How expensive are groceries at resort?

We're ordering from Garden Grocer (not getting a rental car), just because my DH & DD have to have their Dr. Pepper. DP is not sold anywhere onsite, and 10 days is too long or them! Otherwise, we would probably just get what we need from the resort store.

Yes_ iam also wondering that. I know I have seen a Hess(I think) near BWV right before you turn in. Is there one closer to SSR? We do not have a car, so can I walk to it?

The DTD Hess is located right across the street from the PI bus stop. There is a designated crosswalk at that corner. They even have a pizza shop inside.

It is still a convenience store and gas station maybe the size of a 7-11 if that helps, maybe a little larger. It is bigger than the one on the corner of the BWV entrance and it has a small pizza place in the back.

That could quite possibly be the MOST valuable piece of information I have learned on this site! :teeth:

Is it worth it? Wasting precious vacation moments. Or should we just get a delivery from gardengrocer-do any of them deliver beer or wine? :scratchin

We thought GardenGrocer was great. Brian (the manager) arrived at SSR at the same time we did (about 7:30 p.m.) and met me in our room right after we checked in. I packed a lot of snacks, but I wanted to have fresh staples on hand like orange juice, milk, eggs, string cheese, yogurt, turkey, fruit, bread, butter, etc. Brian helped unpack everything and told us that he would be happy to make a second delivery for free during our stay if we needed anything else.

I've been there once before (maybe 5 years ago) but can't remember where it's at. Can anyone tell me where it is located?

Thanks? :)

We also packed the packables, then bought the perishables at the Screen Door. Limiting ourselves to eggs, milk and bread kept the cost down to "not worth the hour it would take to shop somewhere cheaper"

We had a horrible experience with a towncar grocery stop a few years back. And also discovered that we buy far too much at a grocery store. If we spend $30 at the Screen Door and eat all if it, its better than spending $50 at the grocery store and eating half of it.
