How does one get a Magic Band?

There is a lot to work through in this thread. Sorry this is going a bit OT, but the thread is all over the place.

1) Since you have you DME letter, you have very likely missed you're FastPass+ window at 60 days. If you are trying to get FP+ for hard to get experiences (7DMT and FEA), trying splitting up your party into smaller groups with overlapping return times.
2) Disneystore.com will not ship Magicbands to Canada (even if they did, shipping is outrageous). Also brick-and-mortar Disney stores do not sell ticket media any longer. At least in Canada. The only places that I personally know of that will sell you physical ticket media in Canada are CAA and Flightcentre.
3) @dan40 This is incredibly important. You did not buy tickets. You bought a ticket voucher that MUST be exchanged at a ticket window (the confirmation e-mail says Guests Services, but GS will tell you to go to a ticket window). You MUST have a Canadian Passport for every person you bought tickets for in order to activate the ticket voucher into a ticket. I cannot stress this point enough.
4) Please read you DME letter carefully and have the letter handy when you land at MCO. I just looked up the likely WestJet flight you will be on. You land at 7:05am, as long as your yellow luggage tags are on your luggage when they land in Orlando the bags will be transported to the resort and onward to your room. Please be mindful when you are dropping of your luggage at YVR. They do not have as many flights to Orlando or as many Disney travelers. Gate agents may try to take the tags off. A direct flight should be alright but just be aware.
5) Not getting your MagicBands shipped to you is actually going to work in your favour. Because it looks like you missed a few deadlines because of TA issues, you should still be able to customize bands as they don't get printed and sent to the resort until a few days before the trip. You will get a notice that your bands could be sent to your resort at any time but it is not going to be at the posted 'customize by' date on the MDE account.

I hope you have a great time. I suspect you are about a month out. It goes by quickly.

I have 80 days left until my vacation, and I can't book any FP+ until I reach 60 days. The app and website won't let me until my travel date gets closer.

Disney Store is out, I personalized my Magic Band a few minutes ago, and I get to pick it up at the check-in counter at CBR.

Correct, I always have my passport with me, and I will be taking it to the Will Call desk at the Park entrance.

This is not relevant to me, I'll be taking 1 small carry-on piece of luggage with me, so I don't even need the tags.

See above, I'm picking the MB up at the hotel.

Nope... my departure date is April 21 on a red-eye, which leaves Vancouver at 10:30 PM. You were about right with the time, only arrival time is 07:35 (+3 hrs time difference from West Coast to East Coast). Thanks for the nice wish! :)

I just wanted to update you all on my reservation question. When I received my DME luggage tags today, I hadn't opened the envelope until just now (about 5 hrs later), and in the top right hand corner of the note, it has my CBR reservation number! So I went to the MDE website and entered it into the system to link it to my account, and it WORKS!!!!

Thanks to all for your suggestions, I'm now able to make reservations and personalize my trip! Looks like I won't be getting any sleep tonight!

I'm a travel agent. Disney changed their reservation number system a couple months ago. So all confirmation numbers (at least on package reservations) changed to starting with a 1. We travel agents weren't sent the new numbers. I found out because I always check my client's reservations often to make sure everything looks good and to make any updates and it said their reservation # didn't exist when I knew it did. So we logged in to their My Disney Experience account and I found the new one. Then I called Disney and got the rest of my other client's new reservation numbers. If you booked prior to this, he/she was possibly wasn't aware of the change and was still giving you the old number they got when they booked it for you.

Aha. Many/most people don't get their dme info until closer in. Lesvert was going by that in assuming your trip was very very close.

Isn't that interesting! Is it still 12 digits?

OP, I would fire your TA. They've been useless to you. That's unfortunate.

I currently have both a room only and a package reservation. My room only res is a 12-digit starting with a 4. My original package res is 8 digits - letters and numbers, but when I look in DME it's 8 digits, numerical only, beginning with a 1.

It is now 8 digits for packages. No more letters. The room only # still 12 digits and the ones that I have booked lately start with 4. From what I've read on the TA forums is that there were a lot of panicked guests and and agents for a few days before they let everyone know about the changes made to their system. "Magical Enhancements" you know ;) Luckily, I found out the morning after it changed so I only had a couple minutes of panic LOL. It would have been helpful if Disney had let everyone know in advance. Even a CM I spoke with said the same thing because from what he said they had to deal with a lot of irate callers.

The OP said "I didn't make my reservation through Disney.com but did order my park hopper passes there" so it doesn't look like the change in package confirmation numbers is relevant for him.

OP, I would contact my TA and read off the Disney confirmation number you got access to in your dme info! "This is what I needed". And explain what all you would be missing out on (customized mbs, online check in, FPs 60 days out) because they couldn't figure out how to get you the info.

Hi all,

I am Canadian too and I bought with a MYW Package (with the discount tickets for Canadians). Everything is linked on MDE (my Disney resort (ASSR), my tickets assigned to each member of my family and my MagicBands). Am I supposed to receive an email with vouchers? Or will they just confirm that I am Canadian at check-in and my tickets are activated ?

At check in I assume they will ask for ID to prove your citizenship.
