This has probably been on here before but can't find. Trying to find out how long before your date of arrival do you have to cancel your reservation to get your money back. Another reason I'm wondering is the date I'm trying to get is booked so looking to see if I can pick up a last minute reservation, can even go a week or so out. Otherwise I'll go the expensive time of year I'm trying to avoid lol, but also like to know what my options are as far as cancellations.

tink, if it's room only, it's 5 days in advance per my reservation printout which has me checking in 3 days from now. Bama Ed

BUT..... If your objective is "When do I check back?" the answer is more complex then that. Typically you will see cancellations surge at around the 30 day mark. This is for the "Package" cancellation time as well as the Fast Pass reservations. Sadly many folks make reservations, with no intentions of keeping them, so they can get their Fast Passes scheduled at the 60 day mark. Once they are within the 30 day mark (the time at which you can schedule Fast Passes without reservations), they will go ahead and cancel their reservations because they no longer need them. (Cancelling reservations won't cancel FP+)

Of course you should also check "Daily" anyway up to that point. Many folks will anticipate a vacation and make their plans upwards of the 499 days out. They do this because they know their desired times may be difficult to get (Holidays, special events, etc...) but then as time gets closer, they realize they will not be able to make it and cancel them when they confirm they will not make it. (We had reservations for Mid April 2017, but realized it just won't work, so we cancelled them a couple of weeks ago).

Checking regularly online AND by calling a CM is the way to go. Sometimes the "Openings" aren't available because your times don't fit into the scheduled blocks, but a good CM may be able to get "Creative" to make it work manually for you. It's always worth the shot. Remember, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" :D
