How many cruisers have "sandwhiched" the cruise with a stay at WDW before and after?

Seems like we're not the only one's who prefer to "sandwhich" our disney cruise. We kind of did it on accident last year. Like many people we just couldn't decide whether to cruise before or after a stay at WDW so we just "sandwhiched" our trip instead. It worked out so well for us, that we're doing the same thing this year! Staying at VWL for 4 days, doing the 4 day Wonder and then going back to VWL for 3 more days. I love doing this because if we had to fly home right after the cruise, I'd be experiencing post cruise depression. You're on such a "high" when you get off the cruise that going home would be a let down. Don't you agree??

My DH and I did that for our honeymoon in 1998 and we are doing this again with a HUGH family group in October - November 2002 (we have 25 people - 9 staterooms are booked on the wonder). I think this gives you the best of both worlds. We are doing the 7 day land/sea (CR and wonder) and then 3 more days on land after the cruise at CR. We are looking forward to this and are oh so excited!!

Have a awesome trip.

Did it last year and are going to again.

We will stay at OKW a week before we cruise (western) in December. We will not visit WDW outside of the Very Merry Mickey Christmas Party, but will go to Sea World for the first time (and maybe relax).

We are going to try it this September.
We will be at the AKL before our cruise and at BCV afterwards.
Its our longest trip to WDW and a short cruise in the middle seems like a great way to go.
It will get us away from the parks on the weekend, when they will be busier and the on-property resorts can be slightly higher cost (at least they are more DVC points for Friday and Sat.)

I am glad to see it works for so many.

We're doing exactly that this year. 4 days at the Beach Cub, the Wonder, and then two nights at the Swan at $60.00 a night per room with starwood points. For a family of seven, we need two rooms, couldn't pass up that rate.

We decided to come back to WDW after the trip to unwind a little. No parks during the day, just resort fun. At night we will attend MNSSHP and HHN at US. Never been to either.

We did just the opposite last year...sandwiched WDW between two Wonder cruises. It turned out that we enjoyed the cruises more than WDW, where the cost-cutting measures were pretty apparent even before 9/11. This year, we're just doing three Wonder cruises in a row, although we might run out to WDW for a weekend if we can get a decent airfare.

We didn't do it last year, and we regretted it the minute we arrived back at MCO.

This year, we're doing PO Riverside for 4 nights, then 4-night Wonder and two more nights at Riverside.

DH and I aren't telling Grandpa (his father) that we're going back after the cruise. I think we can get away with it until we actually arrive back at WDW!

It'll still be depressing to leave, but at least we'll have had two more nights!

We're doing it in August. Three nights at the Poly before the cruise, then two nights at the YC after. We originally planned on a few nights at Vero, but after reviewing transportation options and some other things, decided to do the Poly instead. The YC was added later, as we realized we had a coupel extra days of vacation because of the holiday weekend, so figured we'd stay a couple extra nights.

Our return flight from Orlando landed at 8:00PM tonight. We arrived in Orlando 5/15 at noon and spent the rest of the day at WDW. We drove to the port and stayed at the Radisson. We were on the 3 night pin trading cruise. We stayed at the Dolphin for two nights and our flight returning to Newark today left on time at 5:45PM. We got to the airport too early today. We turned in the rental car to National 3:28PM, there was no wait for checking in luggage at Continental using E-ticket checkin. There was only a 5 minute wait at security. DH got wanded, had to remove his shoes, and his pin bag was searched thoroughly. We love adding on days before and after the trip. We got the $99 pre-cruise special at the Dolphin and had no problems at all. We purchased the $10 refillable mug and got our monies worth even for just 3 days. We even used our DC club at the Dolphin resturants and got a 20% discount on food. We ate most of our quick meals at Tubbies.
