annamonte - I'm looking at my GF map, and Sugar Loaf is quite near the back entrance of the Main bldg., very near Gasparilla Grill & Games. I don't know about the offerings at SL, as we stayed in a std. room, hopefully someone will be along to answer your questions! [/B]

Annamonte - I wanted to make sure you saw this post from this lizard. :teeth: I haven't been so I can't really say for sure, but I LOVE the theming at the GF. I don't know if CR rooms are my kind of style, but I was going to check it out so I can make an informed decision. I did like some of the photos I saw of 14th floor concierge and so forth. Looks aren't everything, right!? ::yes:: It's still a tough decision, Annamonte!

Ok, dumb question - but is "tower concierge" the 14th floor at CR?

floridafam~KEEP SMILING!! :D :sunny:

k&a&c'smom~Your summer plans are coming together nicely. Hope you hear something soon (BWI). Bambi's probably off doing what I "SHOULD" be doing...MAKING $$$$!!! :rotfl:

I've got a question for all of you.

Should we give up the concierge floor at WL and just stay in a deluxe room. There is one available and it nice.

WL IPO is very hard to get a hold of and I wondef if we should just throw in the towel and stay in a deluxe room.

What do you guys think?

:sunny: :wave2: :D

floridafam - I don't know the answer to your question, but I did finally get a response from WL IPO, they stated that Melissa had been off this week, but to be assured my requests were being processed and I would get an emailed itinerary after they were confirmed. Oddly, BWI IPO sent back my confirmed PS's the day after my Itinerary Planner was faxed to them. Oh, well, I'm gonna try WL CL, at least I'll know. For what it's worth, I do like the looks of the 5th floor balconies over the 7th.

WoodysRoundup - are you rested up from your trip yet?!:teeth:

I am ANYTHING but rested from our trip!! LOL! DS woke me up at 5:30am this morning. Haven't stopped since....laundry, bills, cleaning, grocery shopping, DS's therapy session, etc. I'm so tired!!! Our trip was such a whirlwind. Once we got into our groove, it was time to go home! Still, even a brief trip to WDW is better than no trip at all!! ::yes:: You must be getting excited about your trip!!!! :wave2:

Yes, I can't stop thinking about it, and it's still 2 months away! I really liked the short planning time of our Dec. trip, we booked in Nov. Now, just a couple of months seems like a long time to wait! And we just came back! And, your comment about a brief trip being better than none at all, couldn't agree more - we have gone for as few as 3 nights, which seems really short, but we enjoyed it!::yes::

Glad you're back, woody'sroundup! Thank you for your reviews of your resort stay! It is always nice to read other peoples' opinions of all the resorts! Sorry about the laundry..... why won't that stuff just go away? :)

Update on SIL>> She's still in the hospital, and should be moving down a floor, SOON! Physical therapy has started, though it is now working on getting the boot thing on her leg so she can actually DO physical therapy. They are very happy that her skin seems to be living and not dying, so that is a good sign even if it does look like raw hamburger hit by a car. She has a titanium rod from her knee to her ankle. Her tibia was completely blown away, her fibula was mostly gone. She's with reality, but talks about the shooting almost in third person "When I was shot.... Wait.. I was shot?" She is on a lot of pain medication and they are trying to wean her off of the morphine drip. Thank you for your continued prayers for her quick recovery.:grouphug:

K&A&C'smom and I get to meet! Hopefully *crossing fingers and toes* DF will also be driving up from Vero beach for the sorority party! Nothing like a vacation in the wings(no pun intended.. my poor redwings!) to get you through bad times and school that continues through June 18th! Will anyone else be there between July 20-26? *move a day forward on each end for K's days!*

It is off to hockey practice time! Big room wave to everyone!
Debbie

Woodysroundup-thanks for the description of SL. Sounds like the afternoon offerings are more extensive than Poly. My DH would like to stay there someday but I think he'd be more comfortable with the Poly (he knows the layout) this trip.

