Welcome new lizards... welovewdwx5 and welcome home Kelli

Thanks for the lovely Poly report. I'm always ready to see a good Poly report. :)

Thanks to whomever wrote the BWI report (welovewdwx5???) I've got to start making notes as I'm reading....

Woody, I'm glad you kept the December trip. Nothing like the world in December. A little story and then I'm off to try to sleep before my trip tomorrow....

I used to go cruising for my birthday. Always hit bad weather. Lots of times the ports would have yellow flags... couldn't parasail. Then one year I sailed with Hurricane Hugo. And it finally dawned on me. I could no longer give myself trips for my birthday. September is hurricane season Now we vacation for Mother's Day or December. Forget my birthday!!! Give me Disney dollars.... No more cruises or even WDW in September!!!

Well, I'm off to see Oprah. :wave2: :wave2:

Hmmmm.....what should we do before the Grand 1 cruise on Father's Day?
Can't do the Luau, because they don't do it on Sundays and Mondays.....
we can be picked up anywhere on the Lake....
any suggestions?:scratchin

BT-Love the clippie!!!! It won't let me paste into my
sig. (PS your mailbox is full):)

I guess I was just looking for an excuse to go back sooner
I hear ya', WoodyRU! I told DH we will absolutely NOT go to WDW during the summer months, no way no how, uh-uh. We have 12 family birthdays in June followed by busy time at work, the pool & in-laws boat to enjoy, weddings, etc. etc. Now everytime I come to this thread I start thinking, "well, maybe just a 3-nighter..." We are hopeless!

Teentoddlermom,
I see that you are leaving this morning for Boca - I hope this reply is in time! The Boca Raton Resort and Club is a gorgeous hotel, and I am sure you will love it. Are you staying there for the wedding? It is a fairly large place, with several different types of accomodation with their own very distinct styles, including the Tower (probably Boca's most famous landmark), the Cloisters, the Beach Club and more. Their website (www.thebocaresort.com) will give you a great overview of the place with plenty of pictures. They also have a conference facility close to the front entrance. Is the wedding going to be held there? If it is, try and spend some time in the hotel itself, since while it is not unattractive, the conference center does not live up to the rest of the place IMHO. They have some (relatively!) good deals in the summer, and we used to go there to celebrate our wedding anniversary before we had children. A couple of years ago they built the Yacht Club (well, with a name like that we just had to stay there :) ). It has a concierge floor, so since it was our 10th anniversary, we decided to treat ourselves. Of course, now we want to go back every year :) The lounge was excellent - wonderful food and the champagne, wine and other "grown-up" beverages were out from noon until closing (9 or 10pm) :) :jumping1: We had the whole place to ourselves 90% of the time, and staff to guest ratio was often 1:1 !! The hotel also has a superb spa. If your travels and budget allow, I highly recommend a stay there.

Mike

Woody,

I agree with the other posters - I think you will be very glad you kept your December trip. We go for a long weekend the first weekend in December every year, and we love it (we also go every summer, so you may want to discount everything else I have to say since we are clearly crazy  ). Disney does an awesome job with decorating the whole of the World, and GF is one of the best (I also love what they do at YC/BC and WL). The parks are not too crowded, the weather is usually pretty kind, and the special shows are great. Watching my then 4 yo DD being absolutely entranced with the tree lighting ceremony in EPCOT is a memory I will never forget.

Mike

Thanks BT-just sent you a PM.

MickeyMac-sent you a PM yesterday! Hope it helps.

This is so funny! I've been thinking the same thing! I've always said I wouldn't go in the summer. . I *live* in Florida and it's too darned hot. . but since I have the opportunity to exchange my 4Day passes for APs (Read: save $300!), I'm thinking of going back in two weeks!

Well, it'd have to be in two weeks if I changed them in to Seasonal passes, because after 6/11 it's a blackout date, but I have until the first week in July if I exchange them for regular APs! Oooh ooooh, and after July 5, the Deluxe hotel are in *VALUE* season!!!!

But then I'm thinking. . . I won't be able to do my big trip in October, unless I stay at Pop Century! :(

So, SteveandDonna, do you think it's worth the trip for a 3-nighter? Do you fly or drive? I'll be driving, so a 7-hour drive warrants *at least* a 4 or 5-night stay! ;) Now *that's* what ya call justification! :D

OMG! we ARE cut from the same thread! :rotfl:

Trying to sneek a 3-day trip in.;)

Before you know it, it's become 4 days, then 5, heck~ hon, why can't we just do the week since we'll already be there!

steveanddonna and blowinbubbles....that's what I'm thinking about for a "quickie" December trip!:earseek:

mom_rules...I'll check my PMs.

I just got off the phone with Kathy from the IPO. She seemed nice but not overly friendly. I hope this is just an off day for her. Anyway, she is going to look into a speciality cruise and a hot stone massage for us.

I had her note that this a graduation trip for my son. I am so excited. :Pinkbounc  :bounce:

Probably so, Tammy.
She's usually very nice but not quite as bubbly as Melissa.

I spoke to her yesterday to clear up a head count on our Luau reservation, and she seemed to be a little more chipper than today.
But, she is good at getting the job done.:teeth:

Hot STone Massage. . . sounds perfectly yummy and something right up my alley! :teeth:

So, nosey question here for y'all. . . .

What is the cheapest rate you have gotten at a WDW CL Room?

As I said before, I've been compulsively planning my next WDW trip. Not to mention waffling between taking a trip in June or July *and* October, or just a big trip in October. I'm driving myself crazy!

What I'm thinking of doing is just booking the Poly CL or AKL CL *now* for October, then calling when the Fla Res rates come out and have that applied.

I'm just wondering what kind of rate I'll get. . do you think it would be under $300 a night? Or am I just fantasizing? LOL!

Either way, this is too much fun. . .:D

Cheapest CL rate was 2001...AKL CL for $229.

And I got it twice that year! the other time, it was $299 that same year.

:sunny:

You're right, BT she wasn't at all bubbly. Hopefully, she will be able to get things rolling for us. Part of our Disney vacation is the planning, so I am having kinda of a hard turning that over to someone else. I know, crazy huh?:earseek:

There are 2 Kathys at the Poly, both older ladies, one with curly blond hair (Kathy #2) and one with short grey hair (Kathy #1). Both Kathys are among my favorite Poly CL CMs. As do many of the CMs, they alternate between the concierge office & IPO. Kathy #1 is much friendlier in person than on the phone. Both are great to deal with, and Kathy #1 is particularly efficient. She has been at the Poly for many many years and is a whiz at getting what you need. I hope you'll find her a little warmer when you deal with her next time!

Thank you, steveanddonna!
Yes, Kathy#1 is the one I'm referring to, and yes, she is very efficient at getting things straight and corrected.

Now....that's the story about the Poly/WL IPO Kathy's, gang!

Ya'll have a wonderful weekend!

Hi. I just upgraded from WL to Poly GVC! I can't believe I did it! What should I know? How to best enjoy the experience? Me, DH, DD5, DD7.
