How do YOU fp+?

Before our first trip to Disney as a family, I read some guide books that suggested two things I've always used in my planning process:
1.) "The hotel swimming pool," was the response of children to the question of favorite part of their Disney vacation.
2.) Most children have a four-hour window of time to give to a Park before wanting a serious alternative.

...

So true for kids of all ages! I remember taking a big 3 family trip to Sesame Place with both my brothers and their families when all the kids were toddlers, DD was 3. She LOVED Elmo more than anything. We spent our first day at Sesame and they had a blast. The next morning we were having an after breakfast swim in the hotel pool and it was time to go back to Sesame. All 3 toddlers were crying. DD was sobbing "But I don't want to go to Sesame Street, I just want to swim!" My sister-in-law and I looked at each other and just about drowned we were laughing so hard. Could have saved all our money and gone to the local Holiday Inn.

DD is 12 now and she would still rather swim than just about anything.

I have a 3 year old and 5 year old so we leave during mid day and go back to the hotel for a nap.

So our FP strategy is to book one from 11-12 then go back to the resort for lunch/nap, then go back to the park about 6 and we have two Fps for 6-7 and 7-8.

We hit the park at RD so we get plenty of rides in the morning. In the evening we have our two FP+s then we'll do attractions with shorter waits (transit authority, Laugh floor, stitch, carousel of progress) but since we're heading back to the resort about 7:30 or 8 the two evening FP's are really enough by themselves.

It's so helpful to see how everyone else does it.

I'm really undecided if we want them for before our break or afterwards. I'm leaning toward before and then try for a few secondary attraction FPs for later. My thinking is if we don't get any good
FPs for later we at least can enjoy the park at night atmosphere, MSEP and Wishes. Of course it all depends on what time/if we can get 7DMT at our 30 day window.
