teentoddlermom-thanks for the great review of GF SL CL. My DH wants to stay at GF someday. I'm not ready to switch from Poly yet-I love that you can walk to Epcot monorail from Poly and I simply just love the Poly's atmosphere. Maybe when we can go without a stroller I'll be ready to try GF.

Looks like I can't go get my counter just yet afterall. The friend that will be joining us hasn't checked the dates with her DH yet and now she's afraid she may not be able to go those dates. UGH-I really want to know that I have a reservation all set! Now I'm thinking we should just pay the higher rates and go in October.

Hi all you lounge lizards - just checking e-mail then heading over to Epcot. It's hot, not too humid and beautifully breezy & sunny here in the World - great trip so far, but will be over too too soon. "See" you soon!

steveanddonna the weather sounds perfect! Hope you're having a great time so far. Won't be long for me now! :Pinkbounc

Steveanddonna - I'm glad you are having a great time! I hope time comes to a stand still for you. Soak up the sun & wishing you safe travel home. :wave2:

Hi everyone. I just wanted to let everyone kow how how trip went. I loved the BC. It was wonderful. The CM's were great, especially Teresa. We booked a standard view room, but had a view of the inner courtyard and the Boardwalk! For DH's birthday they left a White Chocolate Mickey Mouse and Tuxedo Strawberries and a mickey basket with Daisy Duck goodies in it. DS spent a lot of time in the lounge, watching TV and pin trading. He even got a CM pin which he loves. I didn't like the bus service. It seemed to take forever to get to MK and AK, we always seemed to just miss the bus going there, but we always caught the bus at the right time going back. The kids loved SAB, especially DD. She would have been happy playing in the sand all day. We had trouble with her not wanting to nap during the day, so about 5 pm she would pass out from exhaustion and make things difficult for us. She was a trooper though and didn't start falling apart until the 5th day. She told Dh that she was "all funned out." We spent one evening at the Boardwalk and rented a Surrey Bike. DD loved sitting in the front and ringing the bell. Dh was driving and almost drove us into a poll, but other than that it was fun. We watched Wishes from the Boardwalk that evening. DH didn't like BC very much, he likes the Poly. I think as long as DD is a preschooler we will stay at the Poly from now on, that seemed to be the park she liked best. We had a great time and I would go back, just when DD is older and we can enjoy MGM and Epcot more with her. There was not very many rides she could go on there and she was disappointed.

floridafam - That's too bad about the surgery, but hopefully it's minor, and recovery will be swift!::yes::

steveanddonna - you lucky girl! Glad your trip is going so well, and the weather sounds great - raining and thunderstorms here in MO!

inthemood - Welcome!!:wave2: And, thanks for the positive review of WL CL! DD and I are so looking forward to it! And, you are so right, no resort is the right fit for everyone, many people rave about the CR, but it holds no appeal for me.:sunny:

teentoddlermom - The last time we stayed at GF, we were in Big Pine Key, LV, and we liked it but didn't love it like the Poly. You and Woody are making me want to head to Sugar Loaf next trip!:teeth: And, we used the same mode of transport to MK when we were at the Poly last month - monorail there, boat back. I agree, this is the fastest. ::yes::

ValerieK - LOL! I had to laugh at your DD's "all funned out." I know the feeling!!:hyper: As to your assessment of the buses to MK (we didn't visit AK that trip) I have to agree, they really need to split that bus run, too many resorts on one route. We were there in Dec., and couldn't understand why they didn't have extra buses running to MK on MVMCP nights. That seems like a logical thing, to me, everybody started heading to MK around 4:00 p.m. and we waited, and waited, and waited.... !! Those monorail resorts are hard to beat for MK access, with little ones (or even not so little!)

