Can you go to both water parks in the same checkin day or do you have to select between the two?
Normally, only one water park is open at a time. May change next year, but it's doubtful. Can you go to both water parks in the same checkin day or do you have to select between the two?
My recent late-Oct & early-Nov trip overlapped when they transitioned from TL to BB, and I saw some of the same CMs at both. I think that they're only staffed to have one water park open at a time. Pre-covid, I think that they had both open at the same time, but since then, they've only had one open at a time. Who knows when they'll both be open at the same time again.Normally, only one water park is open at a time. May change next year, but it's doubtful.
Its been almost 5 years since covid and we are still using it as an excuse for cutbacks in services and staffing. When are we going to say enough is enough and those excuses no longer pass muster? My recent late-Oct & early-Nov trip overlapped when they transitioned from TL to BB, and I saw some of the same CMs at both. Is attendance driving just opening one water park? Having a free water park use on your checkin day could support that hypothesis, but not sure if anyone has more info on that.Normally, only one water park is open at a time. May change next year, but it's doubtful.
..only if people use it..You'd think that the free water park day perk will mean they will need both open but who knows.
Until enough guests come to make it worth opening both water parks simultaneously. I just don't think the crowd support is there, personally. Its been almost 5 years since covid and we are still using it as an excuse for cutbacks in services and staffing. Not sure what percentage of customers arrive early to use it and want to venture out on their partial-day
I don’t see it being heavily used. It’s mostly beneficial for people that live within 2-3 hours at most.
We often arrive around 8:30am due to the early flight. We'll also be taking advantage of this. Our flight in January arrives at 10:00 am....so we are looking forward to heading to the water park for check in day....gives us something to do while we wait for our room (which is bound to not be ready).
Same for our trip next October....we plan to arrive as early as we can so we can do the waterpark on check in day!
Best wishes that the weather on your January arrival day is conducive to a water park visit! Our flight in January arrives at 10:00 am....so we are looking forward to heading to the water park for check in day....gives us something to do while we wait for our room (which is bound to not be ready).

I think it's a staffing issue, too. Maybe they will try to hire more if there is a true impact by the offer. I would not take advantage of it, not a big fan of the water parks, I'd rather stay at the resort pool while I'm waiting for my room. But I do think it is nice for other people! Is attendance driving just opening one water park? There will be some but I still don’t see it being highly utilized.
It is definitely a plus for those who are cash guests and it is being considered when they are booking packages.
But, for DVC…maybe it won’t be as popular.
