If you wanted to be able to do RnR, ToT, and TSMM and thats about it in HS how long would you give yourself in the park? We are splitting a day, first half in AK and second half in HS and we aren't sure what time to leave AK to go to HS so we have time to do it. We already have Fastpasses at AK and the last one ends at 2 so it has to be after that. Just am not sure with all of the closures now how much time we actually really need to spend in HS.

To be honest...We spend the whole day at AK till 5 pm. When we do HS it's all day then a break for dinner and back for Fantasmic and fireworks.

We have 8 day park hoppers. The first three days we are there we have two family members coming with us that have never been to WDW so we wanted them to see as much as possible. We are able to go back to AK later in the week we just won't be bringing the other family members with us. I just have never only done a couple of things at HS and left so I have no idea how long is realistic to actually do this three things. I am attempting just highlights for the two family members since they only get the 3 days.

Late afternoon in DHS you will find limited FP+ availability, so you will have to plan to stand in line for each of your rides if you have used your allotment at AK. According to MDE, the wait times right now (1:40 pm on a Monday) are about an hour per attraction. That should give you a ball park estimate.

We often split our day the way that you are, but make our FP+ reservations for the afternoon/ evening at DHS, and go "bare" at AK in the morning.

I'd also suggest using FPs at DHS instead of AK. If you get there at rope drop it should be fairly easy to tour without fast passes there. Just with using it for ToT and TSMM, you will be saving over 2 hours and possibly more. With the limited number of attractions at DHS, the wait times are kind of crazy.
