I might just bring my own if they don't have them....I have an addiction you know. Debbie was so gracious to bring them to our "lounge" a time or two and I can't get them out of my head. There's a shop close to where I work and during the summer we have youth that sell them here in our office. They go like hot cakes around here. When they're fresh, they literally melt in your mouth! If you want to get DH in a different resort, maybe some arrangements can be made ahead of time at the resort you want to try;)? I'm sure if we include CL CM's they would be more than willing to work with us - LOL!

Sorry it took me so long to respond about the BWI CL. I have been swamped at work trying to prepare for a trade show this weekend. The BWI CL is on the 4th floor. The floor has some regular rooms and some CL rooms. The lounge is behind a set of double doors that say "for Innkeeper's Club guests only." There was a spot to insert your room key, but the doors were never locked while we were there. I have heard that they have started locking them now though. As you go down the hallway after the double doors, you will come to a desk where a CL cast member is there to assist you during certain hours of the day. If no one is at the desk, there is another set of desks in the lounge itself (the lounge is further down the hall). As far as room recommendations go, I can't help there. When I stayed BWI CL we had a garden suite, so I'm not sure where the good room locations in the resort itself are.

Woody, I don't know for sure what I would recommend, but the GF RPC in December is really nice. It's great to have a wonderful place to sit to listen to the orchestra and view the huge Christmas tree. Since it's so crowded in the lobby, it's a peaceful haven in the lounge. Just my 2 cents. :)

Hello all,
We got back on Monday from a great stay at the Polynesian. It was my foster baby's first trip to WDW and we had a wonderful time.
We were in LVC so the only request that I had was non-smoking and a patio. When we arrived Thursday morning at 8:00am our room was ready for us. We had room 1517 and it was an excellent location for us. It was at the end of the hall so it was very quiet. Hawaii is a very convenient building to everything. Our view was simply amazing, even the baby was amazed that "her castle" was right outside the door! I could have sat there all day and night just taking in the sights and sounds. We had visits from the resident ducks and occasional bunny, which Lilly loved and tried to invite them in the room!
As I wrote earlier, this was a special trip for both my Mom and foster baby, so the rest of the family stayed home this time. Boy, did I feel guilty! I really felt bad that DH and DS15 and DD13 could not share in this wonderful resort. Next April my son will participate in Disney Music Days so it may be the Polynesian again, but only if I can manage the LVC. Can't imagine staying anywhere else!!
Did not recieve any towel animals, but it did not impact my stay there at all. I have seen some posts on the boards where people get all bent out of shape if they don't get them and refuse to tip housekeeping. It did not make any difference to me. We tipped daily. Room was spotless except for a very stained carpet.
We enjoyed the offerings from the lounge right on our patio. I agree with Donna, some people did not use their manners...saw many "lounge hogs" !! One guy actually had a bag and filled it with about 20 boxes of cereal and asked for the cartons of milk, which the gracious concierge hosts obliged.
We never went to MK for Wishes, just watched from our room. We saw about 4 weddings take place at Sunset Point.
One thing I didn't count on was cancelling so many PS's. Sit-down meals with a 2 year old can be tricky! My own youngest child is 13, so I guess I forgot. But we did eat at 'Ohana (dinner), 50's Prime Time Cafe (lunch), Le Cellier (dinner), Cinderella's Royal Table (breakfast), Wolfgang Puck (dinner). All of them were good. The only bad food was at Captain Cook's. Really nasty burgers and pizza. The pizza was edible but better at AKL, where they serve the same type of pizza. I think mine had been laying around for a while, not fresh. But I still ate the whole thing!
We did ask for and received a late check-out for 1:00pm which was great since the towncar wasn't scheduled to pick us up until 4:00pm.
Some of the services we used were: towncar-Tiffany, ECV-Walker Medical, & crib-A Baby's Best Friend.
Tiffany was on-time and drivers were great. Walker Medical had ECV waiting at the front desk, had no problems with it. ABBF did not have the crib at the resort when we checked in, although I told them that we would be arriving by 8:00am. It was in the room by the time we got back from the MK at around 2:00pm. So that was not a huge issue. I was able to set it up in about 15 minutes, so the baby could nap at her regular nap time.
Lilly got her very first haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop. She was very good and sat so still. Maura did a great job and pixie dusted her hair! And gave her a first haircut certificate and mouse ears hat. Very cute.
The parks were not crowded, but nonetheless, we did not venture into them past park opening. I prefer to take advantage of the early morning openings when available. If not, I still arrive about a half hour before opening. We left the parks usually no later than noon, except for the first day when we got a late start. Then we would return later.
I can't tolerate waiting for 45 minutes for Dumbo, when I know I can do almost all of Fantasyland in that same time by arrivng early.
Saturday at MGM and MK were maybe the only exceptions. It was Star Wars weekend combined with Extra Magic Hour. I have never seen that park so busy. But oddly enough, the waits were not bad. MK on saturday night was a little crazy. I think due to Spectromagic. We did not stay to watch it.
We used both pools but Lilly perferred the volcano on as she liked to wade in by herself.
steveanddonna-Sorry we did not get a chance to meet..I was looking out for those green mickey heads!!

