How early for Super Soap Weekend

Hi all,

We will be at Disney for Super Soap Weekend. Can anyone who was there last year tell me how early people line up outside the gates? I know MGM opens at 9am, but do they line up a LOT earlier - 7am - 6am????

now, this is going to sound crazy, but in 2000 my DH and i were in wdw during Super Soap weekend, and we got to MGM very very early (by 630 am - we'd heard rumors of there being a long line) that first day, and there was already a long line of people waiting at the MGM turnstiles! at 630 am!! and the first 2 people on that line were a mother & son who were there since 3 am!!! (i kid you not!) seriously!! she said they got there that early & brought 2 blankets to sit upon the ground - the castmembers left them there, but they weren't alone for too long, since more people joined them from 4 am on!! now THAT is a real FANatic!! i remember we were given wristbands for the "susan lucci autograph signing" while waiting on that line - haven't been back for Super Soap weekend since 2000, but i don't think you need to get there THAT early!

I noticed no difference in the line outside MGM when we arrived about 1/2 hr before the EE opening last Nov. At the rope-drop leading up to ToT, the line was only about 10 deep, the smallest rope-drop 'crowd' I've ever seen at any park. The actual rides and attractions were walk-ons all dey, didn't use FastPass once.

Yep, there are people that DO get there by 6:00am, I however, am NOT one of them! I am a Soap Fan but not a CRAZY Soap fan!

Check out the abc.com website for the Super Soap Weekend information. It states that fastpasses will be used for ALL autographs this year guaranteeing you an autograph if you get one, this might be to eliminate the long lineups and dissapointed fans.
I went to SSW in 98 and 99 and the lineups for autographs were enormous...I waited over an hour for Cameron Mathison...it was well worth it though!!!

Does anyone know where I can get the event schedule? I missed getting the ABC Soaps in Depth magazine last week and I can't get the info to come up at the ABC site.

I get to the schedules and other info re Super Soap through the ABC General Hospital home page. There is an icon there for 2003 Super Soap Weekend. Hope this works for you
