{shrug} I don't recall being ever splashed in the face with toilet water when I flush. I stand sideways, use my hand closest to the handle, flush and turn away at the same time. I certainly don't lean over and gape with my mouth open watching the results!

Just a question for the foot flushers ... if you use your food to avoid getting a mouthful and the spray is really that bad doesn't it get all over your leg?

I don't bring food into the bathroom with me.

For comparison I posted the same question on a UK Disney board and the results were;

Hand; 53.77%
Hand, protected; 35.85%
Elbow; 3.77%
Foot; 4.72%
Other; 0%
Who Flushes; 1.89%

EW. I can't believe so many use their hand. Always my foot.

If for whatever reason I cannot use my foot, I will not flush because there is NO WAY I will use my hands. I even use my foot to open and close the door and latch it.
I sit on the seat but usually with two toilet seat covers. No seat covers=squating over the toilet.

It's not the germs themselves that bother me as much as thinking about the fecal matter on my bum and hands. I also don't want toilet water to splash back at me so I usually open the door before I flush so I can get away from some of those stronger toilets.

Why be careful if I am just going to wash my hands again? Well many of the motion sensored sinks do not have hot enough water to kill any germs, everyone has tiny cuts on their hands that I don't want someone's fecal matter in and well, would you lay your head on dog poop even though you could wash it right off???

Ok, first of all you lock and unlock the door with your foot???? Seriously?:scared1:

#2 (so to speak:lmao: ) I am gonna let you know I have been a nurse for 25 years. I have always worked around THE most infected patients. And I can tell you I have gotten infected poop (etc) on my hands more than my fair share. I have never gotten infected ever. Every ID RN worth her weght will tell you that it s the friction of washing not the heat of the water that will kill the germs. My guess is that the water would have to be near boiling to kill them off.

Boy....this thread is enlightening....:rotfl2:

I cannot imagine how you lock and unlock the door with your foot. Many of the washroom doors around here have circular locks - you have to turn the lock mechanism in a half-circle to get it to lock. How on earth would you do this with your foot? I'm trying to picture me hopping around on one leg trying to get my foot up high enough and then somehow locking it. I think by the time I got the door locked that way I'd have wet my pants.

TP

Maybe the foot lockers have taken Advance Kegals Training along with years of THigh Master ;) training.....

I admit I am short, and my arm reach isn't very much....but I have never had to protect my face from the toliet. I am just trying to visualize this.

They would have to be like,what...3'9" toget splash froma toilet.

Either that or they have their face smushed into the toilet watching to see if their loaters go clockwise or counterclockwise.

:lmao: ;)
