How many miles are on your car?

We have a 2003 Acura MDX with about 40,000 miles on it. Before that I drove our 1996 Isuzu Oasis minivan - it was made by Honda, it's just re-branded. My dh is quite frugal & he drives that van now - it has over 140k on it. Never have had to have anything except tires, brakes, etc. done to it except for the little lever that adjusts the A/C-heat temp broke off. It has a luggage rack on the top that is starting to peel, but other than that it looks pretty good. In fact, now that I am finally allowed to drive again, it is going to be my car once again because it doesn't have a center console & that gives me more room to remove my leg brace for driving. It also sits lower than my MDX, so it is easier to get in & out of. I love the Acura though - most comfortable & quiet car we have ever owned.

DD has a 1996 Mazda 626 with about 95k miles. It has had to have some work, but the exterior still looks great. She'll drive that at least until she graduates from high school - unless she decides to pay for a new one on her own.

My dad has a 1998 Honda CRV with lots of miles - he has never had any problems with it & loves it. He & my mom tow it behind their RV, so it has had a busy life.

DHs 2004 Accord - 39K+
My 2001 Accord - 52K+
1995 Accord we've had since new that DD17 will drive when and if she gets her license.....140K :rotfl:

We've only had Hondas since 1982 and never had major problems, only routine maintenance.

I have a 2005 Nissan Murano...has 5600 miles on it.
I got it in Aug but it already had 3500 miles on it.
the car I just got rid of...drove it for 3 years...had 15000 miles on it.

yes...I don't put a lot of mileage on my cars. :upsidedow

I have a 2000 Ford Expedition with 128,700 miles and a 1995 Ford Mustang that has about 180,000 miles. Both running great!

1992 Accord. 265,000 miles on her. She is my DH's commuter car, and has just a bit of rust, and no large repairs (did the timing belt a few years ago to avoid problems.)

Wow that's good for a 1992!

I have a 2000 Mazda 626 and it has 103,000 miles on it and she's still kicking!

1995 Jeep Grand Cheroke Bought USED 112,000 Miles, Wouldn't recomend. Replaced Tranny, Differential, and Transfer Box. Air Conditioning Leaking,

1994 Chrysler Lebarron, Bought USED 114,000 Miles. Great Car in last three years had to replace battery. Should get to about 150,000 before starts blowing Oil.

1993 Subaru Impreza, BOUGHT USED 105,000 Miles Great car, Great Gas Mileage. Just replaced water pump, other wise no expenses in two years. Mechanic said it should go to about 250,000.

1992 Dodge Caravan. BOUGHT NEW, Wonder Car 139,000 Miles Two Tune Ups, Have replaced Power Steering Pump, Windshield Wiper Assembly, Fuel Pump and Timing Belt. I would say repairs less Oil Changes have been less than $ 1,000 since purchasing.

All Told 470,000 miles enough to go around the world almost 19 times

I have a 2003 Nissan Sentra. When I bought it in 2004, it had almost 30,000 miles on it. Now it has almost 40,000 miles on it. It is an otherwise good car.

I have 12,000 miles on my 2004 VW Bug. I loveit so much.

193K on my 1986 Mercedes bought used last year. Runs like a dream so I will keep it until it doesn't.

I have a '97 Cherokee with 140,000 on it and no major problems.I bought it used in '99 with I think around 40,000 on it. My DH can do the basic stuff (brakes and oil etc....) and a friend of ours is a mechanic that does anything else at his house. The only real stuff I've done to it is one new battery, a rear wiper motor and a couple of oxygen sensors.

Eventualy I'd like to get a Bio Diesel Liberty, but you can't buy them in Massachusetts :confused3 They are opeing a gas station that will sell Bio Diesel this spring/summer a couple towns over, but yet we can't buy the vehicle to use it :sad2: Stupid Massachusetts.

1989 Mercedes with 130,000 miles. Runs like new and love it.
My DH drives a Ford Explorer with over 200,000 miles on it and he loves it.

DH is in the auto pars/ repair business. We have found that some of the vehicles that hold up best are: Toyota, Mercedes ( I know, expensive...but built well), Dodge trucks, and some Jeeps.

Something to think about is the cost of repairs to certain vehicles. Foreign cars usually cost more to have repaired. Their parts are more expensive.

I currently drive a Jeep Cherokee. It's fairly new, so it doesn't have many miles...but we hardly ever sell any parts or do repair work on them (and there are a lot of them around here). So I guess that's a good sign.
I agree. DH and I are longtime Jeep owners, we both have long commutes in all kinds of nasty New England weather. We know our Jeeps will always get us there no matter what. Have had 8 between us, all models. Most have gone to 200K without any major problems. I currently have a Liberty with 25K on it, I love it. As I said on another thread today, I've bought extended warranties a couple of times and never used them. We had a Cherokee that we traded at 200K that still had the original clutch, LOL. We have a couple of good Jeep dealerships around here and love their service depts, have been regulars for a long time. We try to do the recommended maintenance and otherwise take good care of the vehicles.

Having read through many of these types of threads before, it seems to me that there is no one make of car that everyone will agree is perfect. All vehicles have problems from time to time. Our feeling is, if you find something you like, stick with it.

Our car has a bit over 11,000km/7,000mls on the odo. We usually drive our cars three to four years, max 60,000km/37,500mls and then get a new one.
It may not be the wisest thing economically, but I hate driving old cars ;)

I've had 3 Honda Civics, the first was totalled in a wreck, but it had close to 100,000 on it at the time.

The second we bought new and sold it when it was about 15 yrs old, it had probably 150,000 on it then.

My DD 21 is driving my last Civic, its a 1988 and has over 200,000. The main thing wrong with that car is....all the garbage she has piled in it!! (Ok, she's a college student, and an art student at that, but that was my fun car until she transformed it... :lmao:

our GMC truck ('94) has 160,000 miles
Our 2000 Huyndai is down with transmission problems appx. 103,000 miles

I want to be rid of both of above and get a Toyotoa 4 Runner (USED) or something maybe a used camry.

My friend had a Pathfinder and she said it wasn't good in the winter believe it or not :confused3 . She would slide all the time and wasn't going fast. She got rid of it after a year.
