How many miles on your car? What make/model?

1998 Ford F-150 Extended Cab ---297,000
2004 Pontiac Grand Prix- 165,000
1988 Chevrolet Corvette --102,000

We can put the miles on a vehicle. But they are all paid off, and thankfully I am married to an excellent mechanic. The 'Vette is a toy so hopefully we will keep the miles low for a while..:rotfl:

I had a 'vette in h.s. LMBO! Good times with that Chevette. Drove that sucker around with no heat. It was like a Fred Flintstone vehicle. :lmao:

2005 Dodge Caravan-74,0000+ - paid off, had a big repair this year- a little over a thousand bucks. Not big enough for me to remember what it was, that is what invoices are for!
1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme-23,000
No joke! Our newly paid off Hyundai Santa Fe was totaled the week after we paid it off last year. At the used car dealer, our guy convinced me to drive it. The old lady who was turning it in talked to me about it. So far so good :) Let's all say a prayer on this and think happy thoughts!:thumbsup2

I had a 1999 VW Jetta that I bought new, transmission went on it in 2008 with 330,000 miles put on from countless trips to Orlando and other theme parks.I then bought a used 2002 VW Beetle with 85,000 miles which now has 136,000,hoping to get it to 200,000 at least.

I have a 2004 Subaru Forester with 168,000 miles on it. Hoping for over 200,000 miles. So happy not to have a car payment. I also will never buy a new car again and am going to try and save over the next few years to pay cash for my next car.

2009 jeep Cherokee - 64,000 miles. Paid for. Excellent condition - and well maintained mechanically. New tires all around. Has had no issues other than the driver.

I've started looking for a replacement already.

I have a 2003 VW Jetta that I bought new. It has 102,000 km on it (so I guess about 63000 miles). I usually only use it to and from work (about 12km each way) and running around town although it has gone on some road trips.

It did need a new transmission a couple of years back (but covered under an extended warranty I purchased) and new struts in the front end. However, we keep it maintained and I hope to have it for 10 more years! I love it.

My daughter had a 2002 beetle and it went to 208,000. It would probably still be working but got totalled out last year.

I have an '01 Chevy Tahoe with 201,000 miles on it, and going strong! We do all the routine maintenance, and take good care of our vehicles so that they last a long time. My husband and I both DESPISE car payments, so we pay them off and drive them fuh-evah.

My Tahoe turned over 200K on our last trip to Disney lol. But we agree that it has made its last trip. We'll be flying from here on out. At least until we get a new vehicle. I'm hoping for 300K out of my Tahoe, so I plan on driving it for a few more years. And when it gets replaced, we'll be getting another Tahoe. This is the best.vehicle.ever.

2010 Ford Expedition - bought it new a year ago. It turned over to 20,000 this weekend!

We live 350 miles from my and DHs family, and we visit them several times a year. We also have lots of great friends in Houston, which is About 560 miles. I made that trip twice this year!

We usually keep vehicles forever. DS16 has our 2001 chevy venture van.

We have a 1999 camry with 170,000. Bought new. We bought a new car July 2010 but we had a 1997 jetta with 104,000. There were other mechanical issues with it so it had to go.

We replaced it with a 2010 accord. It's our primary car and has about 18,000 miles on it. We intend to keep this one for 6 years until DD can drive.
Our plan is to replace the camry in 2012 and then in 2016 DD will get the accord an we will have another new car.

2006 Hyundai Sonata bought new with a 3-year loan, currently has about 48,000 miles. Thankfully, I only live 7 miles ffom work, and my longest drive is every couple of weeks to visit family (a 50 mile round trip). I'll drive it until it starts nickel and diming me, or utterly craps out. The last car lasted 12 years. I hope to run this one 15 years or longer.

My last car was a 2001 Pontiac grand am with 180,000 miles. I totaled it in 2008. Now I currently drive a 2007 Honda Accord with 108,000 miles. I plan on getting at least a half million miles out of it if possible. I drive my cars until they don't drive anymore.

