Forgive me I'm sure this has been asked before in ths HUGE thread! LOL But we are debating between Contemporary Tower Club(dh and ds like this one)and Poly(mommy and other ds like this one)conceirge. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of each?

Thanks so much!!:earsgirl:

Fred - try not to exhaust yourself right before your vacation! Good news about the baby!:flower:

marymrg - I hate to contradict VAgal( ) but when we stayed at both the Poly and AKL CL last month, we did not have to relinquish our keys, just as you get to keep your key-card for a std. room, I got to keep mine. At AKL, the cm (Laura, wonderful woman!) asked when our flight was, and she said we were welcome to continue to use the lounge until our flight. She stated that, although the room key would no longer open the room door, it would still allow access to the 6th floor lounge.:sunny:

annamonte - I'm looking at my GF map, and Sugar Loaf is quite near the back entrance of the Main bldg., very near Gasparilla Grill & Games. I don't know about the offerings at SL, as we stayed in a std. room, hopefully someone will be along to answer your questions!:wave2:

dsnylndmom - What can I say about the Poly CL?! They are fantastic! The location of the Hawaii bldg. is perfect, the view of the castle from the lounge, and the LV rooms, is spectacular, the food offerings are plentiful and delicious, the cm's are charming, I can't think of anything negative about it!! Well, you have to leave eventually!

GoofyJoofy - Thumbs up on that counter!!:teeth:

k&a&c'smom - Great news about lounge privileges! I would've thought once you check out that was pretty much it unless you were using the pool and so forth. I'm glad I'm wrong!!! :teeth: I hate to request late check out unless it's absolutely necessary if you know what I mean.

VAgal76 - Hey!:teeth: Yes, I know exactly what you mean, I've requested late check-out once, at the BC. But I hate to make someone wait for that room, ya know?! I have no idea about other CL lounges, but this is what I was told at AKL!!:Pinkbounc Are you getting excited about your trip?! I know I am, and it's over 2 months away!

I'm nearing that 30 day mark so I'm really getting antsy! :teeth: My DH & co-workers can't wait until that trip gets here...I guess you can say I'm a "little" excited - LOL! :teeth:

The Doctor just called.

Devin, our DS, does NOT have Cystic Fibrosis!

The test was normal. I'm in tears. Just called DH-he's in tears.

I'm so relieved. THANK YOU for your prayers! They worked.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!:sunny:

Floridafam - THAT'S WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!!!! You guys have a great trip - you all deserve it! :teeth: ::yes::

Floridafam-I am so happy you got good news, now have a great time in Disney!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Fred and steveanddonna--have great trips, hope Poly concierge is everything we have heard it is!

I did finally hear from IPO today, they have my itinerary straight. My counter is going down, but it's sooo slowwwwwww.:teeth:

Woody I can't find your trip report, where did it go??? I thought I saw it here a little while ago. Did you have a great time? Did the kids co-operate?

CONGRATULATIONS Floridafam! This is really great news - I hope you have 10 days of worry-free excitement anticipating your WDW trip!

Ditto what k&a&c'smom said about using the loung after check-out. This is how it has worked for us at the Poly as well. CL CMs have even kept DH's laptop locked up for him, and suggested using the bathroom on 3rd floor to freshen up before departing. We've never had to relinquish our resort keycards; they always go in our scrapbooks.

Great news about the baby, Fred. we'll keep our fingers crossed for a little y-chromosome action there. Enjoy your trip & the wedding.

Welcome back, WoodysRoundup!

See you all when we return!

OK I've only stayed at the Poly and love it so I'm a bit biased but since you want to stay there here's a couple of things to tell DH & DS:
It's a great convenience that not only can you take monorail to MK but you can also walk to TTC from Poly and take direct monorail to Epcot. (On the other hand you can walk to MK from CR).

The volcano pool is great!

The beach is so relaxing and music and tiki torches just make the Poly so magical.

The rooms are bigger.

Dinner at Ohanas can't be beat!

Don't know how old your kids are but the CR does have a great Food & Fun Center. I haven't visited the arcade at the Poly so I can't compare.

Floridafam-what great news about your DS! Have a wonderful celebration trip. Sounds like you really need it!

