How is the Park Vue Inn?

I was wondering about cleanliness, and noise, as well as the size of the rooms. Last time we stayed at the BWPPI in a mini-suite, we had a good time, so we are looking for something comparable. It is all about location for us. Also how is the pool? large enough, not to cold. Thanks for any help, I am wavering between the two and could use any advise. :goodvibes

I am no help here, but am bumping this thread because I'm curious, too. Especially about the room with the hot tub!

We stay there every year. The rooms always seem clean enough. I like that they no longer have bedspreads....they just have these table runner looking things along the foot of the bed. Do hotels ever wash the bedspreads?

As far as noise, we always request a room upstairs in the back of the property. They can't guarantee it, but we have always asked and received one. Which could partially be due to the type of room we reserve (2 queens, non-smoking) That way we don't hear people above us, and we are not close to the street. We always sleep with the ac fan on during the night, which helps drown out any outside noise.

My DH, DD and niece swam the last night we were there. This was about 3 weeks ago, and it was our coldest trip ever in early Dec. Even though it was pretty cold outside at 9:30 at night, DD and her cousin had a blast in the pool....with no complaints about the it being too cold. So I guess it was warm enough. (DH stayed in the nice and warm hot tub, and said he didn't feel the pool to check the temp.) They were the only people in the pool area.

Thanks for the review, DTDkettleCORNfan! That's definitely a "good thing" that they have the new "table runner" style of (non) bedspread...after getting used to staying in places with that style of bedding it would be hard for me to go back to the "do they ever wash these? :scared1:" style of bedding

We just got back from a stay there. Can't speak to the pool, but the rooms were clean, staff was super friendly, and the location is prime. Here's how I would break it down:

The Good:
Location (of course) is about as close to the parks as you can get.
Free Breakfast, it was great to start the day with waffles. And they make sure to start it early enough so you can get to the parks at opening, even MM.
Staff, they were always helpful and friendly.
Welcome basket, it contained fruit, water, wine, glasses, and a corkscrew.

The Bad:
Room Size, they are small, even smaller than I had expected.
Noise, but we were on the downstairs near the front, so we had people walking by constantly.

The Ugly:
That one staff guy late in the lobby :scared1: Just Kidding.
The Wine in the welcome basket was pretty ugly, the $1.99 special I think.

Thank you for the replies, I think I will go for the suite with the kitchenette for more room, as we will be staying for 7 nights. The only real complaint I seem to hear is room size, so if that is it, I think I will book it. Thanks everyone :goodvibes

We stayed at the Park Vue Inn last year, and in looking around researching for our next trip, I think we're going to stay there again this year.

Here are my reasons:

  • You absolutely cannot beat the location. It's fantastic.
  • The free breakfast is more than just pastries. We really loaded up on eggs, sausage, yogurt, and bagels to get us through the better part of the day. We brought snacks into the park, and then ate a late lunch/early dinner at the park as our one "splurge meal" each day..
  • Free parking - no sneaky fees to add up.
  • Free wifi.
  • We had two kids with us, and I really liked the bunkbed option. The room was small, but the bunk beds made such a difference in quality of sleep, with each kid having their own space. Depending on the price difference, I *might* go with three queens this year, but I did like that they offered the bunk beds.

I think it's a great choice. We were in a room facing the main road, but I never noticed a noise problem. Have fun!

My family has been staying at the Park Vue since I was a kid (over 25 years now) It sure has changed a lot!

The rooms are a little small and can be quite noisy but really we aren't going to Disneyland to spend a ton of time in the room! By the end of the day we are usually tired enough to fall asleep despite the noise.

The free breakfast is great, and you can't beat the location at all. The rooms and staff have always been great. We often see the same staff that was there on our trips in previous years too, which is kind of nice.

The pool isn't huge and doesn't look as fun as the HoJo's pool, but the kids always have fun in it. I haven't been in the winter months, but my sister has and her kids were in swimming every day with no complaints. They have a hot tub too which I always enjoy soaking my feet in after a long day at Disneyland.

My last trip we stayed in the rooms with the kitchenette. They aren't huge but we didn't feel overly cramped and that was with 2 adults and 5 kids. It was very, very nice having the stove and oven to cook with though. If you do get a room with a kitchenette you will probably want to bring your own utensils/plates/frying pan and cutlery. The kitchenette we had only had 1 saucepan and a plastic spoon that look questionable lol. We went to Wal-Mart and bought a few things so we could make use of the kitchen. We ended up leaving most of it, so maybe others have done the same and they are more stocked now.

It's not overly fancy but it's more than adequate and it's where my family will continue to stay.

Has anyone stayed in one of the 2 room suites with the 3 queen beds? Where are they located in the hotel? Thanks!
