How do you prepare your tuna salad?

I'm going to try this...it sounds great! I use mayo, onion, celery and dill, but that gets boring.

Well I used to use that same boring recipe too, and still do sometimes, but one day I typed "best ever tuna salad" into google, and that's what came up. I think the original recipe actually calls for curry powder and a few other things, and it doesn't use lemon (but I like lemon with fish, so I add it).
I'm always typing "best ever ..." into recipezaar, allrecipes, or just google. People think I'm a good cook, but I'm just a good googler. :)

I mix mine with just plain mayonnaise. Sometimes I will add celery, but that's rarely.

I am the same - Miracle Whip only. I can't believe the fancy-pants tuna salad some of you make! Thanks for the ideas - I'll have to try some.

I use tuna, equal parts mayo and ranch dressing, diced red onion, a couple cloves of garlic, diced celery and pepper. :)

Solid pack albacore in water, Kraft may (or Best Foods) real mayo--not low-fat--and celery. Put it on wheat bread with lots of lettuce and sliced tomato.

Most of the time - tuna and mayo

Sometimes - add chopped apples and pecans to mayo/tuna

Best - Italian olive salad with tuna

Italian olive salad comes in a jar. It is used for muffaletta sandwiches. It's olives and a bunch of other stuff and seasonings with olive oil. Available everywhere in New Orleans (probably even at drug stores and convenience stores). It's kind of a staple here - but can usually be found in other locations if you look for it.

tuna, italian dressing (i am allergic to mayo), diced peppers, diced red onion, celery, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper

When I usually make tuna it is just grated onion, mayo and black pepper. If I want to get fancy, I make sort of a tuna waldorf salad: tuna, mayo, chopped apple, diced celery and walnuts! It is so yummy over salad greens!

yah, I do not like all that stuff in my tuna!! I have to have the "gold" can of white albacore tuna, and I use some light mayo, no pickles, no mustard, no eggs in it (yuck, I cannot even conceive that idea).....sometimes I eat it out of the can.

so either just mayo or plain!!! no need to try to cover the taste!

I tend to go to Subway because if I make it at home, this is what happens:

Get out can of tuna.

Open with can opener.

Cat comes running into the room and weaves himself in and out of my ankles until I trip.

Open fridge to get out mayo.

Kids come running in, thinking I'm getting ice cream out, and they freak out.

Cat continues to weave in and out of my ankles and I trip again.

Try to pour out tuna juice into sink and kids are still freaking out for ice cream.

Comments start flying from my daughter about how bad the tuna stinks.

Son grabs the cat's tail, cat freaks out, jumps up on counter.

Son grabs can of tuna and spills it.

Cat jumps down and starts eating tuna.

It's really just easier for me to mosey over to Subway and let them make a mess. :cloud9:
:lmao: you could sooo be the next Erma Bombeck ! If you are too young to know the name google her I just gave you a big compliment you painted such a picture I was right there in the kitchen with you!

For me I rarely eat tuna but when I do it has to be made with Miracle Whip, some diced celery & onions, some diced carrots and a hard boiled egg. I also add the slightest bit of dry mustard for a little kick

:thumbsup2 I do use Ranch dressing instead of mayo, but I'm really boring with my tuna. Now chicken salad...that's when I put the fruits and nuts in it. I'm not sure why.....
