How do you discontinue service from AOL?

We have AOL as our ISP at home. $23.90 a month.

Our local phone company, Iowa Telecom can provide internet access for $9 a month. Saves us $180 a year.

So, how do we get in touch with AOL to disconnect them? We don't have a billing statement; we had an automatic monhtly VISA charge from AOL.

When you log on, go to billing and they will give you a phone number to call to cance. It really sucks that they don't let you do it on line.

My recollection is there is a link in the menus at the top. Maybe in Tools. I just clicked on it, sent my notice and it was done. Try Keyword, Billing.

Good luck cancelling -- I've heard that cancelling AOL is more difficult than pulling your own wisdom teeth out!!

I just called 1-888-265-8008 and cancelled mine a couple of months ago. I had heard it was a nightmare to do so, but I found it relatively simple.

I've heard that AOL is alot like Raid's Roach Motel...you can check in...but you can't check out!

Be careful. When I cancelled mine they kept right on billing me month after month and I never noticed. WHen I did and called I got a check for $72.00 immediately.

Also, be sure to uninstall AOL from your computer. If you accidentally log onto AOL, they'll think you are re-activating your account and start billing you again.

We were lucky. Wasn't too much of a hassle to cancel ours. I don't remember the number I called, though. Good luck!
