Hi everyone! I see all those counters nearing time to go ! Are you doing a continuous happy dance? I keep saying to myself, I'm getting there little by little or is that counter moving or what (LOL)!

I am also having a small complex on resort choices. My DH has expressed a strong interest in the WL (what avid hunter wouldn't, right?). What is a girl to do? I was drawn to the BWI, but I could do WL too. What is a girl to do, BWI or WL? Either way, it's gotta be CL (LOL)! I'd love to hear your opinions.

I hope WL still has CL left waiting so late to do this!

Most of what he loves, is watching nature/animal interaction so I just know he's going to love sitting out on the balcony there. I have decided that we'll have at least one meal over at WL so he can have his bit of nirvana. I know he'll love the music there! When I walked in for our PS at WC with my son last January, I was immediately with DH on the cell to tell him the theme from The Edge was playing. That is one of his favorite movies! I am considering artist pointe due to the menu offerings.

#1hockeymom - I hear you! AKL is appealing....and I've read a lot good things from you guys on it as well. Maybe I should consider splitting my stay since I can't make a decision anymore ? I think AKL would be runner up to WL if I know my DH. I know my DS would love AKL hands down because of the animals, but I think he would love just to be at WDW. My DS is not as interested in hunting yet (is it huntin' in your parts too?), but he's still a little young to be full fledged & hard core. However, I know my DS is about to get the fever since Turkey season is about to start here and my DH has already bought him the duds to go sit with him this weekend. You guys must think we are in the boonies (AKA: in the middle of nowhere, the sticks) after reading all this, but you just can't deny your roots...well maybe my DH's roots that is?

#1hockeymom - I think you'll love Artist Point - the berry cobbler alone is to die for. I also had the best salmon I've ever eaten, wild caught and cedar planked. The setting is impressive, especially if you like arts & crafts style architecture, and the server was terrific, really knowledgeable about both food & wine. My wine snob Manhattan financial analyst b-i-l was blown away by their wine list (couldn't believe it was Disney World dontcha know!) and DH gave thumbs up to the steak. We won't have time to eat there in May but plan to go back on our fall trip.

You know what #hockeymom? I wasn't surprised that your mom was pregnant (my son and bil are the same age) what I was surprised about was that she was almost in labor!!!!. But then, you two were in WDW!! Priorities!!

WoodysRoundup - Hey! Glad you're back, sorry for your friend. Re: the bi- or tri-annual trips to WDW, NO, we ABSOLUTELY do NOT lose any Magic by going so often!!! In fact, since we know we will be back again soon, we allow ourselves to slow down, experience even more Magic by noticing the little things. And, I can't say enough good things about an AP - one of the great things I've noticed, we can run over to MK on our first night to see the fireworks, Spectromagic without feeling guilty for using up a day's admission. Very freeing.

K&A&C'SMOM....Soooo good to hear from you!! I've missed this thread!! Well, you answered the ques. the way I thought you would. OF COURSE it wouldn't lose the magic no matter how many times you go !!! I guess I just have to continue my quest to convert the DH into the Disney fanatic I am! Not sure it will EVER happen. I should just be grateful we go once a year!! I'd take the kids myself more often...but when they're older. I don't think I'd have the stamina to do it myself with a 1 and 2 yr. old!!! What's happening in your "Disney" world today?

If we hadn't known there'd be another Disney trip in our future when we took our niece in January, we'd have been crazed trying to do it all. As it is, we can look forward to another ride with Stan, our favorite monorail man, try a new restaurant, save some time for the non-park activities we never have time for... Our friends ask us the same thing: Don't you get bored? To which we say, "Heck no! Bored in WDW? How would that be possible? (Unless of course you're 14 and boredom is de rigeur!)

WoodysRoundup - - also sorry to hear about your friend's mom; you're a good friend to shoulder some of the burden for her. The support of friends made all the difference to us when my Mom was dying last December. As for the DH - it seems that they just come 'round themselves. Once my DH discovered Disney golf and the monorail, he was hooked worse than I am. I consider myself mildly obsessed, but he's an addict! We are planning our return trip to Thailand for next year and he's already worried that we won't be able to fit a "regular" Disney trip into our schedule if we take 2 weeks for Thailand. Whatever DH loves to do, find how he can do it in Disney-style, and he'll be booking your multi-annual trips from now on!

Hi everyone!

I'm new here, but not to WDW! Forgive me for this--don't want to get beat up here, but I have to say that we were hugely disappointed in our concierge stay at YC (07/04-07/11/03). We were very excited, based on what I had read on various sites. To us, it definitely was NOT worth the extra $$.
A quick story--We arrived around noon on the 4th. We planned on ditching the luggage, grabbing tickets and heading to MK. Since we wanted to see fireworks, and didn't want to take a chance of not getting back into MK, due to capacity reasons, we told them we wouldn't be back until late. Instead of the staff making sure our luggage made it to our room (they told us the room #) we had to run around at 12:30am with two very TIRED kids and fetch our own luggage through a bell hop in the main lobby. Among other things--the staff never did anything for us. We even had to find a map of the resort ourselves. The lounge was nice for breakfast--but they were always out of things. We made our own PS's, because it was easier! We didn't get robes and our very pricey room overlooked a roof and the service enterance. The room itself, as we found out, is exactly the same as the regular resort rooms.

Did we miss something? What made it worthwhile for all of you? I would love to hear!

Well, I gotta call back on WL CL....I was told it wasn't available, but the GF is open for my dates in the Sugar Loaf building? I'm not too sure about this. I think my DH would be uncomfortable at the GF? Maybe I should try for the WL again and see if I get a different answer? Am I crazy for giving up the GF sugarloaf building?

So sorry to hear about your negative CL experience at the YC.
I have to say after all my CL experiences, I've never been treated like that.

Other than the YC giving my room away, which I laugh about that now, we've always been given excellent service from the WDW concierge CMs.
Most CL rooms are like the other standard rooms, with the exception of suites and deluxe rooms.
As for the robes, one time they were missing, but one call to the CL, and we received them within the hour.
As for the food offerings, the CLs at YC, BC, Poly, and AKL
(I know from experiences) are very efficient about replacing food items during the lounge hours.
Perhaps you came into the CL when they were closing?
BTW...what room # were you in?

Big wave to all and I will post those room #'s for the AKL 6th floor bedding tonight !
Off the top of my head, room # 6402, poolview, has the 2 queens and daybed.
On the savannah side, room# 6209, has 2 queens and can connect to #6208, which has the queen, bunk, and daybed.
I know there's 4 rooms on the 6th floor that have the bunks, 2 handicapped poolviews (one of those have roll-in shower).

Another thread prompted me to ask this question of all you concierge goddesses and gods. Do you stop at the grocery store before arriving and what do you bring with you. I assume I won't need b-fast stuff etc for the kids.
Another question, if I want to buy autograph books or other treats and have them waiting for my munchkins, will they arrange that for me?

We personally don't stop to pick up anything. For the most part, we have been ok getting what we need at the resort.

You have a fridge in concierge so you can ask them for drinks and snacks to keep in it for snacking in the room. We do this for fruits and juice for our 3 year old daughter.

The only exception to the rule is for tiny tots....I would stop to buy diapers only because it doesn't make sense to pack them.

As for the surprises, get in touch with your contact at the IPO and see if they can make it happen. My experience is sometimes they can make it happen, sometimes not. Depends on the person you get.

Thanks We do have to stop for diapers, formula and baby food anyway.
I am torn between ordering stuff to give them on the plane (they don't know we are going) and having stuff in the room (less to carry through the airport)
