How far do you drive to get to the Fort??

We're also about 21 hours away. I never mind the drive down. I hate the drive back though.

I'm 690 miles from the Fort. I leave around 5pm and get myself South of Atlanta by about 10:30 pm, then finish the drive the next morning and get to the Fort about 2pm.

Not sure the miles, but it takes us 2 and a half hours. Gosh, I dont know how some of you make these 15, 20, 25 hour road trips. I hate traveleing LOL! I love to camp but I have traveling.

Lucky Duck!! I would be at Disney 24-7 if I lived that close :) Do you do a lot of camping there over the year? That would be a dream,,, I'm so jealous!

We had to cancel one trip already but, we normally only go about 3 times a year but, we stay a week each trip. I am trying to swing the memorial day and July GG, those will be short trips. Now that we have the new camper, I think we are going to try and make it down more for weekends.

We are about 1150 miles - approximately 1100 miles too far!

We're a little North of Atlanta and it's 490 miles. Really not to bad of a trip. We usually go for 4 to 7 days at a time. DD

A little north of Houston, Tx. 992 Miles, 19 Hours. Darn if we didn't have to stop for gas and food it would be more like 16 hours. :rotfl: It's not too bad and besides if I was closer I would be there every weekend or at least once a month... I would play hooky from work... and neglect my clients and then I would have no work.....lessee....Hmmmm....anybody got a house for sale in Florida????
:rotfl2:

1,125 miles each way from NE Pennsylvania.

We drove down the weekend right after Hurricane Katrina in '05. Paid a high of $3.16/gallon for gasoline. Fortunately, we were there for 2 weeks, so the price came down quite a bit prior to our departure. Fuel for the entire trip was $889.00.

Seems downright cheap compared to today's price. That's why we are staying in value w/free dining. However- that stay at FW was the best vacation we ever had at WDW.

We're about 1200 miles away. We usually drive straight through to Columbia, SC, spend the night with family and continue on the next morning. But this August we'll have the camper so we are taking 95 with plans to stop one night in VA and one night around Savannah, GA. No hurry this time! We'll be bringing lots of movies, gameboys, etc. so the kids don't drive me crazy. I'm so happy that all of my boys are now out of 5 point harness carseats so they can do a little more for themselves! Last trip my arm was actually rubbed raw on the seat back because I had to keep reaching back to fetch things for King Kyle.

We are about 20 miles from the Fort (just south of Downtown Orlando). It never fails though, once we get in the car the girls are saying "How long till we get there!". Granted, that is really excitement I guess.

We are going to Stone Mountain, GA this summer which is about 450 miles one way so we'll make good use of the DVD's and other car games for that trip.

Stone Mountain is really nice!!! Make sure you have plenty of leveling blocks, etc, the sites are not level!!!

Thanks! We went last year and were lucky to be in one of the more level loops as I don't think we had enough blocks with us for some of the wooded sites. We drove around through some of the others and couldn't believe how unlevel some were and were amazed at some of the drop offs behind sites.

942.83 miles. I get so jealous of the people who live in Tampa or Jacksonville. Actually, I'm even jealous of the people who live in Georgia. But, can I justify moving to Florida just for Disney World ?!?

I don't know, I love our mountains (VACAMPER and I are practically neighbors) but I think I'd move to Orlando if I could. Of course, I didn't grow up in these mountains either :confused3 Maybe I'm not quite as attached.
