How many if you DVC members took advantage of the $399 premium annual pass?

We bought 4 passes in November 2012. We have 3 trips already planned for 2013...
November, 2012 8 nights
Feb., 2013 8 nights
May/June, 2013 8 nights
November (Thanksgiving) or December (Christmas) 2013

:yay:

We actually have 10 WP&M visits left on our non-expiring tickets from a few years back. We used all the park days over 3 vacations. Still, it would have cost us more for the next year to buy the tickets that we needed, whether we got 2 - 3 day expiring and 1 - 2 day expiring, or an 8 day non-expiring, each, for the 3 trips we have planned. Since the WP&M options don't expire on our non-expire tickets we can hold on to them till after the PAPs expire and we need new tickets. Even if we renew for a regular AP we can us them with them. Since we didn't have APs, the price of the PAPs was cheaper than the DVC AP price.)

I was planning on buying them:scratchin...but changed my mind:(. I would like to "run" the Wine and Dine Half-Marathon next November, but so far, I don't have anyone willing to join me. DH is definitely interested, but he is not sure if he will be able to get the vacation time. I thought about just buying one pass for me in case I could find a friend to come along. If DH was able to get the time off and chose to join me, then I would just get him an AP and pay the extra $25. My decision was easier once they announced that the 20% merchandise discount would be changed to 10%. Silly, I know, but it was really the main reason I considered the PAP. If DH were to go with me next year, it would have been nice to try out a water park or play a round of golf at Oak Trail which we could do since we're leaving the kids with my parents. But, knowing that the trip is still an uncertainty, I couldn't take the gamble of dropping $800 on PAP's and then not being able to activate it. We are planning a family WDW trip in 2014 so that would be our "other" trip on the AP. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens to the prices next year. I think I will need to buy airfare before the prices increase and hopefully, someone will come with me:worried:.

I bought 6 PAPs when we arrived at WDW on Dec. 1. I was going to purchase 6 more before 12/31/12 to use next year but changed my mind once the 20% discount was reduced to 10%.

We just bought 3 yesterday. We plan on activating them in April, and hoping to get 3 trips in! It was such a great deal, we couldn't pass it up.

yep, they got me.

(and for cheap off-site trips, it's nice that parking is included.)

I plan to buy 5 in the morning. Have to call because I have several Disney gift cards to use. We will activate them in late March for our 6 day trip. Not sure when we will go back before they expire, but I'm already playing out many scenarios in my mind!;)

We did for DH and I. We did not for the kids since right now they are only going once with us. I hope this does not come back to bite me :rotfl2:

Just became DVC member in October and they came out with this same time. WOW what a nice start to ownership :cool1: Going twice in 2013 14 days total so it's perfect !!

Just bought 2 for DW and myself yesterday. I was on hold for 15 minutes. The CM said it was busy because of members trying to get the AP last minute just like me; Then the CM's computer wouldn't let him in so he walked me through and I did it myself on the DVC website. Set until May 2014. pixiedust:

We're still deciding...Definitely going to Food & Wine in 2013 and hoping for a 3-4 day trip in Jan 2014 ... Will want to go to food & wine in 2014, so it may be worth it. However, with reduction of discount percentage for PAP and less-likely chance of going to waterparks, not sure it's worth the $$ right now (DVC dues due and Christmas bills)...may just get the AP with DVC discount next year....what to do, what to do??

Just got off the phone with WDW ticketing. Long wait due to people like me waiting until the last minute. Bought my 5 tickets with 11 disney gift cards, and the balance on a credit card. Got an email confirmation immediately. Ready for March to get here!

We did in a roundabout way. Bought 5 APs in June and when we were there in November, we upgraded them to the PAPs and got a $27 per pass refund. We will be going again in May/June but our current PAPs will still be active. Nothing definite is planned after that so we did not buy any vouchers. Next trip after this summer may not be until 2014.

We bought 4 PAP's in October. We were going to buy regular AP's in April anyway as we were going to do April/February and possibly a fall trip as well. I just ended up buying 6 months early...and am thinking of adding a late summer trip to actually use the water pass perk. My kids aren't the water park type, so this will be a nice way to try out the Disney water parks without feeling like we wasted a lot of money.
