Hi, I have started my planing next year and have made a list of things that we want to do at MGM studios however I have not a clue how many days will be needed as I am a newbie to wdw.

The great movie ride ( depending on how suitable this is for 5 y/o dd?)
Voyage of the little mermaid
Honey I shrunk the kids set(dd should find it amusing)
Black lot tour
Beauty and the Beast
Fantasmic
Muppet's Vision 3d.
Parade.
Dinner at Mama Melrose.

(Also if my sister comes with us she will want to do RnRC and Tower of Terror.)

Any advice appreciated.

I personally think you can do it in 1 day 2 at most. Beauty and beast and little mermaid (on every 20 mins from opening time) have set times so as long as you bare these in mind you can do it but with a 5 year old probably best to spread it over 2 (or maybe one day and an afternoon or something )

Hi

I would say 2 days at a push. Pends when you are going and how busy it is. I would def go and see Playhouse Disney where you can see Bear in the big blue house, Pooh, Jo Jo its great and its every 20 mins I think. If I remember rightly as soon as you come out of one show i.e. Mermaid the Playhouse Disney wait time will be 10 mins for the next show.

If you were to go and watch Fantasmic. Think about booking a fantasmic package. Otherwise you would have to wait for nearly hour and half supposed to turning up half an before. In peak times people start to arrive at two hours before show time. We went to Hollywood and Vine. The food was ok. We preferred it there because we are fussy eaters and its a buffet so we know there would be something there we would of liked. I would suggest dining here.

Hi, thank you, I think I will give it two days that way we don't have to rush to do everything and can take a break.

My daughter is not really into Playhouse Disney so won't recognise any of the characters, she prefers nick Jr and the main Disney channel.

All the shows and attractions you have listed will be great for a 5 year old.

The Great Movie Ride will be OK, however there are some bits in it that might be a little intense, but it will depend on your 5 year old. The ride includes a gun fight which is noisey and there is a bit from Alien just avoid letting them look up at this point and they will be ok. With my children (they have both gone on this ride since being babies) I have sat them in the middle of the row between myself and hubby and if they are looking a bit worried tried to distract them.

I think the best rule of thumb for any ride is to checkout how many strollers are parked outside the ride.

Just on a presonal note we went to Mama Melrose (think our son was 4 at the time) and was not that impressed. Pizza was ok but we found there was not much interaction or entertainment for our son (he gets bored very easily) and we had to hurry our meal and leave. He found 50's Prime Time much more fun.

I would skip the Backlot Tour - the only exciting thing on it now is the Catastrophy Canyon, the rest is looking very sad :(

Some shows at MGM do overlap so if you want to see everything then 2 days is needed but I couldnt stay for more than a day and that's including a mid-day break
