How long to hotel if we use DME?

We had a glitch with RAC and in the course of my conversation with the guys working the desk, I was told the trucks that transport the luggage to and from that airport run every three hours between Disney and the airport. The bolded makes sense based on that information.

It does, especially since you're also told that you have to check your luggage with RAC at least 3 hours before your flight.

Yeah, I learned that the hard way. I checked with two different CM about 1.) making sure we could do RAC even though we were using a car service and 2.) what time should we leave the resort for our flight. I took their "2 hours prior" to mean have the bags dropped at the same time as our departure, neither said there was a 3 hour cut off for the bags. So I hand off the bags to one guy and off he went with them. CM#2 goes print my boarding passes and realizes we were at 2.5 hours prior so we couldn't do RAC. Not a huge deal but I wish I would have gone directly to the desk with my questions instead of relying on the CL CMs.

I would think those truck would have to leave more often then every 3 hours, especially going to the airport, Id' say hourly to 2 hours max, it's most likely based on . My feeling is they use 3 hours as a standard time frame for everything DME related. Take for example a couple weeks ago, I had a 1220p pickup for a 330p flight. So if I arrived at 1200p to give myself time to check bags etc. and at worse case the previous luggage truck leaves between 11:00 and Noon then next one wouldn't leave until 2:00p and 3:00p. There is almost no way my luggage is making it in time for my flight, especially if they encounter traffic.

Coming from the airport I would say 3 hours is the longest they wait and that would be during slow times, such as first thing in the morning. During peak times when they have lots of arrivals, they most likely have certain routes/stops the trucks make to drop luggage. It's probably similar to how they group the DME busses as it would make no sense at a busy time to have the truck and or bus say make AK Lodge, the Contemporary, and then OKW. During a slow period I would imagine that the trucks leave at certain intervals, but during those peak times I'd bet that once a truck is full it leaves.

Well, it sounds like you got accurate information from the CMs. They just didn't give you EXTRA information that would have helped you. The same thing might have happened if you went to the desk to ask.
