and peeled 4 fresh cloves of garlic. (Yes, it takes forever to peel it by hand, and your fingers will smell like garlic all day, but fresh is best.)
Next time, instead of peeling it like that, do this. Lay the clove on the counter. Take a big chefs knife (or any knife w/ a wide blade - meat cleaver, etc) and lay the flat part of the blade on top of the clove and give it a good bang w/ your hand. It will split the peel and the peel will slip right off. Learned that on Food Network!
