In theory being key hahahaFun! It sounds like it should be relatively easy. There’s quite literally nothing for you to do but go to the water park on check in day and scan in via the Disney app or your magic band. The water park scanner is programmed to let you in on any check in day.
In theory this should be seamless…
We are doing this by accident (and often do) we usually stay at BCV or VGF and have to reserve rooms 11 months in advance, by the time we book flights, we often have an orphan night at the beginning or the end. We’re going to be staying at an airport hotel on arrival later this month, and if the weather is nice, we’ll plan to hit the water park on our check in day…but I think it’s a more valuable perk from May-Sept.For people coming from the west coast (and want to go to World rather than Land) could get in early and make good use of it.
Disney is expensive, so if you are looking for value, this could drive people off-property the first night so they move into their Disney hotel and use the water park on day 1.
I cannot imagine doing a waterpark immediately after getting off a 5h (or less) red eye, but I have nothing but respect for those people who can!redeye flight, land at 7am-ish, drop off bags and head to the waterpark. As I'll likely do in February.
Depends how well you can sleep on the flight.. ;-)I cannot imagine doing a waterpark immediately after getting off a 5h (or less) red eye, but I have nothing but respect for those people who can!
Now you have me wondering if we can get a cheap enough studio during our August stay that we can just book one as a one off to visit a water park.We have a split stay in August, so we plan to take advantage of it. We haven't been to the waterpark in years so it will be a nice change of pace.
It might be cheaper to just pay for the waterpark, or as an add on to an AP. Depending on the number of people. Remember, if the waterpark is at capacity (and we have no idea what the actual demand will be, especially in the hot summer and if only 1 park is open), you won't be let in. So paying for an extra night (or using your points) may not be worth it.Now you have me wondering if we can get a cheap enough studio during our August stay that we can just book one as a one off to visit a water park.![]()

There are likely to be 4 of us, sometimes we get a 5th when an extended family member tags along. Given that I usually try to avoid using points at less than $20/pt value, would be really hard to make the math work vs. using DVC pricing, which I had no idea about until today! Thanks @Sandisw!How many people? If you are DVC Y, we get tickets for $49.95 each.
Does anyone have experience using the waterpark benefit on a day where you keep the same room, but the reservation number changes?
For example, I book a BLT studio for Sept 1st through 4th with a BLT contract. I also book a BLT studio Sept 4th through 8th with a CCV contract, so these are 2 separate reservations with different confirmation numbers. Typically, I am able to keep the same room by contacting DVC in advance and asking again at check in. Would there be water park admission on Sept 4th like a split stay that changes resorts?
Thank you!It will show on the MDE website if you have the water park benefit loaded on your account or not for that day.
Thanks for asking, I was curious about this myself.Does anyone have experience using the waterpark benefit on a day where you keep the same room, but the reservation number changes?

It should work since they are different reservations showing in MDE. When I tried to have the dining plan on the first night of my trip it was canceled when MS made the connection to the other reservation so fingers crossed for you.Does anyone have experience using the waterpark benefit on a day where you keep the same room, but the reservation number changes?

Have they done this for 2026 yet? Have a late May trip booked that I am not sure if qualifies for "summer" or not for the Summer 2026 free water park promotion. It will show on the MDE website if you have the water park benefit loaded on your account or not for that day.

Has anyone done both water parks on arrival day? We are pondering switching up our plans to do park/break/park, but worried it will be too tiring (or lines at second water park will be too long).
