How does vandalism and looting accomplish anything???

An ambulance was there, according to the police chief.

Jackson did not directly connect Saturday's robbery report with Brown's death. But he did lay out a timeline of events that puts the altercation with Brown occurring less than 10 minutes after a description of a suspect in the robbery had gone out.

That call about a Ferguson store came at 11:51 a.m., Jackson said; a description went out on the police dispatch at 11:52. And at 12:01, Wilson "encountered Michael Brown on Canfield Drive," the police chief said.

Jackson also said that two other officers, along with an ambulance that had been on a call nearby, responded to the scene where Brown was killed.

I guess the good citizens that are only looking for justice missed this on their video.

My question would be how long it took the ambulance to arrive & who called it. Though it is my understand that it would be called in as "priority 0" if he was thought to be obviously dead. That said, there is listed criteria for when the victim is obviously dead that includes things like decapitation.

My sticking point is still that the 4 witnesses, including Johnson's friend (who I'm willing to admit may be biased) tell one story while the officer tells a different one.

I haven't found a time for when the ambulance arrived, but it was already in the immediate vicinity, so I can't imagine it would take more than a couple of minutes.

And all of the witnesses, including the police officer, are biased. That's why it's so important for all of the actual evidence to be closely examined and a determination made on that basis as to whether or not charges should be filed.

How are the 2 women in the office building & the person who "live tweeted" the incident biased?

Seriously? You've been watching this for the past week - can you truly not see how invested the citizens of Ferguson are in ensuring that this is seen as a racially motivated execution? Do you truly believe those witnesses would feel safe in that town if they corroborated the officer's story?

They gave their statements before protests & looting began. Before anyone had heard of Michael Brown.

So what? Live white cop and dead black kid - anyone that's paid attention for the last 30 years knew what was going to happen.

Protests in the street
Looting
Sharpton and his ilk swooping in like vultures

It's like "Groundhog Day".

Careful, your prejudice is showing.

I see no facts. I see assumption & prejudice.

Luckily I have to work now.

Facts aren't prejudice.

And it's easy to assume something is going to happen when it happens almost every time the same situation arises.

Be honest - were you surprised when there were protests and looting? Were you surprised when Sharpton and Jackson showed up to fan the flames? Were you surprised when it was called an execution?

I wasn't, and I would venture to say that most people weren't, because there is a pattern that is pretty predictable.

Well, I guess that Capt Feelgood's kid-glove approach has proven to be a failure.

The governor has declared a state of emergency and instituted a curfew.

Actually he has no prejudice at all. None. It seems like you are biased yourself and not looking at this picture as a whole. Your thought process is The BIG BAD police officer vs the Gentle Giant that wouldn't hurt a fly. I'm sorry but I look at the whole picture and then make a determination. :sad2:

I found a radio interview dated today with a woman who claims she is a friend of Wilson and his significant other. Her name is Josie and she tells Wilson's side of the story.

Fascinating and if true means the forensic evidence should clearly show what really happened.

If the eyewitnesses accounts are correct and Brown was running away he should have at least one entrance wound in his back. If the officers accounts are correct that Brown had turned around and was charging him all the entrance wounds should be in the front.

The trajectory of the bullets should also tell us the distance between the 2, if it shows he was 20+ feet away when he was shot it lends credibility to the eyewitnesses accounts he was running away, if it turns out he was 10 feet or less it lends credibility to the officer that he was charging him.

just a few blocks away 6 stores were being looted, the residents and police were trying to protect the stores, but were called to leave, and let the looters have the stores.

This is infuriating and IMHO whoever made that call should be fired for failing to fulfill their oath. The police take an oath to uphold the law and the fact they stood by and watched crimes happen without doing anything should be reason to terminate whoever made that call. I know it's a tense situation but that's no excuse to ignore lawlessness.

I'm not saying that Brown didn't do it...BUT saying that since it had no connection to the reason the officer stopped him, even though it was first implied that it was, the video has nothing to do with the situation that happened.

It is 100% relative to what happened. Had Michael Brown not robbed a store 10 minutes earlier he would have no reason to attack the officer, the fact he had just robbed a store gives him a lot of reason to attack an officer. According to the link earlier the officer was driving away from them when the description of the robbers came in and he realized he was looking at them. Had they not robbed the store he would have kept driving and none of this would have even happened.

It's a tragedy in so many ways, Brown lost his life, Wilson's life will never be the same, and Ferguson is a town torn by both emotions and physical damage.

Soothing the mob or protecting the innocent....a no brainer, especially once the pot stirrers arrived. No way, cooler heads would prevail.

I feel sorry for the peaceful citizens of Ferguson. I can't imagine dealing with all of this.
