If the store video had been from a time period prior to that day, I could agree that it's value would be questionable. But I still think that the fact that it was taken 20 or so minutes before the fatal shooting and likely speaks to the state of mind of Brown at that time and makes it important. They should BOTH be protected from character assassination, but in fairness since that isn't going to happen the video is fair game and should be out there to show why the officer may have been justified.
To those that decry its release, I wonder how they would feel if it turns out that video exists that appears to show Wilson abusing a citizen of the town at some time in the past... would they insist it too should not be released? I know some were more than happy to point to past examples of problems with the FPD when buttressing their feelings that Brown was profiled/murdered.
I think we should wait to see that the coroner's report says, but with regard to the number of shots fired, I'm not a police officer, but I don't think they're trained to pause before each round to assess if another one is warranted before firing again. It's also quite easy to fire off seven rounds with a semi-automatic pistol, so I don't think that number tells us anything in and of itself. Again, I don't know if the killing was warranted or not, I just prefer to wait for all the information first. Now why he shot so many times is what makes no sense.
