The title pretty much says it all ;) So used to booking 6 months in advance for WDW that I am freaking out about DLR ressies.

I am still not super excited about any of the restaurants I've read about :confused3 We will probably do the Celebration Roundup BBQ and also have certificates from restaurant.com for HoB and Fire & Ice - do they take ressies?
Also thinking of going to Carnation Cafe and maybe Storyteller's. Was planning on doing Blue Bayou but the prices are high and the menu does not look like a "must do". I am actually more excited about the counter service options than TS :)

At DLR they are called Priority Seating or PS. You can make them 60 days out. But I just called for Cafe Orleans the other day to make one for next week. Most places it isn't critical to call early. But for some like Blue Bayou, you should call at 60 days. Somewhere on here is another thread where people we saying which places should be called at 60 days. Fire and Ice is at Garden Walk and not DLR so you would have to call that place itself, because I don't know. I believe HOB in DTD can be made by calling the Disney Dining. Rainforest Cafe is not. Will you be getting a WOC dining package? If so, you should probably call at 60 days out for that to get your time choice. There are many places you can walk up and make a PS for that day.

Tony has been eating his way through DLR and blogging about it. Here is a recent review and you can find others at the bottom of the page.

The Dobies book 32-33 days out, because we call Vacation Planning to get our Fantasmic Dessert ressies, and book a couple of other meals at the same time. I have never not gotten what I wanted.

I have also called the same day when I wanted a change and been accommodated.

I've been able to call in the past and also make walk-up reservations (though I've never been to Napa Rose, arguably the hardest reservation in the resort). I imagine it depends on the time of year and where you're looking to eat. Some places, like Cafe Orleans and Wine Country Trattoria, are not as difficult to get reservations at a day or two in advance. I've also gotten a lunch reservation at Storytellers Cafe a day prior to eating there. It's best to call ahead, but you can sometimes get lucky on property.

Actually, they are no longer referred to as Priority Seatings. The Disneyland Resort changed its nomenclature on the subject some time ago in order to better align with the usage at the Walt Disney World Resort, as well as the broader industry.

Dining Reservations may be made for most restaurants and dining experiences at the Disneyland Resort (including most third-party locations in the Downtown Disney District) by ringing Disney Dining on 714 781-3463 at most 60 days before your desired dining date. The one exception to this rule is Rainforest Café in the Downtown Disney District; reservations may be made there by ringing them directly on 714 772-0413.

We always schedule seating at Carnation Cafe for breakfast, just to be safe. I called a day or 2 ago for Sunday August 21 and the earliest they had available was 940, which was about an hour later than I was hoping for. We will be a party of 6, so I know that party size makes a difference. That was the only time I have ever had any trouble.

You know, come to think of it, that is what she called it at Disney Dining when I called the other day. I thought it was odd she said reservation. I guess that's why, they changed it. Reservations makes more sense. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the responses. I think I just have to figure out where we would like to go and book it!

I am in charge of all planning but there are 7 of us going. For my family whatever I book will be fine but I want to make sure our friends are happy with the choices. I keep asking what they would like to do and they keep saying I am in charge

so funny how much of a DLR newbie I am :lmao:
