A recent discussion about companies using the chance to dress down on certain days as an opportunity to raise funds for charity got me wondering about what is the norm at your workplace?
I usually wear jeans, a casual shirt and sneakers.
But then my office is 600 or so miles from my customers and management, and I have no interaction with the public.
My husband's office (major corporation) dress code is business casual with jeans on Friday, but they're often allowed to buy tickets for extra casual days for charity.
We are supposed to dress in business attire Mon-Thurs and business casual on Fri (no fundraising involved). But I've noticed that they are letting folks dress more casual now as long as it's not denim or t-shirt casual
I alternate between Business formal and business casual. I never wear suits but I do go back and forth between dresses, nice pinstripe slack, and comfy khakis. Just depends on my mood.
Between casual and business casual. We are allowed to wear jeans - as long as they are NOT blue. I hate colored jeans so I stick to khakis, capri's, skirts, etc.
Today I am wearing some black drawstring pants (light weight), a pale pink 3/4 sleeve v-neck top, and a light weight black sweater over it. And black flip flop type shoes.
Pretty much, as long as you aren't in blue jeans/shorts...you are golden in my department.
We don't have interaction with customers in my office either so I usually wear jeans, a t-shirt or sweater. The only thing we really aren't supposed to wear are hats or flip flops.
Depends on where I am working. Days when I go into the office its either business casual or business formal depending on the clients I am seeing (except on Friday, that is dress down day for the office). The admins are expected to do business casual - we don't require that they spend the bucks to buy more expensive stuff unless they choose to do so.
When I am working out of my home office, I get out of the shower and put on clean pajamas. Right now I am wearing a pair of pajama pants, a flannel shirt, and a ratty T-Shirt.
Jeans and a nice-ish shirt every day. I work for a bank but am offline doing research all day, so I have no interaction with customers and basically no interaction with vendors except for the few who occasionally come into the office. I just got hired full-time, though (no more contractor!), so as soon as all of my transitional training is done, I'll be working from home and fully intend to show up to work in either a bathrobe or PJs most days of the week.
