Need some help from all my LL buddies!! Trying to get some feedback on stretch Limo services-esp. Happy Limo. Anyone used them-can't seem to get any answers on the Trans. thread!

BTW-coffee's ready! Good and strong this morning (I sure can use it).

We've never used Happy Limo before. We did utilize the stretch limo from the service that shall not be named on the DIS -- Your Ride (not the correct spelling, but necessary to avoid ********s). ;) Jim was our driver and he was super--really talkative though which is okay with my husband since he's a "networker" and loves to chat people up.

I've heard good and bad about Happy Limo on the boards. In fact, I've seen good and bad written about nearly every limo service, including the Transportation Board sponsor. I'm beginning to think it's just luck of the day whether or not the service is exceptional or toilet worthy.

We've never really had a complaint about any service we've used--TTC and/or Your Ride. Some drivers were more friendly than others, some rides better than others, but basically no complaints.

annamonte-- I have been keeping this secret since November!!It's so hard sometimes, especially when they are sad (we had a close family friend die) or hurt. My motivation is partially that I can't wait to see the look on their face when we arrive at the airport and partially I don't want to deal with "Is it time yet, is it time yet, is it time yet..."
Tess--I have been wondering this, so I will ask you. What's with the name that shall not be spoken thing? Why is that? I don't even know who it is, just curious.
We booked FL Tours, hopefully it works out.

what are these postcards i keep reading about and how do you get them?
Tinkerbeck- we've gotten "Come Back" postcards, which are randomly sent to guests who've previously stayed at Disney resorts, and Amex postcards (when Amex was the official credit card of WDW). We also have received postcards for specific resorts when they've opened, like AKL and CSR, though I have idea why we get them and others don't. Guess we're extra lucky!

goodferry you are an awesome secret-keeper!

Thanks for the coffee mom_rules! Just what I needed to start my morning!

I'm not sure of all the ins and outs or the politics involved in the banishment of Your Ride from the boards. From what I've gleaned through others' posts, someone at Your Ride was either soliciting folks on the DIS or spamming them with advertisements. I don't know if it was the prior owner, the newer owner or just an employee. Either way, it is against board policy and the company was banished to cyberspace for the faux pas. I know at one point this company was the Transportation Board sponsor--not sure if that played into the decision either--nor do I care.

I know many years ago I was "spammed" with e-mail by Happy Limo--I reported it to the DIS since at the time it was the only way I could have been contacted by HL. The spamming stopped. I'm not sure if HL is also banned from the boards or not. I don't venture over to Transportation all that often.

The Transportation Board has many suspicious characters that post one or two times with names that aren't familiar--it seems fairly obvious that it is a particular business posting "glowing" reports to gain or attract business.

Anyway, that's the story on "the limo company that shall not be named"! Queue the HM or ToT music. . . bwaaahaaahaaahaaaaha!

I am considering doing the Princess Tea at the GF, has anyone else done this before?

Goodferry- we were in the pilot last October (sounds like Janet2K was too! :D ) and it was wuuuunnnerful. I went with a few friends of mine, and a friend of DD's and we had a blast. DD still plays with her doll (although I've been warned by Disney that the outfit that is provided is a 'collectible' - I thought it was the standard one offered for sale - it's the Princess Aurora dress) and we got a lot of other goodies to boot. The woman playing "Princess Rose Petal" is a *great* actress and really got the girls (and the parents) going. I *highly* recommend the event. I thought it was going to be a hokey, overstuffed gig, however, they taught the girls a wonderful story of courage, kindness, and bravery, and it was just amazing. My run-amok tomboy was enthralled (as was the cynical me.)

The *neatest* thing happened too, and when I did the post-event interview, could not get them to tell me how they did this (or IF they did this) was when Rose Petal was building the story about Briar Rose right before her entrance, a light breeze kicked up in the room, and a light scent of roses filled the room. It was amazing, as it was also part of the story.