Big wave to everyone else!! I've just about got my itinerary wrapped up for our July visit - can't wait to meet Deb!;)

lovesdumbo:
That was probably the only drawback...having to change at the transportation and ticketing center to the epcot monorail!! When we booked the trip last year, we were originally scheduled to stay at the poly gv concierge, but I changed at the last minute due to renovations there. But when we toured the POLY to see what it was like there, I couldn't help but notice that a few buildings at the POLY absolutely have the best location on site...the ones near the TTC.
Ii just loved the GF and am somewhat tempted to change my August reservation because it was so nice, but we really want to try the YC for accessto EPCOT and MGM this year.
By the way, congrats on your 40 pounds! I lost 40 too since September by walking and eating a low calorie diet! Hoping not to yo yo..trying to keep walking.:wave2:

teentoddlermom-I LOVE the Poly CL. All the concierge rooms (except suites) are in the Hawaii building right on the beach. Not the closest to TTC but more centrally located near both pools, boat launch and main lobby. It's a nice walk to TTC-certainly easier than switching monorails. I've been to the YC (w/o kids) and really enjoyed it-so nice to be able to walk home from Epcot and the kids will love SAB! Thanks for the weight congrats. I finally decided in Jan that it was time to make the effort for ME. I had 3 kids in 3 1/2 years and while weight gain wasn't a problem while pregnant it was post partum. I've been following Weight Watchers and the point system really works for me as I'm a budget analyst and so I can do it by the numbers. Now that the weather is nice I'm hoping to get more walking in. I've also got a great motivation system going-I reward myself $10 Disney Dollars for every pound lost. (I'm saving at least $15 a week by skipping my daily Dunkin Donuts stop and a few bagged lunches and far less take out dinners). I hope to "earn" enough for at least 2 AP's for our Oct/Nov trip.

ValerieK-sounds like you had a great trip! My DD did the same thing at 3 1/2-we'd go back to room for an afternoon nap(which I needed being 6 months pregnant) but she'd be revived by the A/C and then would fall asleep everynight at 6pm on the last night she slept right threw til morning. This Jan (at 4 1/2) she and her DB(3) actually took naps. I was thinking of doing the Surrey bikes at the Poly. Do you think we'd fit-there would be me, DH, DD(5), DS(almost 4), and DD(21 months) and perhaps an extra adult. Can a 5 year old peddle? I think both DS and baby would fit in the front.

I really wanted to enjoy Hawaii Concierge, but when we went, I found out at the last minute that Hawaii was being rehabbed, and they were doing concierge in Tahiti with 40 extra rooms and the same number of concierge staff. So we lucked into the only concierge left available at that point which was GF Sugarloaf. I'd love to try Hawaii another time!
It sure is tough to drive by all the Dunkins around here in Massachusetts without stopping in, but I just keep remembering that picture of me in the bathing suit 40 pounds heavier and it works!
I like your idea of rewarding yourself with the Disney Dollars, I think I'll do that for me too!:)

Hi Guys! Room wave:wave: It took me a while to catch up, you guys have been busy the past few days. All this talk about the Poly concierge is making me anxious for our trip!! I still haven't given in, the kids do not know yet. I think I will make it. My mom almost blew it, she asked my husband to pick up some disney dollars for her at the mall when he went, luckily none of them heard her
:earseek:
We got some good new finally (the first this year:rolleyes: )my daughter was accepted into the school we applied to, and they offered her a scholarship. It's a great school, very close, a really terrific opportunity for her. We are definitely celebrating today:hyper:
I am off to try to get dd (10 months) to sleep, she is resisting.
Good night!

Just peeking in the lounge to see how everyone is doing tonight.

floridafam... When is your surgery?
Please keep us posted and we're praying for you, too!
And the idea of having a deluxe room with CL access sounds wonderful! I hope it works out for you and your family!:wave2:

And a big WELCOME to the Lizard Lounge to inthemood !!!!:bounce:
Pull up a chair and have a cappucino and a zebra dome!;)

goodferry...what wonderful news about your DD!!!!!

