Hello! We are visiting Animal Kingdom on a Saturday and then have a 7:20 p.m. for Be Our Guest (couldn't get one for all of us on our MK day unfortunately).

We will have our own car- how much travel time should we allow to make it in time?

Thanks!

This is probably the two most distant points on WDW property. Even with your own car this is going to take you at least an hour. Getting to the MK means driving to the main parking lot and then taking the monorail/ferry across Seven Seas Lagoon to the entrance of the park.

Yuck well I'm happy we got a reservation at all so if we need to spend a lot of time traveling so be it... I'll keep checking on ADRS that free up for our MK day though ;)

My experience with this one (we always drive at WDW) is about 15 minutes from the AK parking lot to the TTC parking lot. Then you need to allow another 15 - 20 minutes to get from parking lot to monorail to the gate. A few minutes for security and entrance. For a 7:20 ADR at BOG, I would want to be leaving AK by 6:20. That will likely get you to your ADR a bit early, but I would rather be early and allow for a snag in your transportation, then be stressed and rushed.

Unless you are staying offsite and need to have your own car it will be quicker to take a bus between AK and MK since the bus goes directly to the MK.traveling between parks we have found that 80% of the time that Disney transportation is faster between parks than a personal car. We have broken up into groups using personal cars and using Disney transportation and all but 1 time the Disney transport group has arrived faster and it is not from getting lost on property because it is with people that know the property well.

When we were there 4 weeks ago, there were no direct buses from AK to MK. We ended up catching a bus to POp and then transferring to a MK bus. It took just under an hour.

Was there a sign up at the MK spot that said busses weren't running?
If you check EasyWDW, Josh was there on Oct 19th and posted the picture of the bus directory showing that MK busses depart from slot 16....

Second this question. Is the PP making an assumption (as so many have before) or were they actually informed of this somehow? 'Cause there's been park-to-park buses for quite a while now.

Just ignore my last post. I was confused with our day at BB, not AK. I am blaming jet-lag after a 14 hour flight from LA back to Australia.

No worries. I can understand that kind of jet-lag! :goodvibes

Ahh - that makes sense. I imagine it's for the same reason they aren't direct busses from DTD to MK, to cut down on people parking there for free and then taking te bus to MK.