The girls also presented the Moms with the most gorgeous pink-tinged peach roses; I was told it was grown especially for the Grand Floridian. The tea cup and saucer the girls get is a miniature of the GF china, as well. Utterly adorable!

I have pictures too, if I could only find the time to upload them!! :D

Hi everyone,

I'm still lurking here in the shadows...Maybe someday I'll come out from this shell that I call home, and join you all for a pina colada and some Krispy Cremes... I'll buy of course!

Floridafam... I was wondering if you asked to change rooms or did the WL CL offer you the upgrade? Sorry for being so nosey but you pique my intrest!!!

Is it a good idea for me to contact the WL IPO @ about 100 days out if they haven't contacted me? I have some breakfasts and show to reserve? ( I think someone asked this before)

Good morning folks! Thanks for such a WONDERFUL thread! I have been lurking for quite a while (even made a few posts way back).

Steveanddonna....it looks like we will be at the Poly at the same time as you. We will be staying GVC. I am sure that we will see you folks in the lounge!

Thanks for the update on Limos-we used FLTours our last trip (van service) and really liked them-we were looking for a stretch limo this time around and the reasons we didn't go with FLTours was they never answered any of my emails requesting quotes and the $ I got online was way more expensive than some of the other services.

Good morning all! :)
Our trip is ALMOST here. I've started packing, but not finished yet since DS had a check-up with the doctor yesterday and then had to have a chest x-ray at the hospital. Doctor's office just called and said the x-ray showed he is improving but will have to have another one in a month. Looks like he'll be healthy enough to really enjoy his first visit to The World.

One question....do the CL rooms at the Poly have irons and ironing boards? I bought a shirt that wrinkles like crazy so I need to know if we should bring our own iron. Thanks.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Luckywife... can't answer about the Poly and irons....never been.

But, I wanted to say how happy I was to hear that DS has improved! All the more reason to go to Disney!!! :D

Just running thru the lounge to pick up a quick coffee, thanks mom_rules!

luckywife....Yes, there's an iron and board in the rooms!
And if i don't "see" you before you leave....

Have a wonderful and safe trip!!!

Enjoy this precious time with your little "man" ;) as they grow up so fast! I remember my DS' first WDW trip!sniff! sniff!

Someone please PM me a number for a stretch limo.
thanks!:wave2:

Have a wonderul DISney day, lizards!

We used Happy Limo in December and it was a mixed bag. Overall they were ok. The car provided was great it was a white stretch with a fiber optic roof, that the lights seemed to move randomly.
Now as a disclaimer the bad is not necessarily thier fault. I just think they had 2 many people stirring the pot.
Ok first off we got stuck for 2 days in Providence due to that big December storm last year. We had left a day early to go to the hotel at the airport as we new the storm was coming. Anyway even being on airport the flight was canceled. I had a pickup from Happy at noon at MCO/ I called at 3am and spoke to them and advised of my cancelation and the new flight information. I was told because I had rescheduled I could get my grocery stop. (If your are simply late/delayed you do not.) During the course of the day they called my cell twice to see why I wasn't at MCO/ UUUUMMmm I am knee deep in snow in Providence. I called you at 3am? Oh yes, we see never mind. One hour later another call you never showed this is non refundable. Now I am worried. I figured we would end up in a cab. But on arrival they had gotten it together and when I got to baggage I called thier number provided and he came around. We had to take the bags ourselves out to the curb. It is now midnight. We did not get our grocery stop as he quoted the you were delayed thing, you do not get it. I was too tired to argue. So I let it go. We were dropped off at the Boardwalk and that was that. When I recieved my Visa, I had been charged once for the ride and a random 72 dollars... Noone could tell me what the charge was or explain or credit back. I was told to call back maybe 4 times. Finnally a month later. I was credited back the second charge. So I am not sure would I use them again??? I honestly at this point think they were a little confused. But on the other hand they did come through in the end.

inthemood,

We checked in a day early. They said the YS suite was only available for one night so I didn't do anything. We were originally in 7042-wonderful view of the castle but a lot of noise and bunk beds-DD wouldn't sleep on the bunk bed.

