How Late Does Magical Express Deliver Luggage?

We're usually morning or midday flyers so this has never been an issue before. This time we have a 5PM flight the evening before Thanksgiving (so there may be delays) which will get us into Orlando at about 7:45 assuming we are on time. How late will Magical Express deliver our luggage to our room? I'm wondering if we should just claim it ourselves and bring it on the bus. If not, I would pack PJs/necessary toiletries in my carry on just in case of a luggage delay. Thanks for any advice you can give!

The only guarantee Disney gives for luggage delivery is the same day. This is why they recommend that you pack any medications and essential items in your carryon to be on the safe side. I've heard that they can be late. This is one of the reasons why disney placed the cut off arrival time at 10pm to insure that guests are not getting someone at their room at midnight. I hope that helps you a bit.

When I stayed at Pop Century in July, my flight landed at 7:45 P.M. and my luggage was delivered at midnight. I had called luggage services at 10:30 P.M. to ask about the status of my bag, and they offered to hold delivery until the next morning. I requested that they bring it to my room that night because it was "on its way". That was the first time in ten years that I had ever been woken up by a cast member and experienced a delayed luggage delivery. Usually, you get your bags about three hours after landing. I will not be booking any more evening flights to Orlando and if my flight does get delayed, I will bring all of my own bags on the Magical Express bus.

It depends on which level of resort you are staying at. Values only deliver bags until Midnight, while moderate and deluxe resorts will deliver 24/7.

Keep in mind when you land has nothing to do with when your luggage will be delivered It is the time you check in that counts. DME aims to have your luggage delivered to your room within 3-4 hours of checking in, if you are staying at a resort that will deliver them around the clock. So Cubicleprisoner, you bags were not late, but just in time.:)

Even if you choose to bring your bags with you, it is always wise to pack what you need for the first 24 hours in your carry-on. Just in case the airline should misplace your bags.

I would pack what you need for that first night and morning in a carry-on and when you check in ask the front desk to hold your checked luggage until morning.

Thanks everybody! I think we'll plan on picking up our bags and bringing them on the bus. I don't want to have to worry about what time the bags are coming at night and I definitely don't want to have them held until the next morning.

We have flown in late on a few trips & picked our luggage up ourselves. Later in the evening it seems the DME isn't crowded. Nothing like when you fly in the morning or early afternoon.

I tip the DME driver for helping me with my luggage.
