How many men are wearing crocs?

Some days I laugh at what i am wearing too. take right now for instance - long cotton nightgown - hubbys large long sleeved t-shirt over that - white socks and my pink fuzzy slippers. But -hey - we are in the middle of an ice storm and I am warm and comfy.

At this stage of my life (secure enough with myself that I don't care what other people think) - as long as I am comfy - I don't care. Sneakers for me are NOT comfortable - I hate them. Actually I hate shoes - which is why I LOVE crocs. Doesn't feel like I am wearing shoes when I have them on.

I am with you 100% on this! I long ago gave up caring what other people think! I am a much happier...and way more comfortable person because of it. I couldn't care less if someone wants to laugh behind my back...or in front of my back, for that matter! I have yet to own a comfortable pair of shoes in my entire life....except Crocs. I have the All Terrain ones for winter, and I use them hiking, too. I just wish I never had to wear any other type of shoe!

My DH or DS wouldn't be caught dead wearing those things! I wouldn't want my DH or DS wearing them either. To be honest the only men I saw wearing them at WDW were kind of dorky looking to begin with so Crocs didn't affect their appearance much! LOL!

i'm a DH,
look for the lime green mickey from home depot and my crocs, and you may run into a full fledged dork,,,

it's ok to say hi,,,i don't bite,,and i can make fun of myself..I don't care how dorky they look,,,i'll take my crocs over my cross trainers any day of the week.,,,i may have to slip into my birks for downtown disney...

i'd love to have a small competition,,,if anyone is going from the 20th - 28th and want to compare crocs to sneakers let me know....it would be interesting to see the results....so if anyone is up for an experimental competition let me know...

Another happy Croc wearer here.

Didn't get them til the week before our trip, not usually recommended since one needs to break in shoes.

But didn't have any problems. In fact, it was great. Wore them all day every day for 6 days. In previous trips I've had tired feet, hurting feet and even an occasional blister.

I'll be wearing my crocs for a long time!

I am a DH and I would not be caught out in pubic wearing them. My MIL was going to get me some for X-Mas and my DW told her no, that I would never wear them. Which is true.

I did a similar thing. My SIL was about to buy them for my two DSs. I told her what I thought about them (that they look cute on little girls, but look a bit feminine on little boys). She got a bit ruffled at that.

What scares me is that, knowing my past history, it means I am doomed to wear them in the future, and will decide they are the best things since sliced bread.

I am curious so if you slipped on one of your wife's shoes, sandals, sneakers , whatever , and they were realy comfortable but obviously womens shoes, would you say hey I am getting me a pair of these girls shoes cause they are really comfortable ?

I don't care what they look like, they are comfortable and I saw lots of men wearing them at disney in May. I also have Airwalk sandles that are similar to the crocs and they are very UGLY, but comfortable.

I don't think they look even a LITTLE bit feminine. My son and pretty much every friend he has owns multiple pairs of Crocs in various colors. His friends go to school and are very much into "masculine" things and football, etc, and none of them have any concerns about looking girly. We went to his neighbor friend's birthday party last year and out of 30 boys, 27 or 28 were wearing Crocs.

I've ordered a pair for dh for Disney - he doesn't want to wear them because he thinks they're UGLY - not because he thinks they look feminine. The standard Croc styles are clearly intended to be unisex, and the mary janes and prima styles are intended for women.

I didn't own a pair of crocs last year when we went to Disney. But this year, not only do I have a pair, DW, and DS4 have crocs as well. I can't imagine any of us not wearing them in the parks. DW swears that I haven't taken mine off since I bought them. They're really the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.

I received a pair from my FIL who had an extra pair. I don't think they look feminine I just think they are ugly. You get used to them though and after a while I have been wearing them out to do errands and things on the weekends. I will bring them with when we go in Ocotber but I will not plan on them being the only shoes I wear in the parks. I wore regular flip flops the last time and my feet seemed fine but who knows????
Remember those reebok hi-tops back in the 80's they were like red or black or white, now those were feminine. Not that there's anything wrong with that.......

I think the look of crocs is more European than feminine.I used to manage a shoe store and remember when clogs for men first hit the shelves they were laughed at first then we couldn t keep them in stock.The rubber clogs such as crocs were a huge hit with chefs.

My husband swears by his Crocs Athens (thong type flip flops). He wouldn't be caught dead in regular Crocs though. But the Athens are just as comfy, and look much more "masculine", if you are concerned about such things. BTW, Crocs makes all sorts of "off-road" type styles for men that look nothing like the clogs - just check out their web site.

I've got a pair of Athens (Thong Flip Flop) and Scutes (The Slide Flip Flop) and I wear them all the time (Weather permitting).

However, I got them in all black so they wouldn't be blatant, and I don't think I'd ever wear any of the other styles.

Interesting question. I, for one, as a male, wouldn't be caught dead in the clog-type Crocs, and won't let my boys wear them, as I find them kind of fruity. That said, my DB swears by the clog-Crocs, and my BIL likes the Croc Flipflops.

Well, my wife just came back from a conference in Orlando. She bought crocs. My feet are only slightly larger than hers, and her crocs are damned comfortable I think it's time to go get some for me and the boys. This is the 4th time in my life that I've totally taken back my opinion about shoes. I did this about boat shoes in the late 80s (swore I'd never wear any, now they are my major type of "normal" shoe). I did this with TEVA type sandals in the 1990s, closely followed by Birkenstocks. Now, I'm doing this with crocs. I still think they look ridiculous, but the testimonials and trying a pair have changed my mind. However, none in hot pink

I have Crocs flip flops and they are comfy (no more so than my Birkenstocks, however). My DH says that he'd consider getting the flipflops but that he will never wear those, "god awful clogs."

Well, I've changed my mind on crocs. I have tried on my wife's shoes (generally as something quick to put on to feed the dogs), and besides the crocs, none are comfortable. They don't look so feminine in brown, and probably wouldn't in black or army green.
