How is Verizon's Cell Service in the Parks!!!

I have a tri-mode phone and wondered about the cell service for Verizon in the various parks. Any information you can provide would be great.

I don't plan on purchasing a calling card this trip. I will just use my cell...that is if it works in the WDW Parks.
 
i purchased new phones with verizon right before my trip last month and they worked perfectly in the parks
 
I called home to family from the Fantasmic Theatre....while waiting for the show to start. I had great reception. We also called from the resort and while traveling. I had very good service except for an area in KY or TN. Have a great trip!!!
 

The only place that I had a problem was in the hotel room (Pop Century). I had to be careful that I wasn't roaming, which seemed to happen if I wasn't somewhat near the door. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of.

There is a service boundary area between primary and secondary network right around the BTMRR/Splash Mountain area - I have found that odten, I would need to walk towards Adventureland or the Castle to stop roaming

My DH and both have Verizon and used it countless times without problem.

The only problem is hearing the phone ring. I keep it in the camera bag and would often miss calls.

and my only problem was I didn't know FL was not on my plan. I had an Eastern seaboard plan, and funny enough, they don't consider FL to be on the Easters seaboard!!! When I got home I had a roaming charge of $25 for the 27 minutes I was on the phone. Reception was great, no problem making or receiving calls, just make sure you are in your area.

We used our phones to both call home to MA and between the other members of the family that were traveling with us and they worked great.
 
My DH works for Verizon Wireless and has asked me to share this with all of you. Verizon Wireless's network is made up of their own service area and affiliations with other carriers. Your cell phone is designed to scan for the best signal possible, looking for the Verizon signal first and then that of the affiliate before receiving a signal that would be considered "roaming".

One way to insure that your phone is scanning properly is to do a software update in a Verizon Wireless owned/operated area. Simply dial *228 and press send. Listen to the prompts on the phone and select option #2, and listen to the "elevator"music. When it's done, you will be told "Your phone has been programed successfully".

Also you should be sure that you are on a National Plan. Either the America's Choice or the Single Rate National plan. On the Single Rate National there are no roaming or long distance charges anywhere in the 50 U.S. states.

Remember you can change your calling plan anytime.
 
The only place my Verizon had troubles was in Pinocchio's Village Haus. It couldn't get a signal.
 
We never had a problem this past March in POP Century, but we did have a problem in our room at DAK Lodge. Many times it said we were roaming. When it didn't say we were roaming, we'd try to make a call and would be cut off after a few seconds of talking. This is the only problem we've had property-wide.

What plan do you have? We have used our Verizon Wireless phones from our rooms at the AKL to call back to MA and other places without any issues. This was during our last two trips to the AKL Feb of 03 and Jan 04.
 
We've never had a problem with our service in any of the parks.

We use verizon's free 14.4k dialup to give us internet at WDW. With Nights and Weekends it means free internet. The service at POR and the parks had high signal, except for a couple times in the room we had lower signal. Verizon seems to have good coverage in WDW. We're sitting in the Tampa area now at a restauraunt with wireless , WDW in about 2 hrs!!!!
