There was a thread recently where wireless internet was discussed, and YC was reported to have it. I do not know this myself, as I do not take a laptop on vacation!! Maybe somebody with more info will come along, or you could do a search for this thread!!::yes::

This info is form MouseSavers:
Disney now offers Wi-Fi (high speed wireless Internet access) in the public areas of its convention hotels. You will need a Wi-Fi enabled laptop computer or PDA to access the Internet from designated areas of each resort. Smart City is the provider and bills the guest using a secure credit card transaction via an on-screen Internet connection. Requires a wireless interface card (WIC), available for purchase in the resort's business center. $4.99 per hour or $9.95 for a 24-hour period.

Locations for Disney's Wi-Fi access:

Grand Floridian - Main Lobby, Convention Center Hallway, Beach Pool
Contemporary - Main Lobby, Convention Center Hallway, Feature Pool
Yacht & Beach Club - Main Lobbies, Convention Center Hallway, Stormalong Bay Pool
Coronado Springs - Main Lobby, Convention Center Hallway, Feature Pool, Francisco's

We use dial-up in our room at the Poly and it has been serviceable. You can also access the internet at the GF business center (don't remember the cost) if you don't bring a laptop. I would guess YC convention center would have access as well.

LOL, floridafam!

We have never stayed at the YC but have stayed at BC twice-we have never had a problem and our room was always ready early. I'm also waiting for BT to give details-some reason must have been given. I am also very nervous now since Easter is an extremely busy time anyway-we had a difficult time in the first place trying to get a concierge room anywhere on property. BT where are you!!!? I will definitely give a trip report-in fact I'm going to try to do one live from the YC if I can get a connection. Anyone know if you can get wireless or even dial up there?

Sorry, haven't been around, remember I had two shows this week after my return!:earseek:

OK, mom, don't worry about your YC room.
Here's the whole scoop on the BT YC/BC "fiasco"-trip report!:hyper:

Like I said before, I had a standard booked for YC concierge, no WV available with AP rate. Talked to Amy and had requested the standard room that has 2 queens and a daybed, room #5154 or 5150. They had blocked that room for us....
but when we checked in, we were told that we were upgraded to a WV room on the same wing.
OK, when we came back later that day, the WV room, which was a handicapped room was gone, and the family in our blocked room had decided to stay another night!
So...no room!
Amy did offer us another handicapped room on the 4th floor with CL access, but DH was so furious and said no way!
Glad I just sat there and nicely reminded them we were REPEAT CL guests, and we reserve these rooms in advance for a reason...
Sammy, the GM of ALL the Epcot resorts comes into the picture.
They would've given us a suite, but there were NONE!
And when she was going thru their inventory and hit on the BWI, garden suites, my heart just froze...but nothing.:(
Then, Sammy called and found a CL room at the BC right next to the wing that they are still doing "scaffold" work on the outside.
Also, we were compensated and given VIP seats for Illuminations.
Our BC CL room # was 5674 and it overlooked the BC valet entrance and you could see the FW at night from our balcony!
This room was even nicer than the YC.
And we got our 2 queens and a daybed.
As for the CL offerings between the YC/BC...they were the same.
LOTS of goldfish, cheeses, crackers, popcorn, p&b sandwiches, other various sandwiches, cookies, cakes, and fish and chips, mac n cheese, chips, dips, chicken nuggets, fried shrimp one night....
Actually, I really liked the layout of the BC CL better than the YC, but that's just my own opinion.

mom-rules,,,,please don't FRET! You'll be well taken care of by the CL staff at the Epcot resorts!

Oh, yes! here's a link for the rooms for the YC concierge floor and the BC concierge rooms.

Gotta go! See ya'll later to tell you ABOUT THE AKL CL!!!!!

Oops!Forgot breakfast offerings!

They were the usual bagels, muffins, cereals, fruits (love CL fruit!), and one am, they had strawberry-chesse blitzes !
YUM!
(I probably didn't spell it right, but they were fabulous!)::yes::

Also, lots of different teas, and coffee flavorings, juices...and
ALL the glass BOTTLED WATER YOU WANTED!
you just have to ask for water, soda, and beer, as they are not left out for the taking!:teeth:

I will be at the BWI CL tomorrow at this time. Does anyone need any specific information while I am there? I am soooooo excited. I cannot wait to get there. We have tea at the GF for tomorrow afternoon and then on to the MK for the night.
I will get any info anyone needs.

