Well, I sent a nice box of chocolates to IPO at the Poly this a.m., they have been so nice to me, and I think they are not in the Hawaii bldg., so I had it sent to the resort ATTN:IPO. Hope this works. Anybody know how many cm's are in the lounge? I'm sure I'll find out when we're there next week, but didn't want to leave anybody out.

Bambi, you've stated that you have picked up gifts in the parks for the cm's, do you wait 'til the last day?

That was a very nice gesture, k&a&c'smom!
Reminds me I need to take care of IDA, who booked our G1 cruise and got all those princess breakfasts for our next trip!

We wait until the night before checkout, or if our favorite/most helpful CM is not there, then the next am before check out.
BTW....we did Texan Pralines on this trip!
Decided to do something from our area, and give them something that they normally don't indulge in!

Hehehe.....YC concierge didn't know what they missed! LOL!:p ;)

VAgal76....PM me if you want some animated clipart or any help!

Thanks, Bambi! - What a great idea! I can't think of anything "special" from our area, KC has Hallmark, but no specialty candy or food type things. I sent Ethel M, as that's my favorite - you know, send what you would like to get, Ha!!:teeth:

:sunny:

Ethel M. is a GREAT idea!

A gift shop three doors down from my store now sells Ethel M chocolates!
Oh! they are GOOD, GOOD, GOOOOOOOD!!!!

Now, that's something a CL CM doesn't get to indulge in everyday!::yes::

Hmmmm.....THAT'S what I'll send Ida!
Thanks, k&a&c'smom!!!!

Well, I'm glad I was finally able to give you an idea!!!!! You are so very helpful to me!princess:

I discovered Ethel M chocolates on a trip to Vegas with a friend. My sons insisted that, although I was staying at Treasure Island, I had to visit the Stardust because that was featured in Austin Powers!!!:cool2: What they got out of my visiting there, I don't know, but in the lobby was an Ethel M store. Fell in love instantly!!!!::yes:: I tried to fob the boys off with Stardust t-shirts, while I enjoyed the chocolates, but no dice, huh-huh!!

LOL! How funny, k&a&c'smom!
And you're very welcome for the sweet (no pun intended ;) )compliment!

May I say...your counter is looking VERY IMPRESSIVE~~~~~!!!!!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

OK.....can you believe I've already booked and put a deposit on our January trip?
CR again....but I got the Tower Club..FINALLY!

It was very tempting NOT to take the 14th floor though.

Have a wonderful DISney day ya'll!

I returned early this morning from BWI CL!! It was awesome, as usual. I was so warmly greeted and welcomed home. The big surprise of the trip was the Illuminations cruise Stephanie was able to book for me shortly before we left. It was a surprise for Janice's birthday and was a huge success.
It was so much fun and the weather was beautiful.

BambiTamy, Hi! I noticed that you are going to GF RPC in Sept. We to are trying to decide on a concierge for our late Sept./early Oct. trip! We have now narrowed it down to AKL or RPC, but are really having a hard time making that final decision( I want to book it tommorrow)! Any advise to sway us between the two??? Thanks for any advise! :)

Welcome back, KerryCM!
And I'm so glad to read that you had a wonderful trip with great weather!::yes::

Those CL CMs are very good at getting those cruises.
She must've saw a cancellation in the system and jumped on it!
Congrats on gettting it for Janice's birthday!:teeth:

jacksmom...HI! Well, what can I say? We've done the AKL CL four times and just LOVE that place!

The GF RPC will be a first time for us, jacksmom, so I can't personally tell you which one we prefer.
But, being on the monorail is a plus, no doubt.

Also, I don't know if you've noticed...but, we often "sleep around" during our WDW vacations, and often do at least two resorts.
And I couldn't think a better combination....the AKL and the GF RPC in one trip, esp if your trip is at least 6 days.

BTW...DH really wants to return to the AKL CL after our CRTC in January.
He really loves that place, as much as I do!

One of these days, hopefully within a year, I can say that I've stayed at all the CLs and even several different suites, so I can offer my humble opinions on each.

Stick around and maybe some of the other LOUNGE LIZARDS can offer their opinions, too!:sunny:

Do we do 10-14 days in the fall, or a week in the fall followed by a 5-7 day trip in early December? The long trip would make it so much easier to convince my DH to split our stay (I'd actually get to see a different resort!) but we could take my nephew in December (longer trip is too long for the little guy w/o mommy and sissy) which would be very cool. Also, I love seeing the parks all decorated for the holidays. Then again, one long trip means less airfare. Truly a dilemna here - someone talk me into one or the other!

steveanddonna - If I had the choice, I would make 2 trips, and get to see the World at 2 different times of the year!!::yes:: But, usually our airfare is only about $365, so take my advice for what it's worth!:teeth:

Welcome back, KerryCm! - We have been thinking about returning to BWI, possibly this summer, it's great to hear they are so accommodating!! I'm glad you had such a great trip! :sunny:

I know, I should be focusing on how cool it is to have this choice. I mean, how blessed are we to be able to do this!? I'm leaning towards 2 trips myself (our airfare is really not that bad, either, and I think we'll have earned a companion ticket by December if we go in the fall) but we've never had the chance to do a really long stay before and might not get the opportunity again. DH also loves hot hot hot humid weather and is pushing for the long October trip. I want to decide soon so there are still 7 for 4 packages available. I just have to keep telling myself how much fun it will be no matter which we decide.

steveanddonna...first of all, a BIG HUG  goes to you for saying those sweet things about us on the "snobby" thread!
Thank you for making such a positive observation about us Lounge Lizards!:sunny:

And as for your dilemna...if you can swing the airfare, do BOTH!
Those companion passes are GREAT! That's how DH and I fly on SWA!

I understand about the nephew thing, because we are bringing our 6yo niece in June and my parents. And the holidays are beautiful at WDW, no doubt about that!
And being able to experience 2 resorts IS NICE!

Tell DH that the weather in early December is known to be very nice also, which is true!
We swam during our last Dec trip at Poly and AKL!
but, remember, it was the first week of December.

Weather here in the South...you never know what to expect!
Last fall fashions I had to EAT, because it didn't get cold in the Texas Hill Country until the holidays!

Oh, yes! I remember now....(sep at birth? remember our PM?)
OK...this is what to do.
Book the first one-but a shorter stay, then book the second one like you want for the holidays!
Then, DH will start ADDING nights to the first trip...on his own when he realizes that you're doing two trips and he wants/haves to get in that longer October trip!
And remind him, that staying CL helps on the food costs, esp for breakfasts!

And another thing I will add....yes, remember you are blessed to be able to do this!
I remind myself that often, and never forget where I came from.

I remember when DS was a little baby( and I was a single parent)
and I was visiting my cousin who worked for a travel agency.
I was holding him and looking at the WDTC brochures....
she came up and told me...
"Tamby, you'll NEVER be able to go there! It's too expensive and you'll NEVER have the money to afford it!":(
I just whispered to my little sweet baby boy,
"Don't worry, sweetie, mommy will take you there!"

Well, what can I say?
Things change and I've never rubbed it in her face, but she knows through the family grapevine about us going to WDW and other fabulous places as well as me owning my own successful business.
(which I thank my Lord everyday for these blessings!)
::yes::

Ya'll have a wonderful DISney day!

BT, so you will be at WDW during the marathon? I smell a DIS meet! My mom and I (and potentially my best friend and her mom) will be walking the half marathon, and I would love to get to meet you in person! We won't be staying concierge on that trip (just a short, very budget-minded trip to do the half marathon), but I really couldn't be more thrilled!

Thanks to you all and this thread, I upgraded our stay at the Poly to concierge.
BT--We had a somewhat similar experience. We currently have an older friend who is a travel agent. Last time we went to Disney, she booked the whole thing for us. We had to BEG her to let us stay at the moderates, because she said the All-Stars were a better price, then she booked us on a flight where we had to be at the airport at 4:30 am, with three little kids, we had to switch planes twice and we didn't get to Disney until 4:30 pm, all in the name of getting us a "better deal"
I learned a lot from that experience. I learned that sometimes cheaper and better deal are NOT the same thing and that I was going to have to book my own vacations. I had her book our airfare, but only if she could get us a direct flight at a decent hour, which she did after mumbling that she could probably save us $20 a ticket if we weren't so picky.
When it came to a hotel, I told her we were going through SOG to book an overflow room because I knew we wanted a monorail resort this time. I actually booked Poly concierge, she would have a fit if she knew what we were paying, but I had a code and we could afford it. I feel like we don't vacation that often and I want to enjoy myself while my kids are still young and want to be around me!! We have our own business and work really hard, I think we deserve it!
So don't tell anyone, it's a secret, but we have been bitten too!

And another thing I will add....yes, remember you are blessed to be able to do this! I remind myself that often, and never forget where I came from.

BambiTamby - Totally agree ::yes::! We have been very blessed in recent years, which has allowed us to take such a nice trip to WDW.

KerryCM - I'm glad you had a wonderful trip :) & look forward to reading some details on your trip. We are headed to BWI in June ourselves:teeth:.

...one can never have too many!
Ooh, do you KNOW my DH? I think your tactics just might work!
I've never known him to turn down a Disney trip. He has an aversion to Disney in December, though, I think because last time we went at that time there were 2 nieces & a nephew in tow - a few too many little ones for his taste. I, on the other hand, love to see WDW, especially MK, through their eyes.

Goodferry - you are an excellent student!

We are staying at WL this December. This will be our first Disney Resort stay. How are the conceirage level rooms at WL? Is it worth the additional money? Thanks!:wave2:

I just wanted to pop in to say hello to everyone here, and of course, to look at my counter! We're under the two week mark and I am ready to go! I am sure that isn't helped by the fact I just finished parent/teacher conferences an hour ago! I have to add that yes, we are blessed, and we also all prioritized things in our life. I love reading all of the stories written here! So, everyone gets an A today for niceness and working hard! *I can pass out the As... I am the teacher!*LOL (who is not responsible for any excitedly written content that is suddenly filled with typos!)

A(s) for everyone! I am still pinching myself that I am going AKL concierge for a second time!

Debbie

PS Don't tell the ankole family that I was inquiring about a different savannah just last night!