ValerieK...Welcome back and so happy to hear you enjoyed your BC CL stay! :sunny:

steveanddonna....A BIG HELLO to our POLY LOUNGE LIZARDS!!!!!

teentoddlermom and lovesdumbo....that Poly CL is hard to beat! ::yes:: And I love your disney dollar reward thingie!
Congrats goes to you, lovesdumbo and you DO DESERVE those disney dollars!:flower1:

kacsmom...yep, those monorail resorts are hard to beat!:goodvibes

VAgal...looking forward to our Wanyama Safari and the AKL CL !!!!!!:cool2:

After a long debate......we've decided today to stay at the Poly CL for the first half of our June trip and then the suprise AKL suite and safari for our family.
The zero entry pool and the monorail access (esp for my mother) cannot be beat.

DH and I are going to add on the WL Yosemite Suite for a couple of nights on another trip.
Just not in the cards for this upcoming one!

Called and was able (for the first time) to get two LVC rooms with AP discount for all the nights we wanted.
:cloud9:

My mother is too excited for words! She loves the Poly CL and since dad never knew about the WL CL, he won't know any different.
He's never stayed at the Poly CL, so this will be a huge treat for him!
And, since the IPO (for the Poly and WL CL) already have our PS's , it's no big deal to change resorts.

Whew! I feel better now! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ditto Bambi!!!

floridafam, I hope the surgery is minor and everything comes out just fine. :)

And BTW, BT, I'm so glad you decided on the Poly LVC for your mom. You know she wanted it! You're such a good daughter.....:lovestruc

Well off to bed. I checked my favorite thread.

Nitey, nitey concierge queens....:cutie:

Bambi - I think that sounds like a wonderful trip!(I wonder why?!) That Poly/AKL split is the best of both worlds!!:teeth:

teentoddlermom & lovesdumbo - What a great reward system for losing weight!::yes:: I definitely need something to motivate me, I try to eat healthy and get exercise, but I don't obsess about my weight anymore, life's too short. But, I've been trying a lot more lately, maybe I'll give that a try!:teeth:

Well!! We went to the awards ceremony for DS (graduating next week from HS) and he got 2 yearly renewable scholarships for a total of $4500!! And, another one-time scholarship for $300 from the Optimists. For our area, that's about 1/2 his yearly costs!! We're so relieved, and proud of all his hard work!!:teacher: :cheer2: :jumping1:

k&a&c's mom--congratulations to you and your son, you must be so proud!

floridafam-keep us updated! Hope everything goes well

Debbie- any new news on your sil?

BT- your trip sounds great! Your dad will love the Poly CL and we know you will love the AKL!::yes::

Congrats on choosing the resorts you felt would make your family the happiest! It's always such a difficult decision! In the words of Dreamflight, "a vacation is a terrible thing to waste"!!! :wave2: It's best to choose wisely! ;)

k&a&c'smom and goodferry... Congrats also to your children! ::yes::

GOOD MORNING to all the Lounge Lizards out there... Happy Friday!!

Morning, All!

goodferry - somehow, I missed your news about your DD - congratulations to you, too!!:sunny:

Edited to add: Now that Melissa is back at IPO, my PS's have been confirmed and the itinerary emailed to me. They must have assigned my stuff to her, and that's why I didn't hear anything for awhile.:wave2:

I usually hang out on the cruise forum, but last night DW convinced me that we should stay on property during our FL trip this August, and now I need to do some serious research.

So that we didn't miss out on a reservation, I booked the Poly LVC last night, as part of the Dream Maker 5+2 package. Does anyone know which building they are currently using for concierge? Has anyone recently stayed in a Poly LVC room lately?

TIA for any help you can offer.

I've never stayed at the Poly before, but have heard SO many awesome things about it! There are more than a few folks on this thread who can give you more info. However, I do know FOR SURE that the HAWAII bldg. is the concierge bldg. at Poly. HAVE A FABULOUS TRIP!!!!!!!!! :sunny:

WoodysRoundup,

Were the CM's helpful when you said you wanted to move from WL to GF?

Did they say what caused the water problem?

What room were you in originally?

Sorry I have so many questions. I'm just trying to get an opinion on how they handled the problems that came up during your vacation?
