A few years ago on my first trip to WDW since a kid, my wife and I stayed in a honeymoon suite in the GF. We felt soooo spoiled and had a wondeful trip. I only wish each trip could be as special as a Royal Palm expierience!!!
Having someone meet you outside and skip the check in line. And the ropes.....couldn't go home without buying one of those.
The following year we stayed in the then Dixie Lndings resort. Even though it was a nice resort.........no way did it compare.
Now we belong to the DVC and couldn't imagine staying without a full kitchen, washer and dryer in the room.

Wow do I feel spoiled!!

Yup! That's spoiled! ::yes::

Feels GOOD, doesn't it?;)

K&A&C's mom...please keep it up!
Debbie and I are behind you all the way, girl!:bounce: :bounce:

We are pulling for you! I feel like I should be calling for k&a&c'smom too! I just know she WILL get the rooms/priviledges she really wants! After my reservations were all settled and double/triple checked, I came so close to asking about her dates!

I'll end this with... HI, My name is Debbie, and I, (along with my children), became quickly addicted to the concierge experience!

Hey, guys!!!

Thanks for all the support!!! I feel so honored!! I checked twice this a.m. and still nothing - I got so excited, the cm thought she had it booked, and said "when I put in the discount, it just disappears!!"

I can pay rack rate and get it for April 6-10 at AKL or BWI, but since DS is getting married this July, and heading to college in Aug., I would feel really guilty doing rack rate!!

The cm this morning said "Keep checking people are canceling, it will come up!" Yay!!!!!!

OK, OK, OK ......

I've just about decided to book at least 2 days of our stay @ rack rate for concierge. I'm undecided, thought we might like to split with the Poly, what do you think about the first 2 nights at Poly concierge (for monorail access), the last two at AKL? Poly is only available now from April 6-8!

Bambi - have you split your stay for as little as 4 days? Advice, please!!

Well, this morning I called DVC member Services and added another night to our AKL concierge trip. We already have the Sunset Safari booked!! Just had to add that day to go to the pin event at MGM.

Anyone else gonna be there the last of March/first of Arpil?

Hrmmm...if I may throw my two cents in here, me thinks that you will be going through lots trouble for 4 days. I would enjoy one or the other for the full 4. That's just me of course.... :) You could always try something different next time right?

Of course, I'm one to talk because I only stay at one hotel usually. :)

:hyper: THANK YOU!:hyper:

I love my new clippie, Bambi! Hey, that can be my new reason why I MUST have concierge! *My old reason was...."I work too hard at work and for the hockey team, I need this!"* I did it for the great people and the clip art! :)

Seriously, concierge allows one to STOP and smell the roses, and really enjoy their vacation to the fullest! In this crazy rushed world Disney has managed to produce this feeling in their concierge lounges, and extend graciousness and solitude to a hectic life.

Thank you again!
Debbie
How many days 'til my next adventure? What if Baby ankole grows up without me? :)

Yes! This next trip, 9 nights, 3 resorts, 3 nights each!

I LOVE to split up our stays!::yes::

Debbie....so glad you love your new clippie!
LOL! Now, you HAVE to stay concierge! LOL!
Blame it on BT!;)

k&a&c'smom.....any ideas for your new concierge clippie?
A poly one perhaps?:teeth:

I DID IT!!!

It's so exciting, I must say...(obscure Ed Grimley reference!)

I booked the Poly concierge for April 6-8, and we'll finish up at our fave, AKL, from April 8-10 (we could never feel like we've downgraded at AKL!) This way, I can sample concierge, and yet not feel guilty re: DS' upcoming events!!!

Fred - I did mull your advice, however, DD and I pack very light for short stays (don't check any luggage!) and we spend a few hrs. each a.m. at the parks, return to the resort, then eat dinner and spend the evening at the parks. We had already made plans to spend our first two days at MK, with PS at Kona and Narcoosee's, and then Epcot and MGM at the end.

Bambi - yes, please, I would love some of your clippie magic!!!! I am so excited, I hope I can keep this a secret from DD!!!!:cool1:

We've been staying at the Poly concierge since 1999, and we both love it. We just booked a last minute trip for March and we had to choose between a discounted regular room and a rack rate concierge room at more than twice the cost. We settled on a regular room since this is our 3rd WDW trip in 4 months. Now all I can think is, "we won't see Melissa or Chef Dick; we won't have that awesome pineapple every day; it just won't be the same" I guess we've gotten a little spoiled. Oh well; at least we'll be there!

steveanddonna -

I feel your pain - last March DD and I had booked AKL concierge, but due to various problems, had to switch to reg. AKL sav. view.

We still had a wonderful time, and I can assure you, the Poly std. rooms are great, too, so I think you will still have a magical stay. But it is disappointing to have to change your plans, I know.

Good luck, and have a great trip - wish we were going in March!!!::yes::

That brings up a good question. Does anyone know what the upgrade price is at check in? I know I piad $55 a night more at check in at WL in January. Is it the same at the Poly?

We are planning on going back in May but can't get availability at the lodge again. :( May have to do the Poly but I don't want to pay rack rate for concierge if I can get it for less as an upgrade.

Thanks,

Fred

I don't know the answer to your question, but you have brought up the very point I kept asking myself - wouldn't it be better to wait and try to upgrade at check-in. I figured it would be less than rack rate, if the rooms were empty anyway. But, the way rooms were filling up around Easter, I chickened out!!!

I still hold out hope for AKL at check-in!!!:teeth:

Handing k&a&c's mom the phone

Remember.. this is your best friend [phone] until you leave for your vacation! I KNOW you're going to get exactly what you want! Repeat after me.... 1-407 W DISNEY :) *I know there are better numbers, but this is the only one I have memorized!
