How do you spread the pixie dust?

We just got back from 8 fantastic days and wanted to share and give other ideas how to spread the pixie dust at WDW.
1. Share any extra fastpasses (dd too short or my parents not feeling like riding) with some group on their way into the stand-by entrance. You should see the smiles on their faces when the stand-by wait is over 45 minutes!
2. Brought extra graham crackers and chocolate bars for other families during the marshmallow roast to make smores
3. DD wanted a big princess balloon and it perfect for spotting our stroller, but we explained from the beginning that we were not able to bring back home since we flew to Disney. She picked out a princess on our last park day to give the balloon to, and the little girl was not a English speaker was so happy that she gave dd a big hug

We have always shared unused FP - and find that we seem to receive as many gifted to us as we share with others somehow!

We usually bring enough glow sticks to share.

I don't try to listen in on other's conversations but sometimes you just can't help it since you are all crammed into line queues, etc... if I hear someone really struggling to understand something I try to help them figure it out. Like when the kid in line ahead of us at RNRC started freaking out & wanted to leave the line & the dad & grandad were trying to quickly figure out how to handle him & still let his older brother enjoy the experience (we were almost to the loading area) - I suggested they try child swap since they'd waited through the entire line already & he was clearly freaking out & not going to get on that coaster.... relief in dad's eyes said it all!

Walking through the parking lot I overheard a huge family discussing how lost they were (already! Hadn't even made it to the end of their parking row!!) because they didn't understand the parking lot, couldn't find their aisle/row#, the tram system, etc. I gave the a 101 lesson on the walk from the car to the gate - pointed out how close we were & how it would likely take much more time to unload their 3 strollers for a tram ride vs. walking, how to prepare for bag check, etc...... stuff like that.

When my kids were little we used to rent a Disney stroller at the theme parks. We would usually leave the parks before supper and, instead of returning the stroller, we would offer it to another family with little ones who were on foot. We liked to think that it would make the evening nicer for that family and it didn't cost us anything at all. Win-win!

We like to bring extra glow sticks with us at night time to share with others. You get a lot of smiles for just pennies.

Also bring extra fruit snacks or cookies with me & share them with others who may have small children that need a little pick-me-up when standing in long lines.

We would often give out disney pins, the trader types.

I also ordered mini glass slippers, and if I ever saw a little girl dressed up as a princess, I would give her one, and ask if she lost it. (Do a simple google search for glass shoe favors, and a ton will pop up. I end up paying about 50c a piece for them)

One year I found a ton of princess wands for 20c each, I bought 100 and gave them away to little girls.

I picked up some glow bracelets and Disney princess stickers to take. I've also got a bunch of pins that I bought to see how trading works, but I may end up giving some of those away too.

When my 2 friends and I were at Disney in August, I brought glow in the dark necklaces and flowery glow in the dark necklaces and we wore them with "pride" however, we gave them away to children on the bus on our way back to the resort:)

To keep my kids entertained I would bring little notebooks and small 4 packs of crayons or little pens and stickers. Each child and myself would have a extra couple sets a day and we would give them out to other little kids who were antsy in line or didn't look too happy on the bus. It not only made the other kids get a big smile but it made mine feel good too.

Last year I brought about ten porcelain dolls with me and ( after checking for approval from Mom ) gave them to little girls. I had purchased them for my God-daughter when she was very little. She is 15 now and has NEVER played with a doll :confused3: You could just tell how thrilled they were. Some of the children have lots of soveiners and some of them get only the trip and their memories . It was nice to know that I could give ten little girls a memory of their own pixie dust .

Last year an early morning tour guide pixie dusted DD with a little plastic princess figurine at MK. DD was beaming afterward, and I'm sure the little princesses who revived your glass slippers or wands did the same.

In 2010, my DD and I had breakfast at the castle. We were each given a wand. My daughter decided to bring hers back for her Boyfriend's little girl. I had no idea what I was going to do with mine.

We were riding the bus back to our resort and next to me sat a father with the cutest little red head you have ever seen. She was so cute and funny. She told her Dad one hotel was broke because it had a hole in it. I am sure everyone here knows which one she was talking about.

So, I pulled out that wand and gave it to that little girl. The look on her face was priceless. Her brother stated she had other wands at home. Mom informed him that she does but that one will be her favorite. They were not going to eat at the castle this trip.

I believe the look on that little red head's face is what Disney is all about. I will never forget.

I want to take my grandson to Disney and I love the idea of the glass slippers. I hope I can talk him into giving them to a little girl.

Thanks for all of the ideas.

We gave away FPs to Test Track that were about to start in 5 minutes because my little girls were done for the day. Given that all of hte FPs for the day were gone, the family we gave them to were VERY happy to receive them. I was just paying it forward from the time a family gave me their TSM FPs. Man, my kids that day were so thrilled.

Please don't have a strange child a toy. What a way to confuse the child about safety and not being too friendly with people they don't know.

My husband has extra trading pins, stickers, or buttons in his pocket. If he sees a child that needs an extra pick me up he will hand them out. If we are in a long line he makes a game of it. He will hand off something to child and tells them that every time they meet up in line to hand it back to him. He always make sure that they get it at the end. On one ride he had 5 kids doing it. Everyone around us thought it was a great idea.

Okay, first of all, it's not like you go up to a random kid and give it to them. You talk to the parents first. Second of all, are you aware that the 'stranger danger' campaign was one of the worst things that could happen to child safety? Yes, even the agency that comes out with faces on milk cartons says so. Here's a good link, said better than I can:

Everyone needs to use a little common sense. Is any child going to be unattended in a place like disney? Highly unlikely. You start a general conversation. Most of the time we hand out presents, it was on the bus, with the kids seated on their parents lap. Don't be a buzzkill. Just use common sense.

Where do you find the little glass slippers? That's a great idea.

These are such wonderful ideas!

We like to hand out glow sticks at the fireworks and parades, mostly to kids around us. I always volunteer to take photos of people or help people who look disappointed with their photos - sometimes they don't know how to use their camera so I'll help them find settings that will give good results, particularly at night time events like fireworks and the electrical parade (in DL). We've given away FPs too, once to a family who tried to pay us for them because they just came from Universal Studios, where their 'skip the lines' system isn't free. They were pretty happy to receive them. We taught them a little bit about FP too. We've also bought some low value gift cards or our gift cards with only a few dollars left and given them to people in line at the shops. It may only be $5 but it sure makes people happy!

Spreading the magic is a win-win, as we always feel good inside when adding a little magic to someone else's day.

Not really "magic" but I carry around individually packaged wet wipes, and I'll offer them to parents with a child who has dripped ice cream or some other food all over their hands and face.