Fred-glad to hear that baby is doing well. I have to agree that its probably a girl. My 2 girls were very shy but the boy was very eager to show us what he had! And having been to Disney twice pregnant have to 2nd the advice on lots of water. An afternoon nap is good too!

Thanks for well wishes for DD. She couldn't keep medicine down last night and had a temp of 100 but she's finally getting better now and coloring.

WOO HOOOO! That is great news, Floridafam! I am so happy to hear that everything is A- OK!

Club level lounges>> You can use them during your check out day. They are a great place to have that last glass of ice tea and reflect upon the wonderful trip, right before you get in the town car and leave for the airport!

I set out celebration goodies for everyone! Make sure Floridafam's DS gets two of everything! :)

Here goes again! I'm not sure where my original post went so I'll try to remember it all!

We got back this afternoon - the kids were great. They had their moments  , but were mostly GREAT!!!

Let me start this out by saying that I am an easy to please person. I rarely complain. To each his/her own...the WL just wasn't for me. That's why there's a resort to suit everyone's style. We arrived late at the lodge so we checked in, freshened up, and headed to our PS's for Whispering Canyon. The food was average at best and the service was absolutely horrible. In addition, I'd heard it was so great for kids. Aside from one pony stick race, there was no other interraction with the staff and our table (as well as the table next to us). We went back to the room after dinner. We just didn't care for it. I'd heard the rooms were smaller, but they were just TOO small, really small. The decor is so dark and the room had a musty smell. When we turned on the bath water, black water came out. The towels were rough and the kleenex was like sand paper. These are things I wouldn't normally notice but they were that bad IMO. If I were at a value hotel, that would be fine, but not at a deluxe property. The couple across the hall screamed at each other all night and all morning. We heard slamming doors all over the floor all night. Needless to say, we got very little sleep. There must have been some plumbing problem in a nearby room b/c we heard the sound of whistling any time there was running water. The evening snacks were brownies and cookies - not impressive. Mom also noticed two ladies fingering many of the brownies and then put them back on the tray. ICK! The breakfast selections were also quite lacking. It didn't feel like CL to me. It just felt like a little snack table set up in a corridor. At 7am on Sat., I called CRO hoping to get a room at CR tower. They were SOLD OUT! :( I was able to obtain a lodge tower room at Sugar Loaf at GF. It was HEAVENLY. The atmosphere was light, bright, clean, beautiful, etc. The staff were just awesome and the food offerings were wonderful. If we're able to afford it, I'm not sure we'll stay anywhere else - aside from CR! Okay, and AKL when the kids are a little older? Gotta say, I just love those monorail resorts though.

On our first night, DH sent beautiful Mother;s Day flowers to our room. I also arranged for a Mickey Mother's Day card for Mom. The following day, I had private dining bring 1 dozen hand dipped choc. covered strawberries on a silver tray for Mom. The server even sang her a song. The wonderful staff at CL arranged this for me. IMO, Sugar Loaf was just more of what I assume concierge should be like. If anyone has ques., I'd be happy to answer.

BTW....forgot to mention that we waited as THREE boats to MK came and went while at WL. By the time they arrived at WL, they were already mostly full. Again, for a deluxe property, I think that's unacceptable.

We had a fantastic time all in all. The trip was (too) short but sweet. Can't wait for our 7 night stay in Dec.! WL is a wonderfully themed resort. It just wasn't for us, and it wasn't what I'd pictured from the CL perspective.

CONGRATS to Elisabeth on the job!!! :Pinkbounc And, HELLO and thanks for the "welcome homes" from everyone else!!!

Now I will finish the dishes, bills, and laundry. YUCK!!!! I miss that room already!!!!! :( :( :( :( :( :( :(;)

OMG!!!! Congrats Floridafam-I am so relieved for you and yours. What a terrible feeling it is not knowing. Have a great trip!

Can someone give me a quick rundown on BW Garden view concierge-I've almost got the Family convinced of one more trip!!
Also, what is the difference between concierge and concierge deluxe (other than about $50 per night)?

Thank you everyone. We are thrilled.

Than you for all of your thoughts and prayers.

We can't wait to go on vacation!

WoodysRoundup,

I'm sorry you experienced some trouble at WL. How were the CM's?

I'm glad it all worked out. :(