If anybody has any questions, feel free to ask, I would be happy answer.
Kerri

WeLuvWDWx5 - Welcome, pull up a comfy chair and stay awhile!! Love your username, we are a family of 5 also!!

steveanddonna - I thought the fridge in our room was a min-fridge, but now that you mention it, it did not get really cold, so it was probably a min-bar fridge.::yes::

I too thought it was just a fridge but it did have a key in the door like a mini-bar.

My DD(turns 5 Saturday) loves to count how many in a family...and says "we're a 5 family"

Okay...here's a ques. for you guys. We're going to GF/RPC in early Dec. However, just found out today that we may have to attend a meeting for 4 days (we'd bring the kids) on property at Universal at the end of Jan. Should we try to go to WDW in Sept. to space it out a bit, or keep RPC for Dec. for the decoratons? Not sure what the crowds are like in Sept. I also don't know if we'd regret not doing RPC at Xmas? Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!! :confused3

Have a great Thursday...the weekend's almost here again!!!! :teeth:

I think I'd keep your December plans. If you've never been to Disney at Christmas you've just got to experience it. There are just so many special things going on-MVMCP, Candlelight Processional, Osborn Lights, the Santas around World Showcase, all the decorations, Christmas version of Country Bears, all the Gingerbread houses..... I think if you go in Sept you'd have a great time but then come Dec you'll be wishing you were in WDW! I think the crowds in Sept are low like early Dec. I've been 3 times in early Dec and 2 trips were very warm-1 was cool.

Woody I think I would stick with the December trip, even though it's so close to your business trip. I've been aching to get back to WDW at holiday time since we went 1st week of Dec. in 2001. It was a real trip hearing Silent Night, Polynesian style, as we walked up the stairs to the volcano pool slide! All the parks were just beautiful, the crowds were light and MVMCP was so much fun. Our youngest niece & nephew (at the time, anyways) even stayed awake for the whole evening. I think that was the night they had popcorn & hot chocolate for supper though, as they were too pooped to eat! The times we've been there from mid- to late September were not crowded, wither, but you do take a chance on a lot of rain, as it's still considered hurrican season.

Welcome home, KerriL! We tried to keep an eye peeled for you - sorry we missed each other. We were in 1503, right down the hall! Mickey heads got left at behind in a flurry of last minute packing - at least we remembered the thank you's. Was that your Mom's red ECV parked in the concierge office occasionally? Did you see the ducklings that scoped out the lagoon side of Hawaii every AM? They were adorable. We agree about Capt. Cook's; believe it or not, it's actually improved a bit from a few years ago! Thank goodness for CL - we don't have to rely on the Captain for our breakfasts and snacks!

I was there then too at the YC (before I discovered Poly). That was the lowest I've ever seen the crowds due to 9/11. I went with a girlfriend and left DH home with DD & DS. I knew I wanted another baby and was sure it would be 2006 before I got a chance to go back to Disney.:teeth: See what these boards do to you. We had a great time. Just 3 nights and I think I saw more on that trip than anyother. My friend says she'll never go back to Disney at any other time of year again.

HI to mike in fl...!
I'm leaving tomorrow am for a family wedding at the Boca Raton Resort and Club!

Will I Like it?

I have it on good authority that the Yacht Club Concierge has Krispy Kremes. :D :D

Woody - It's tempting to say Sept., as that would be sooner, and would split up your wait-time! But, as everyone else has posted, early Dec. is the perfect time to visit the World!! I'd like to go back at that time this year, but I don't think it's gonna work out! :( Low crowds, beautiful decorations, special events, fantastic!!!:teeth:

lovesdumbo - "we're a 5 family," too cute!!princess: Yes, I have seen that book on allears newsletter, I wrote down the name and author, but hadn't gotten around to ordering it (kinda forgot, thanks for reminding me!) Have you bought this book, then? Is it worth buying?!:wave2:

Welcome to the Lizard Lounge, WeLuvWDWx5 and
WELCOME BACK KerriL !!!

