Yes, anyone doing a split stay has an extra "arrival" day in the middle of their trip and can take advantage of this perk.It'll be a nice option for changeover days on split stays.

For people coming from the west coast (and want to go to World rather than Land) could get in early and make good use of it.I don’t see it being heavily used. It’s mostly beneficial for people that live within 2-3 hours at most.

Disney is expensive, so if you are looking for value, this could drive people off-property the first night so they move into their Disney hotel and use the water park on day 1.

I think that is what they mean…they arrive the night before, stay off site, and then head to Disney hotel first thing…now they get the full water park day.
