I've been told that the Disney Resale Board meets every week (I believe on Wednesday) to decide on exercising the right of first refusal. I think part of the variability in decision timing is the time it takes for the resale broker to actually get the documents to
DVC, and the amount of follow-up they do after the Board meeting to get the answer back to you.
As an example, if you had an offer accepted by the seller today, and your resale agent gets the paperwork in DVC's hands by Friday, it could be reviewed next Wed and, potentially back to you by email next Friday. On the other hand, if the resale broker just puts it in an envelope, it misses the mail tommorow, doesn't get to DVC until Monday, it might miss the meeting next week.
Jaki was very good in handling our resale Purchase. I'd suggest you ask your resale person how / when they delivered it to DVC (e.g. hand delivery, Fed X overnight, snail mail) and push them a bit, IF you have a need for a really fast decision. If you don't plan to use points until next summer, then let it take the normal path.