Have fun,Kerry!

Yup, we want pictures!
LOL! I'm still haven't unpacked our cameras!

Also....the smoking issue for the Hawaii building.
hmmm....whenever we stayed there, before the refurb, we stayed often on the third floor, and never smelled smoke.

I just go for the view!;)
Took mom on one trip and stayed GV CL, and had one of the last rooms on the third floor, too.
And she is a BIG TIME NON-SMOKER CAN SMELL IT A MILE AWAY person!
She never complained about any smokey smell the whole week.

I need more time to do all these CLs!!!! (again.....insert whining clipart here) ;)
Last POLY CL trip was for my bday in November 2002.
Now, I have another one to add on my to-do list!

I love that resort also...all the lush greens and the music!
That's probably a big reason I love the AKL, the WL and the Poly as much as I do!
It's THE MUSIC that surrounds the whole resort thingie!:teeth:

Thanks BT-I think I'll try to relax now-okay can't!! 2 more weeks-yipee!

LOL, floridafam!
They're OVER now, thank goodness!
Man-o-man! Am I ever tired though!
I think I need another VACATION!

Hey, Bambi!! I see Dory's doing fine - Deb and I tried to take good care of her for you!!

Glad you had a great time, welcome home. Are you rested from your trip?!:wave2:

*giant sigh of relief*
Dory is doing great! She had such a good time! She's been to two different M states, both Missouri and Michigan! I took her to a hockey game, which she seemed to really like, but thought that the water was a bit too cold for her. I am sure she is happy to have her Mommy back!

Ok, OK, what does my counter say? I am getting more and more excited! I have booked some of my PSs, but still need to decide on some of the others. I can't believe I did it, but I asked for *crossing fingers* CRT. We shall see! If they can't get it, we'll move it to a lunch ressie and I am sure they'll be able to get that.

I am really looking forward to checking out the Poly during our Ohana reservations! Perhaps we'll go early and look around a bit. I have only been on the monorail by there, but never stopped.

Hey, Debbie, how 'ya doin'?! Your counter looks almost as good as mine - heehee!! We have all our PS's done, DD and I haven't tried to do any of the hard-to-get ones in a long while. Never done HDD, we should probably try it once. I booked some of our PS's waaaay back, before I had CL at the Poly, but we keep changing our minds on a few of them. I think we have finally settled on every day's meals, though - when DD's dentist asked what her favorite thing at WDW was, she told them "the food!" Says a lot, doesn't it?!! We build our whole trip around where we'll be eating - oh, and EMH.

Good luck with your CRT res. - I'm crossing my fingers, too, maybe that will be the extra "umph" you need!::yes::

p.s. you are gonna want to stay at the Poly - it's wonderful!!

ditto on the Poly. As you can tell from our signature, we love it there! Sending some pixie dust for your CRT ressies. Good luck! If it's any consolation, though they don't guarantee any characters at lunch or dinner, Cinderella DID stop by our table when we took our niece there for dinner in Jan. Between that and the wonderful atmosphere, and tons of attention from the CMs, she was thrilled beyond belief.

Luv2trav,
I think BT reiterated what I said about the smoking issue. Again, when we brought b-i-l and his wife up to their 3rd floor designated smoking room last Nov. the room smelled fresh and clean. We also had connecting 1st floor rooms in 2000 when we took my aunts. We had requested 1st floor because they were in their 80's, and IPO warned us that the rooms were designated smoking, but both rooms were fresh and not stinky at all. We've really never had a problem with smoke smells in Hawaii, and both DH & I are allergic and highly sensitive. (Samoa last trip was a different story, but we won't go into that again!) Just mention your preference for a room w/balcony or patio to both IPO and again at check-in to the concierge. Hopefully, a non-smoking one will be available.

