How do you transfer Resorts when splitting stays?

We just booked at SSR for a couple days and then Poly for the rest based on availability.

If you do a split stay, how do you usually change Resorts?

I know there are Taxis...but I want some feedback from the DIS.

TIA!

You can call or talk to bell services to have them pickup the luggage at SSR and bring it to the Poly

Then take a bus to MK (or any other park) for the day.

Others choose to do a pool day, or you could go to SSR then bus to Poly.

I drive, so we pack up the car for most luggage transfer, and then go to a park.

Now with online checkin you get a text when your room is ready, so there is no reason to get to the next resort right away.

Thanks! I thought I had read about using Bell Services but wasn't sure...

Yes, and you can call or stop by bell services a day or so in advance to make a pickup "reservation" which may help since SSR is a late resort requiring them to drive to your building in a golf cart.

We always do split stays because we visit for at least 2 weeks each time. This is what we do:

On moving day, we normally go shopping or to a park, something that will keep us 'occupied' until tea-time (4pm or so).
We pack up the night before and in the morning call bell services to ask for our luggage to be collected. They will ask where you want it transferred to, give you the usual 'receipt' and advise you that the luggage will not be available at the new resort until after 3-4pm.
Once the luggage is gone, we head out for the day before checking into the new resort later that afternoon.
Once we are in the room, we call bell services and they bring the luggage up.

In March, our friends are doing a split stay and we are joining them for the second half. They intend to hang out at the resort and hopefully get a room earlier than allotted check-in time with a view to doing some laundry as they will have already been there a week. I think they plan to get a cab to the new resort since they would obviously like to have access to their dirty clothes prior to it arriving via bell services, if they are given a room early.

I just changed resorts 3 days ago, and I did as I always do. When I was leaving to go to the park, I brought my suitcase and dropped it off at Bell Services for transfer. At some point in the park, I received a text that my new room was ready and what the room # was. So when I was done with the park, I just took the transportation to my new resort, went up to my new room and called for my suitcase. For me, it was super-easy since I know BCV and when the text came with the room #, I knew where it was. The map they sent with the text was just a general Yacht and BC area map, so for a newbie, finding the room may be a bit less easy.

I drive down so for me it's easy. First I pack two bags and I have a hanging toiletry bag that never gets unpacked so that just gets transferred from one bag to the other. I do on line check in for both resorts and put early check in as a priority since I really don't care about anything else. I tend to self park if I'm solo so I just leave my bag in my car when I arrive and go check in. If my room is ready, I go grab my bag if not, I just go to a park and come back whenever I want to, not always when I get the text, then grab my bag. If I'm with DS, we tend to valet park and just give our bags to BS. On moving day, I go check out and drive over to resort #2 and check in. I'm an early riser so I'm usually at resort #2 around 7:30 or so, if it's that early I'll grab breakfast then go to whatever park, then same as first day.
