I really hate my self for it but I find myself saying fer a lot of the time. I don't even realize it. But I assume it is a by product of living in Texas pretty much my entire life
I agree. It kind of depends on the use. Standalone it's always "for" through. But yeah, if you might describe something as a "Twofer" then it's "fer" but this is knowingly mispronounced slang.

I must live in the wrong part of Texas, hang with the wrong kind of Texans or (what I should blame it on ) I got it from my Mom how has a real North Carolina twang
