I am trying to talk my DH into a cruise. Several affordable ones leavefrom Miami. But of course being in FL, I want to hit MK one day. How far of a drive is it from Miami to Orlando if I can talk him into this and one extra day at MK.

I'm gonna say that it's about 4.5 to 5 hours. We do the trip from Orlando to Palm Beach quite often and that is exactly 3 hours, with one short stop.

It takes me 4 hours from SW Orlando (near Disney) to the Port of Miami. Use the Turnpike, not I-95.

it was everybit of 4.5 hours in October when we took the turnpike was on the road by 43o and pulled up to the hotel close to 1015 and we stopped to eat at a rest station so it wasnt a long stop

I forgot to mention I don't drive like an old lady either.....

The drive takes me 3-3.5 hours from downtown Miami to Orlando on the Turnpike, with one stop. I average about 90-100 mph, which is entirely doable on the Turnpike, where pretty much the entire left lane is average 90-100mph. I've did it in just over 2.5 hours once - but, as I mentioned, I drive fast.

Thanks. I did see on googlemaps it says less than 4 hours too.

Yeah, if you have no value on your life or others lives! No wonder there are so many fatal car accidents in FL!

Truer words were never spoken!! I drove from WDW to Pompano Beach two years ago. Mapquest and my GPS both said to take the turnpike to Jupiter (I think that's what it was) and then pick up 95. Driving through Palm Beach nearly killed me!! I'm a fast driver, but not knowing where I'm going, but being in bumper to bumper traffic, moving at 85 mph, was pretty unnerving!! Then, when I got to Pompano Beach, my dad informed me the exit off the turnpike is about 2 miles from their condo!!!! Duh!
That drive took me 3 1/2 hrs, at about 85..with a rest stop for food and potty. It's another 45 mins to Miami from my dad's...so I would figure on it taking at least 4 hrs with no stops.

And drivers like you would be the reason for my stress two years ago. Like I said...I'm peppy but not when I'm not sure of where I'm going or where I'm exiting. 3.5 hrs from Orlando to Miami is waaaaay too fast. I will say that when I was on the turnpike, I was moving about 75-80...and not a ton of people were passing me.