2005 Ford Explorer with 140,000 bought it new, so far One set of new tires @ 90,000 and a full set of brakes @ 85,000 - runs like brand new.. most reliable car I've ever had and it drives awesome in the snow, I can make it up my driveway with a foot of snow on it.. I have a long up hill driveway..

I love seeing this! We have a 2002 with approx 98000 on it and we just love it!!! We are so hoping to drive it for a long, long time! It is awesome in the snow, so easy to drive and is such a comfortable ride!!!!

'97 Ford Explorer. Hit 149,000 miles on Wednesday. We got it (used with just under 120,000 miles on it) in 2004 and, thus far, it has not needed excessive repairs. We are HOPING to replace it in the next few months though

2 years later...I just got rid of this car 4 weeks ago. It had 172,744 miles on it when I traded it for a 2011 Ford Escape with 262 miles on it. The dealership had a sticker on the Explorer to sell it before I'd even driven off the lot in my new car. I would have kept driving the Explorer but it was developing some serious rust on the undercarriage. Still ran great. Just one of the many joys of living in the north:rolleyes:

Oh, and 4 weeks later, my new car has 2600+ miles on it. I drive approximately 100 miles a day for work. I love my new car, but I'll admit that I do kind of miss my old one.

I never posted....

2006 Mazda Tribute (Ford Escape). 84,000 mile piece of junk. Instead of buying my typical 5 year old Toyota for my wife, I figured we would go for something brand new instead, thinking warranty and low miles, etc. Big mistake. The maintenance is ridiculous. Things like brakes need done in 1/3 the time than I've ever done driving Toyotas for the last 15-20 years. On top of just simple brake pads, it also needs rotors every 30,000 miles, something I have never replaced in all my life. I had the suspension ripped apart in the driveway for several days fixing one thing and 2 days after putting it back together, something else went and had to tear it all apart again. I don't like working on suspension, so the 2nd time I said the heck with it and took it to a shop. First time a vehicle of mine had been in the shop since I was a teenager.

My car is a 2003 VW Jetta Wolfsburg, 94,000 miles. Nothing special about the Wolfsburg, just sportier seats with better support, leather wrapped 3 spoke sport steering wheel, monochromatic trim rather than silver trim. Has the 1.8T motor in it which was my first experience with a turbo. Absolutely LOVE it! No more dropping a gear and ripping at 6000 RPM in a 4 cylinder to climb the hills at under the speed limit. The thing just cruises uphill with no effort at all left in 5th gear. On the way to Disney 2 years ago, the Mazda (Ford) POS couldn't hold 65 mph through West Virginia on I-79 and the turnpike. I wish I had the VW for the trip, West Virginia would have been a blast driving through with it.

I have a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, with 73K miles. I bought it used in 2005 I keep up with all scheduled oil changes and the only work I've ever had to do was new breaks (the works with rotors, pads, etc.) and new tires. I plan to continue to take care of it and drive it for as long as possible, erspecially since it is paid off.

2004 Chevy Trailblazer 191,000 miles...

thanks be to God everyday it cranks :) no major problems (knock on wood) other than regular oil and some tires (I think just had to put on 2 sets other than the ones that came on it) we've only had $600-$800 in repairs in the 7 years we've owned it.

I'll just drive it until it won't drive anymore and then might just put a new engine in it :) I do NOT want a car payment!

Glad to see a couple of Trailblazer owners weigh in. I have a 2004 with 90k miles. There are times when I think it would be nice to have something 'new to me' or something that gets better gas mileage, but I so love not having any car payments!

2004 Pontiac Bonneville with 104,000 miles on it, bought used in 2005 with about 22,000 on it..so obvious not heavy use. Paid it off earlier this year and while I would love to have something newer and updated...yeah for no car payment! Only issue is that it "uses" oil, often have to add a quart between oil changes but no oil on ground and this has been going on for several years.
