How do you pronounce edamame?

my guess would be: ed (like the name) a (like open wide) ma ( like mama) and me (like the month of May)
i'm probably way off... :rotfl:

ed-uh-mom-eh ,same thing you typed, but say "a" as in I bought "a" book.

Cool, i was one off...not bad for a guess... :rotfl:

Not 100% sure, but I think it's spelled edemame. All e's sound like our short e, all a's sound like the a in Ma.

that sounds even better. :)

It's eh-dah-ma-meh -all e's sound the same, as do all a's, with the OP's spelling which it turns out is correct.

ok thanks everyone. That sounds right. I had heard it before, but I couldn't quite remember! Bought some today, never had before, hope it's good!

Ditto Jackie's answer.

How are you preparing it? I like to boil mine in lots of Hawaiian salt. I know, most of you probably don't have "Hawaiian" salt, but I think if you can find rock salt, or some other coarse salt, that should be good! And if you over-boil, they'll turn out mushy.

I think you can also microwave them, but I prefer good old-fashioned boiling.

I microwave until hot.
Sprinkle liberally with kosher salt.
Gobble up.
I always say "It's better than popcorn" (DH does not agree) a great source of protein too.
ummmm edamame.
