certificates.

also, after talking with these wonderful folks, I've learned they do not make that much $$$$ working in the CL.....
One would think they would, but they make between $8-10 hourly. So, little things like gift certificates, at restaurants and even WalMart, helps these wonderful CMs and lets them know how much they are appreciated for the extra pixie dust they give!

hehehehe! methinks we should have a LOUNGE LIZARD trip and MEET at WDW!

Thanks for the great ideas. I have become a big gift certificate fan. My first grade son got invited to a fourth grader's birthday party and we ended up getting him a gift certificate to Walmart, because I didn't have a clue what to get him. He made a big fuss over how much he liked it because now he could pick what he wanted. Also, I can buy extras and if I don't use them I can use those for friends and family gifts later.

Good Morning Lounge Lizards !!!

BT ... great idea regarding the gift certificates... I will have to pick some up! Thanks! Also, thanks for the email address!

To everyone who is close to their magical get-aways... Have a wonderful time and tell us all about it when you get back!

Good Morning!! Welcome home BT and Elisabeth!
The time is mooovvvinngg soooo slowwwww. Hopefully it will move this slow while we are on vacation!
Gift certificates are a great idea. I was thinking about sending treats from Harry and David before we got there, but I am sure they get lots of edibles!
Majestic--let's hear your thoughts on the Poly, we leave soon and any tips or advice would be appreciated. Did you run into Floridafam?
luckywife--I am so glad it worked out with your dad! Maybe we will see you in the lounge! We are arriving around noon-ish on the 4th.
Tinkerbeck--there are six of us in our party (one in a crib), so we needed two rooms or to stay in a deluxe. We work very hard (have our own business) and when we take the time to vacation, we like to do it right! We did get to apply a discount code to our reservation, so that helped too.
BT--we are very grateful for everything we have. We were coming home on Sunday night from the movies (Shrek 2 rocked) and someone rear ended us as we were turning in to our house, with three kids in the backseat! Luckily we were in the Mercedes, because it probably saved my son's life. You know what my husband said? At least no one was hurt, that's all I care about. He's a keeper:teeth:

Oh no goodferry! That's just terrible about the accident you and your family were in. SO glad to hear that everyone is ok and that no one was hurt. Your DH is exactly right, at least no one was hurt. He sounds like a real gem! ::yes:: Certain things can be easily replaced but our children/families/friends are the real treasures in life, true gifts from God.

Hello Lounge Lizards!

I have been lurking on these boards & getting great ideas for our latest WDW trip in 14 days. Thanks to you we are doing two concierge lounges--Poly Lvc 6/10-14 and AKL 6/14-16. We are doing our 1st 2 nights BWI always wanted to stay there but not concierge--yet--may change my mind at check in! All three are new to us and concierge we did for "Grand" Honeymoon 7 years ago, but really didn't take advantage since we were on the full meal plan and basically rolled out of there! This is also our longest trip --started with 1 night when our 1st was 14 months, then 2 nights for 2 trips, then 3 nights, now 8! Not sure how I talked hubby into it. He knows about poly concierge, but I have kept zipped about AK concierge and am surprising him with Sunset Safari as an early anniversary present (tried to do trip to coincide w/anniversary but had a conference). I am very excited after reading all the info on these two resorts as I never saw the appeal of either--until I had kids! This has been a wonderful place for me to "get my fix" since hubby just doesn't get it. He loves it when we're there and thankfully indulges me but I don't know if he'd pick this on his own. Of course, now with the concierge stay he may change his mind (GF 2 years ago with my parents was much less than magical). Enough rambling, just wanted to thank you all for the tips. Oh, we sent Melissa and Sue cookie tins from a local bakery which seemed to be appreciated and when we are there we will bring Bravo/Brio restaurant gift certificates since hubby is a District Partner for them. Any one know about how many people we should keep in mind for thanking? Also, will anyone else be there when we are? I will be the one enjoying a glass of wine while trying to wind down my 2 1/2 and 5 1/2 yo wild boys!

Lisa

lindeyspol - sounds like you have one great vacation planned!
I can't really help you out with your question though, since I am still trying to figure out the thank you gifts myself. ;) BambiTamby gave me the idea of gift cards, which I think is great. Now I just have to find out how many people to give them to. Hope you and your family have a super trip!

I will be at Polynesian during your visit--arriving on 6/10. I believe BT will also be visiting during your Polynesian stay. Goodferry will be leaving the day we are arriving--at least I think??? She'll correct me if I'm wrong. . .

There could well be others. Our family is photographed in my sig--if you see us, speak up! BTW, the blond boy will not be along this trip--he's our nephew and tagged along last year. The two older kids are mine! ;)

Hey Majestic thanks for the info. I'll check them out.

I know Disney has places where you can send an email, but I thought I might want to check into the Lounge here and see how all the Lizards are doing.

Bambi - Thanks for sending along these ideas for showing our apprecitation to the CMs who take such good care of us.

Bambi - Now that is a WONDERFUL idea!::yes::

I think BT is right - We need a DIS meet at WDW!!!! :teeth:

Once again, buried at work and I'm so glad I can "escape" here. I'm surprised I even have one strand of hair left in my head after this morning. The word "STRESS" is coming to mind. I have quite a few more days of this before I fly off to the world!!! I live through your posts so keep your trip reports coming. It calms my nerves & puts me in happy mode, which is a lot better than stress mode.

ead79 - Glad to hear work is treating you good. Plus you get to see other places. If you make it to VA one day, give me a "holler!"

Goodferry - I'm so glad your family wasn't hurt in the accident. I firmly believe angels  are watching over us. I bet mine is out of breath and wanting to pop me on the head while screaming "SLOW DOWN."

Luckywife - JUST 3 MORE DAYS......:teeth:

I never thought of gift certificates for CM's. That was a really cool idea! BT - Sue's last day is the day before you arrive at AKL. She is disappointed that she wouldn't be there when you checked in. You are just missing her by ONE day!!!! I have a feeling you'll be by to say hello to her before she leaves :D.

Steveanddonna - Congrats on your August trip! Who cares about the heat when you are at WDW!? Plus, if you are going to be part-time FL resident, you need to start building up your tolerance - LOL!

:grouphug:  - Hugs & Hellos to all ya'll!!

Hi everyone,

We are now at Vero Beach. Wilderness Lodge was nice. Upgraded to the Yosemite Suite for 2 of the 4 nights.

Wait until you hear about the dinner party Janet2k had. AMAZING!! I'll do a full trip report later.

:sunny:

Oh goodness, I feel bad now. I have never given gifts to the CL staff, and I so wish I had. I will have to remember to get them a little something on my next visit.

You guys have also inspired me to perhaps use the IPO staff a bit more. I guess I worry too much about being a "pain" by contacting them too often. I usually just ask for PS's and that's it, but I think I might see what else I can arrange through them for our next visit to the World. It sounds like they have some really great ideas! I would love to get a plate of chocolate covered strawberries sent to our room one night, do you think that would be possible (I would pay, of course!)?

goodferry, I am so glad to hear that your family wasn't injured in your wreck! How frightening!

Got to meet Majestic on our trip. Hi Fred!

DH finished the Florida Half Ironman. It was really HOT for our entire stay.

Jack in Concierge was amazing and so was the Manager, Mark.