The next day, our original ressie started. The YS suite was available for 2 nights so we took it. DH enjoyed the big tub and seperate sleeping area. He kept his bike and most of his equipment out on the balcony. I did pay for the upgrade.

I wouldn't pay for the YS suite again. It was very nice but starting to get old. The view from the balcony was amazing. You can actually see Fort Wilderness from the Presidential Suite-which would have been better for us.

On our last night, we moved back to a regular concierge room. 7117-2 queen beds.

We enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the grown men walking around the concierge lounge in their robes with their underwear hanging out. Can't complain about free entertainment. :teeth:

Sunday evening DH had enough strength to go with us to Janet2k's dinner party. It was AWESOME. Truly an evening we will never forget!

ROTFL! :rotfl: Thanks for the great laugh this morning, floridafam!!!!

And I can't wait to hear more about Janet's dinner party!

Also.....thanks for the YS update.:wave2:

twinmomplus2new...thanks for the "Happy" report!
Looks like FL tours again, as they take cash and we've never had a problem with them.

inthemood...HI! good to see ya here!

BambiTamby,

Heading out to the pool at Vero Beach.

I think you've made the right decision regarding your trip next month. The YS suite is nice but there are suites at WDW that are more "grand."

We also had an ant problem the night before we checked out in the YS suite.

We had a great time and it was fun seeing all of the athletes and their bikes.

 :sunny:

Guys,

I just got some devasting news. My mom is in the hospital and her doctor just called and said that she didn't respond to some of the meds that they gave her last night and they were gonna try some different meds for a couple of days and if she doesn't respond they will put her on the heart transplant list.

I know that prayer changes things so me and my family have to trust God.

Please send prayers and good thoughts and whatever else you have to my mom Francine over the next couple of days.

Thanks!

Oh my gosh, Tammy. I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I will definitely keep her (and you) in my thoughts and prayers.
I truly believe in the power of prayer and know that God will help you and your family find the strength you need during this difficult time. Best wishes to you!

Did I mention that today is my birthday. It sure doesn't feel very happy. I haven't even told my family yet. One of my friends at work is taking me out to lunch. I have NO appetite. I know that God is able.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! It's so nice to have a place with such nice people who will indulge my incessant planning. Hubby just doesn't get it!

sojo33-- we will be at the AKL from 6/14-16 so I don't know if you will still be there or not. Love to see you if you are. Hubby has no info on concierge there so he doesn't even know about safaris so it will be total surprise. I think we go on the 14th (1st night) so I won't have to keep the secret too long. We'll probably try the sunrise next time. Kept changing my mind and finally decided kids would behave better and be more interested next trip. Besides, this way we'll be able to enjoy our meal at Jiko.

Tess--sounds like we will definitely run into you and your family. We are so excited to try this resort thanks to tikiman and these boards. My dad and 12 yo brother will be joining us for our 1st 2 nights so should be interesting! Looks like you are a buckeye. I was the black sheep and went to Ohio University--aka Harvard on the Hocking--. Can't complain, met my hubby there but no football fanatics either!

I still need to book our transportation. Has anyone used transportation2disney? They seem very friendly but we usually drive over from inlaws place in Sarasota so we are new to this. We currently arrive at midnight but can call Delta 3 hrs prior to a flight to get on earlier so we need someone who can accomodate possible changes. Any input is appreciated.

Oh, Fred thanks for the who's going info. Still haven't tried the WL (except for character breakfast at Artist Point on honeymoon 7 yrs ago!) Since we're already doing 3 new ones this time maybe next time. Although we are thinking of doing lunch at Whispering Canyon with our boys 5 and 2 and my brother 12. Seems like a manly sort of place and I couldn't talk them into CRT!

Everyone--thanks, thanks, thanks again for the warm welcome!!

13 days till go!

Lisa
