How long to get inquiry replies from VBRO?

I have sent inquiries to about 6 different condo owners for Windsor Hills condo rentals. Since Thursday night, I have only heard back from 1 person. Separately I contacted Florida Sun Vacation Homes and they responded promptly but their prices were higher than many of the others. I also heard back from Vacation Central Florida promptly, but he only rents in 7 day increments.

How long does it usually take for the owners who list on VBRO to get back with a quote? Just curious. I'm used to calling a hotel and getting info right away. This process with only being able to email seems to take a lot longer. Many of the rooms are filling fast, so I'm getting anxious now.

I used the WindsorHillsRent site and put my information in. Within about 15 minutes, I had over 15 responses.

I believe they must be automated because they were so fast, but most did have the number of days I put in, and the total cost of the unit.

I booked a 3bed/2bath new townhome last night, for June 14th-28th for 14 nights for $1250 plus tax and $65 cleaning fee.

This is my first time booking something other than a hotel/resort. I'm excited to have the extra space!

I forgot to mention that I did also put in a request for one condo on Windsor Hills Rent. That was this morning, and have not heard back from them yet either. It's the weekend now, so maybe it won't be until Monday.

I remember when my mom used to plan our vactions when I was a kid. She had to write a letter and send the request via snail mail with a check to make reservations. Here I am so anxious and want to know now. :rotfl:

Some owners will be faster than others. I would hope that owners would respond within 24 hours under normal circumstances, but not always.

If it has been a few days I would check out other properties.

You could also try

www.windsorhillsrent.com (Windsor Hills)
www.windsor-palms-orlando.net (Windsor Palms)
www.stayatEmeraldIsland.com (Emerald Island)

for other options in the same area.

Just curious whether you rented a townhome or condo? The townhomes have 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, while the 3 bedroom condos have only 2 bathrooms. There are no 3 bedroom 2 bathroom townhomes...

I would expect to have a reply back with 24 hours - if not sooner. it is a very competitive business and I am surprised that some owners do not reply that quick :confused3

I've used vbro and some owners never respond. If they haven't answered you in 48 hours you will probably never hear from them. :confused3 Just my experience. Not the best business practices, I know.

I agree, I contacted about 6 and had 2 replies right away. The other 4 never bothered. Another frustrating thing is when there calenders are not updated.

Yes, your right. It is a 3 bedroom/3 bath townhome.. it was a typo.

It's located on a street called Sir Kaufman Court.. does anyone have a map of WH that can tell me where exactly that's located? I have the address also.

TIA,

I think there is a map of windsor hills on the windsor hills rent webisite - i know when we rented, we wanted to be close to the clubhouse. so we were looking for particular streets, blocks, etc. most owners should be able to send you the location/street location/building number, though they may not give you the specific address due to security issues as they post calendars as to when the home is booked. the first time we stayed we were on maneshaw. we loved the location and since we could not rebook with the same owner due to unavailability, we booked with another across the street and a few homes closer to the clubhouse. the location to us was important as it could be the difference between a 2 minute walk and a 15 minute walk - and we walk enough at the parks all day.

Thank you. I've seen that map, but I can't make out the names of the roads. I do have an address, at least it's a 4 digit number followed by "Sir Kaufman" so it looks like an address to me.
Since you can park right in front of the door of the Townhouse, if we have to drive it won't be so bad. We'll just need lots of towels to try and keep the seats dry.
It would be nice to be able to walk to the pool though.

i am sure there will be plenty of towels for you at the townhouse:thumbsup2
oh, and you got an absolutely great price for 14 nights in june. I would not mind driving or walking a bit further for that rate:goodvibes I am sure you will have a blast. My husband enjoyed it so much, he will not even consider a hotel room in disney again - there are 5 of us so the townhome worked great. Sorry you cant read the map, if you want a definite location, email your owner, i am sure they would be glad to send you a better copy.

I also used the Windsor Hills site and I had many prompt responses. I have rented the Villa del Sol or Jewel of the Sun for November-total with pool heat, taxes and no security deposit-$831 for a week!! You can't beat that. It is a three bedroom townhouse with pool.

The owners seem very nice and very responsive. I am counting the days!!

You will be able to walk to the pool, and since i just realized that you are going in june, it will not be a cold walk. - we go in november when it can get chilly, so we walk fast. It might only take you 10 minutes or so, but it is a wonderful safe walk, and you can check out sights on the way. one morning, i got up early and strolled around the windor hills development just checking out the different houses, etc.

ok, try this. go to http:/www.globalresorthomes.com/windsor-hills-resort.cfm and click on view properties in windsor hills on left.

this will bring up a map of the resort with a few streets. the town homes are the ones in gold. to get an idea as to where your home is, go to the scroll box underneath the map. scroll till you find homes with sir kauffman court address. click on them and the locations will blink on the map above. if you can find an address close, you will know near where you will be. :cool1: good luck i could not find my map or i would have just provided an attatchment for you.

Here is a satellte view of the resort. I've put an arrow by the club house and sir kaufman (it's toward the bottom).

I thought it was a great price. Even after taxes and the $65 cleaning fee, it comes to only $105.5 per night. It's a brand new townhouse, the first booking starts at the end of March. I'm thrilled to have found it, and my daughter is thrilled with the little private pool.
There's also no security deposit, which is a big plus too!

Thank you KTY, I'll try that link now.

Do you think I'll need to heat the pool? I like warm heated pools, but this is only a 12x12. Wouldn't the sun keep it warm enough? We'll probably spend most of the pool time at the club house one anyway. I think the novelty of the little pool will wear off when DD starts missing a slide..lol. The heating price is VERY reasonable, but I wouldn't want it too hot since we'll use it for cooling off I think.

I'm very excited, our first time renting like this. It'll sure be different than a hotel/resort.

I checked that link Kty, I found an address just one away from the one we're renting, and looking at the map ALnRYSmom has above, we seem to be directly under the "a" in Kaufmann.

We stayed at a townhouse on Otterspool this January and would not have wanted to walk from there to the pool. I would imagine it will be hot and humid when you are there and there is plenty of parking near the clubhouse. I don't know how long the walk would take--maybe 5-10 minutes. Whatever you decide I think you will love the townhouse and Windsor Hills-- we thought ours was so great that we never want to cram into a hotel room again:thumbsup2