Well I just made a reservation using the 7 for 5 deal for 11/13 to 11/20. I couldn't get LVC at the Poly or CL at BWI or GF so I booked a garden view non concierge room at Poly. I still have a LVC room booked at rack rate. I'm hoping to apply an AP discount to that and will weigh my options if I don't get that. This way I do have a discounted room or we could decide to splurge on CL at rack if it comes to that. I thought the package cost of $3,293 wasn't too bad for 3 adults, 2 children and infant for 7 nights. The room only LCV at rack would be $3,863. Then another $1,800 (+tax I think) for the AP's but then we'd have those for next year.

Have to do my counter soon!

Thanks for the replies! I really appreciate it! But, I still don't know what to do?!?

I will think about it some more.... Such problems, right? ;)

Congrats on booking your trip! Oooh, I'm so envious! :D We stayed at Poly Gardenview, and it was sooo nice! We were in Tokleau, room 3903 which was very close to the elevators. It was nice and quiet, except during the fireworks at night!

Have fun!!!!

 Hello, everyone! I am back from my business trip to NYC. It was a good trip, and I am sooo tired. Boy, trade shows really take it out of you. My flights went very smoothly, so that was wonderful! I didn't really get to see any of the city (too busy with work meetings, etc.), but I think I would need to go on a pleasure trip to really do that. My first day in the office is tomorrow, so I hope that goes well too. My coworkers seem great, so I hope they are what the seem to be. :)

floridafam, I am SOOOOOOOO happy for your family! I am sure you are relieved beyond all words.

DF, you should definitely consider a vow renewal! Our wedding was such a special experience that we will treasure always. There is just something so wonderful about getting married at our favorite place to vacation. The Disney magic was really there on our wedding day. We are even considering doing a vow renewal of our own for our 10th anniversary (nothing like advanced planning, huh? ;) ).

Just popping in to see how everyone is doing!
DF is correct (as usual) ;)
....been very busy with 2 shows this week, but it's making the $$$$$$$$ !:teeth:

floridafam....What WONDERFUL NEWS about your son!!!! Go to WL, stay CL and have a fabulous time!
BTW...I thought the deluxe rooms had CL access.

After reading WoodysRoundup's WL CL report and the IPO CMs not returning your call, I have to admit that DH and I discussed this also.
"Maybe they were having a bad week" is exactely what I thought when I first read it, too!
We're still doing the WL CL and if it's bad, we'll move over to the Poly...the end.::yes::

I'm calling IPO for WL tomorrow, as well as emailing them.
We'll see what's up.

WoodysRoundup...Welcome back "home"!
I have to say that I am proud of how you handled the WL CL situation and changed resorts. Certainly nothing wrong with that!:wave2:

ead79...Yes, Elizabeth, those trade shows will take every bit of energy out of you! Whenever I go to market, every evening.... I am ready for the jacuzzi, foot massage, and a drink!
And...room service!;)
Glad to see you back at home safe and sound, too!:wave2:

Majestic....I am so happy for you and your family!
Before you know it, you'll be changing that precious picture in your signature!;)
Go and have a wonderful time at the Poly CL....betcha steveanddonna are!
::yes::

lovesdumbo...congrats on booking that great deal!
If you can do the CL at AP rate, please consider it! the Poly CL is so wonderful! :)
Just keep calling, calling, calling......;)

And it looks like we've got more lounge lizards here!!!!!
WELCOME annamonte !!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

lots of :grouphug: to the rest of ya'll, including my twin, DF!princess:

I'm cross-eyed from fitting all these models and making final preparations for the Saturday luncheon show!

Oh, yes! The 12th floor at the CR is the Tower Club, the 14th is the CL. If I had to choose between the CRTC and GFSL, I would do the CRTC.....same CL amenities, but the MK view from your tower room is awesome!
Just my humble little opinion! LOL!
:sunny:

Good morning everyone!

FYI, I just called WL IPO and Marilyn called me back within a minute.

They are not able to have the amount of Disney Dollars in the room that I requested but no big deal. I will just pick them up here in town and place them somewhere as my own surprise.

She is putting in a request for us to move to a deluxe room if it is available. Of course, we'll pay the difference. This should give us the extra room we need for all of DH's stuff.

She said their e-mail is working fine but they have noticed a drop in the amount of e-mails they are receiving.

Thanks again for all of the prayers for DS. We're off to the hospital again. I just have to have one more test to make sure everything is OK. I'm sure it will be.

