How far do you drive to get to the Fort??

I don't know, I love our mountains (VACAMPER and I are practically neighbors) but I think I'd move to Orlando if I could. Of course, I didn't grow up in these mountains either :confused3 Maybe I'm not quite as attached.

I guess I'm the same way. I grew up in Michigan by the water so in a way I'm kind of drawn to Florida because there is water all over the place and it's warmer. I'd love to vacation in the mountains but I have no need to live here. So Pixie, how do we arrange a move to Orlando :confused3 Any bright ideas?

We're about 1200 miles one way. Mapquest says 18.5 hours, but it's more like 20-21 in the real world. We have a motorhome, which makes it much easier with the kids. It's also nice not to have to coordinate the bathroom schedules of 6 females. We generally stop once for gas and once more for DH (the driver!) to get a bathroom break. We leave before the crack of dawn and they'll be comfortably sleeping for the first few hours. They then watch TV and DVDs, eat snacks, argue with each other (I swear they do this for entertainment!), play cards or board games and sleep some more. We break it into two days. On the way down we try to do 15 hours the first day and 5-6 the second. On the way home we try to split it in half.

640 Miles from TN for us. We usually take about 12 hours to get there figuring in the one hour we loose in time zones. We leave at 8 PM get there at 8 AM and check in. More often than not we get to go right to our site and set up then a quick shower and we are good to go!

We drive 800 miles one way. It takes awhile but we usually split it up between 2 days. The kids take portable DVD players, Nintendo DS, and books.