I know not to expect too much on the CRT ressies. I was there in January, after all! DS and I just walked up after getting autographs, and got them one morning! Walk on! I think that is why we want to go back. We made great memories that day! He doesn't want to see the princesses again. He wants the danish french toast! We ate lunch at the castle a few years ago for DD. We also were lucky and ran into Cinderella, which even for a 15 year old, it totally made her day! She was a princess for years and never got to meet the "real" princess!

I can understand the food thing. Both of my kids live around food. Unfortunately, for the most part they have good taste in food, also! DD is a brie junkie LOL We've been searching for a decent brie ever since we were in Paris!

Sometimes I have to pinch myself. Those early trips when DD was young were one day tickets, a balloon was the one souvenier, and we never ate onsite let alone stayed onsite. Now I am doing concierge and/or club level for the third time, and planning out my meals at mostly sit down places. No, the memories aren't any better now, but it is nice to not worry and to not starve all day! All that hard work really does pay off! :)

Poly talk>> I could have grabbed my last three days at the Poly, GV concierge AP rate, when I booked my trip and was having trouble getting all of my days concierge. Oh now I am wondering if I shouldn't have split the stay! No, DH hasn't been to AKL. He needs to be there and see my "family" of ankole!

Debbie

Yes, unfortunately my kids (except DS-16) love good food - they love to eat at nice restaurants!! I don't know if that was a good precedent to set - I pity their future spouses!!!

Wow, Paris, what a great trip that must have been. Didn't I read that you have also been to London?! What lucky kids you have, that's fabulous that they are world travelers - I believe travel broadens their minds to other cultures, even here at home. I would love to visit London, Rome, Paris, but I wouldn't have the foggiest idea how to plan that!!!

We, too, had to budget like crazy when we first started going to WDW. We did stay on site, but it was a stretch!! We ate mostly counter-service meals, now we have lunch and dinner at the sit-down rest., and if we could eat any more, we'd have breakfast, too!!:faint:

You'll have to try the Poly on your next trip - we have been away from it so long, that's why I decided to split w/AKL this trip! They're our 2 favorites, hard to choose. The other night, I dreamed of entering AKL's lobby, and when I woke up I was disappointed to be in my own bed!

p.s. Bambi, love your Easter dress!!princess:

LOL! thanks for my dress compliment!:wave2:

Debbie....I loved what you were saying about how we have to pinch ourselves. I remember, too, at one time when we stayed offsite, budgeted everything to the penny to go to WDW, and now here we are...staying not just in deluxes, but in concierge!
And now, I've discovered SUITES!!!!!

Just have to thank God for all of our blessings!
And always remember where you came from!::yes::

And I'm looking forward to those danishes at CRT, too!
Had to laugh when I read that!
But, I'm taking my parents and 6yo niece for that trip, so the princess thingie is gonna be a big deal!:teeth:

Gosh! It's been one heck of a day for me! We were blessed with alot of business today (thank you Lord, since we're back from WDW!)
Got DH and DS's suitcases done, but mine stays half-packed at all times....but I haven't gone thru it yet!
And I really need to download pictures this weekend for all of ya'll!
I even have last year's YC CL pics for mom_rules!
Plus, the Grand1 thing really came as a huge suprise for me!

I just love how all of us support each other and send prayers and pixie dust for each other!
This is what the DIS is all about, my friends!

OH BT Please post the pics when you have a chance!! Can never get enough info and love pics!! I be there in two weeks-can't wait-we still have snow. BT-what's the weather like now?

mom_rules....the weather was wonderful! just right on the temps! In the 70-low 80's, cool enough for crowds, yet warm enough to enjoy the pools!
We had two days of afternoon showers, but other than that, it was clear and partly cloudy!

March/April weather in Florida makes up for the huge crowds!::yes::

Did ya'll read on another thread that WL concierge called me yesterday and confirmed the GRAND 1 for us on Father's Day?
Got all those princess breakfasts too!

They (WL Concierge) are on top of things!
Looking forward to what Magic Princess has to say about them, too!:hyper:

Welcome back BT! Who have you been dealing with over the phone? I know that one of the guys named Glen that really knows the lodge well is currently on loan to the IPO so you may be hearing from him. He's really good too. If you have been hearing from the lodge concierge staff directly, who else have you spoken to?

Sadly, I know just about all of them there. Heh.

Fred