Majestic, enjoy your trip and have a safe flight. Can't wait to hear how you like the Poly.::yes::

Have a great day everyone.:sunny:

Good morning to all!

Regarding WL Deluxe rooms, when I inquired about those I was told they did not come with concierge. I was a little puzzled by this as well . I think they should offer concierge services with those rooms since it's like a suite. Getting off my soap box on that one. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a great experience while I'm there. I'd hate to have to drag DH to the Poly, GF or BWI ;). He was looking forward to staying at the WL.

Debbie - Glad to hear your SIL is on the road to recovery. I know it's going to be tough! Keeping you all in our prayers here.

ead97 - Glad your trade show went swell. Good luck on 1st official day at work!

:wave2: Must get to work now myself!

floridafam......keep us posted. Think positive thoughts and you are in our thoughts and prayers still!
::yes:: :grouphug:

I completely agree on both of those issues!

Got more work this am, and will try to check in later!
Ya'll have a fabulous DISney day!

We're back. I have to have surgery (outpatient)

Not the news I wanted but not the end of the world, either.

They have valet parking at the hospital and sliding glass doors. My kids say they feel like they are at Wilderness Lodge whenever we go there.:p

I also think the deluxe rooms should come with concierge service.
We just have it noted on our reservation that we would like to be in a deluxe room if there is one available and keep the concierge access. We'll see what happens when we check in. That extra space would be great for us.

Have a great day everyone.

Hope your surgery goes well floridafam and I'm sure it will.::yes::
Not sure what your surgery is for but I had "female" surgery back in Jan. and it was totally worth it because I feel so much better now. You will be in my thoughts. :D

Hi everyone,
I have been lurking, on this thread for a while... and I just thought that I might add a little comfort to those of you who are going to the WL CL. My family and I went last Sept. and can't say enough about it!!The staff was wonderful!! My dd3 has long curly hair and I fogot conditioner for her ....The cl called everywhere and actually went to get it for us... NO CHARGE!
Any of you who have girls with long hair, you know what a bad start to everyday this would have been, if I had to brush her hair without conditioner ,however trivial this may sound. ( I thought that it was shampoo and cond.... not with conditioner). There were many other added pluses that made our trip special also. Anyway I do love the Lodge and we booked another trip CL for Sept. I hope that this may relieve some doubt for your upcoming trips. I do believe that every resort is not for everyone though, and if you are having a bad time do what the others did and go where you know you will have a memorible time

:wave2: Hi, inthemood! Thanks for visiting our little thread. Why don't you kick off your shoes and stay a while? Thanks for putting us at ease on our upcoming trip to the WL. My DH has wanted to stay there since he laid eyes on it. I myself would love to stay at all the resorts - LOL! :teeth:

All you hard working lizards out there, don't forget to stop & smell the roses! :)

I just wanted to reply to the poster who asked about staying in GF Sugar Loaf. We stayed a week there last summer. Nothing but benefits to staying there. The building is located right behind the main lodge. One side overlooks the quiet pool which is open 24 hours. The other side overlooks the marina. We had a second floor marina view. Beautiful and quiet. You have the lounge offerings of food which was a great continental breakfast, afternoon snacks, including outstanding cookies and pastries, and evening snacks too. They pretty much wrap up all the food offerings by 7 to 8 pm. I can't remember details about the other food offerings. They offered all kinds of juices and coffee/tea/lemonade from about 6am to 8 or 9pm. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Sugar Loaf is supposed to be being changed to full concierge with more hot offerings and liquor, but that was not the way it was when we were there. I'm not sure if it is still the same. When we were dropped off by the towncar company, the attendant seemed to know that we were concierge guests and were whisked away on a golf cart to the Sugar Loaf Building for separate check in, which went perfectly smoothly. The location is great for being close to the monorail, you just enter the back entrance to the main lodge, take the elevator to the second floor, and walk out to the monorail stop. The location is also really close to the gasparilla grill for a cafeteria style food. Best to take the monorail to MK and boat back for quickest transport. Monorail to Epcot too. Buses to everywhere else, and the GF stop is always the closest to the park exits. We would go back in a second!:wave2:
