How long does a resale purchase process take?

Looking for estimates, of course. But, looking to see how long a buyer should expect it to take from submitting an offer to points showing on your account?

There is tread with some actual timelines to close, may be helpful. It takes about 2 weeks, if I remember correctly, after closing to get your points in the system. Here is the link http://www.disboards.com/threads/closing-time.3392820/.

I am still in the process of my first purchase, waiting on ROFR. Broker indicated we should close 60 days after ROFR. If that works out, it will be over 3 months from offer to being able to make a reservation. Have read it can vary greatly depending on the sellers response time and Disney.

@DVCBillyJoeBob is correct - we're around 55 days now total and are waiting to close this week. Hopefully we'll have our membership number and points by the end of July.

From start to finish we were under 90 days. That was as of earlier this year. the timeline depends upon your seller (how fast they return documents) and the title company. Good luck.

Thanks. My seller seems really motivated to get rid of their contract. So, hopefully, I have the same experience as you. I need those points! haha

Waiting on member number and member package so as of today we are 53 days I expect our DISNEY infor to be in maybe the end of next week based on what I have read

We are at day 69 in our process, started 5/3, already closed and recorded with the county, just waiting for the points to show up in our existing account. Luckily we had a motivated seller that was extremely prompt in returning his paperwork.

It was 89 days from acceptance of offer to the points showing up in my account when i bought/added on via resale last year.

Final timeline:

Sent for ROFR: 4/9
Passed ROFR: 5/7
Received closing docs: 6/10
Funds overnighted: 6/11
Closed: 6/14
Deed Recorded: 6/15
Received Membership # in the mail: 7/8

We just completed 2 contracts from resale. Both of the contract were put into our system on 7/11. One started on 4/25 and another on 4/27. So the time it took from contract agreement to points being available was 75 and 77 days.

Since March of this year we sold two contracts and bought one by resale.
The first one we sold:
81 days from offer accepted (March 18) to funds received (June 7), then almost 2 weeks to see it removed from our membership page.So a total of 94 days in all.
The second resale was a contract we bought:
86 days from offer accepted (April 3) to contract listed on our DVC membership page (June 28) and available for use.
The third contract was another one we sold:
53 days from offer accepted (May 19) to funds received ( July 11), but not yet available on our membership page...should be in another week. So all in all this was a quicker 67 day process.
I'm sure the reason for the faster process on the third resale was due to everyone holding off on buying/selling after the perks were slashed as of April 4th so less transactions for the title companies and Disney.