:bounce: :bounce:

lovesdumbo...I've scanned that book, and I felt like that it wasn't living up to the title word "LUXURY"!
No more info, actually less info, than the UG, Birnbaums, and Passporter.
When I first saw it, I got so excited...thinking it was a WDW book exclusively for deluxe and concierge services and programs, etc.
Boy! I'm glad I stood there and scanned it for 20 minutes and getting another WDW book that DH has to make fun of every night! :teeth:
ACK! Who am I kidding! I would've probably went ahead and bought it if it didn't have stickey-ickey goop all over the front pages. (And it was the only one!):earseek:

Can't have too much WDW info. ::yes::

WeLuvWDWx5....THANK YOU for the great info on BWI concierge! I know kacsmom and mom_rules, as well as the rest of us lizards, are grateful for every tidbit of CL info we can get!
And we're so happy that you decided to come on into the lounge, instead of looking in from the outside!;)
sit down in a comfy chair and have some refreshments and great conversation with fellow lizards!
:wave2:

KerriL....and thank YOU for the Poly CL trip report!
Sounds like you observed the same "lounge hogs" as steveanddonna!
Walker Medical is wonderful and they are the ones we've used for years for my mother. I have those moments that I find myself eyeing that ECV for me!:faint:
As for Captain Cook's....DH calls it "Captain CROOK's"!!!!pirate:
We'll gladly pay more for CL and forgo the CC's food.
Even though I have to make my nightly run for my tangerine jelly bellys there!:teeth:

Woody....Stay at the GF RPC for December! you will be kicking yourself around the holidays if you cancel that room!
When Pete had DIS CON 1, we stayed at the Dolphin and the AKL during the meet and it was a wonderful time to be at WDW!!!
ACK! now, look what you're doing to me! ;)
Now...I'm going to be on that darn phone trying to get a room during the first week of December!

OK, here's the deal, if you don't want that GF RPC concierge deluxe room...I'll take it!

steveanddonna...Is your b-day Oct or Nov 21st?
Nov 21st is mine....I think I misread your post.:(
never mind....

FYI....those Krispy Kremes can be found at the YC/BC, Dolphin and Swan CLs.
I try to stay away from those things....they have this incredible ability to fly into my mouth when I least expect it!:rolleyes1

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
WeLuvWDWx5 and ead79-any info most appreciated!

Can you tell me if the rooms that overlook Boardwalk are noisy?
How far is the pool and the lounge from the concierge rooms?

My b-day is Oct., BT Darn - thought surely you were a Libra just like me! You know, loves beauty, the finer things in life...Actually, it's probably better that you're on a different day - I'd hate to compete with a sweetheart like you for the Grand I or the Breathless!

Thanks for the Krispy Kreme info everyone. DH actually gets an e-mailed KK newsletter, so this might just be the key to getting him to an Epcot resort! (Well, that & the promise of avoiding the mass exodus after Illuminations.) One of his major clients used to have KKs in their employee cafeteria, but recently discontinued them, which will no doubt be good for his waistline! There is actually a Krispy Kreme just a few miles from us, but fortunately we are hardly ever in that neighborhhod. It's bad enough that there's a Cold Stone Creamery close to home!

Has anyone seen the book Luxury Guide to Walt Disney World?
Hmmm....maybe the Lounge Lizards should write a book, check out all the best restaurants, try different spa services, test the various suites and deluxe resorts...Now THAT sounds like a fun project!;)

Sign me up, I'll do research::yes::
Thanks for the trip report KerriL! We will be checking the Poly concierge out for ourselves soon, the more trip reports that come back, the more excited I get. Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself.:sunny:

THANKS for all your input regarding a Sept. trip vs. our Dec. one. I WILL keep our Dec. RPC (sorry Bambi ) I guess I was just looking for an excuse to go back sooner :moped: :teeth: :teeth: and to space our trips out a bit!!! However, you all said what I thought you would....GF/RPC in Dec. would be too good to pass up!!! Thanks again for the input!

Thanks for the report, KerriL .

Good night LIZARDS! :wave2:

Thank you so much for the warm welcome to the Lounge! I know that I am going to love it here!!

mom_rules - The BWI Lounge was centrally located between the rooms. We were one of the first rooms as you entered the Innkeepers Club, and the Lounge was further down the hall. There were more Concierge rooms on the other side of the hallway past the Lounge, so I assume that it was somewhere in the middle.

Elizabeth was correct that there was a desk when you first entered the Innkeepers Club, before any rooms. However, this desk was never staffed for our entire 8 night stay. The only place to find the CM's was actually in the Lounge itself.

As far as the distance to the pool (I am assuming the main pool....Luna Pool....and not the quiet pool), it was a fair distance. You had to go down to the main floor (2nd floor), and cross the Lobby and then go back down the elevators to the 1st floor and out by the Fitness Center to the pool.....OR..... go the main floor (2nd floor), take a different elevator to the 1st floor, and go outside, through a wind tunnel (right before Wyland Gallery) and to the pool. I guess you could take the steps down to the first floor rather than a separate elevator if you do not have a stroller. We had a stroller, so this was not an option.

Good night Lounge Lizards....Sweet Dreams....
