How do you countdown for your Disney trip?

I've done and am doing a couple of different things.

1. Construction paper chains. 2 of them one for the livingroom (so we can all see it) and one for my DS10's room.

2. I have a widget on my Mac that has a to the second a countdown currently? 2 weeks 6 hours 8 minutes and 7 seconds

3. Write it down on the family calendar about every 20 days or so.

4. When DS was 6 I put the days on small pieces of paper and each day he threw one out.

Have a magical day,
Anna

I saw that download (Your number 2) Anyone know if they have one for windows? I wanted it so bad lol.

We have a lime green piece of poster board. We made a title at the top that says "Disney World 2006". Every day, we each write something on that day that we love about Disney, be it a ride, character, snack, entertainment... just anything that comes to mind.

Last year we put a Disney sticker on the calendar each day, but whoever didn't get to put a sticker that day always felt left out. This way, we are all involved every day.

It's always fun to see what the others are going to write. It also gives me a clue as to what is really important to my kids - the first things on the calendar are the things that they always talk about.

How do we count down? Sloooooooooowly and painfully!!! Ha ha

I have the mousetrack on my computer.

117 days to go. :smooth:

I saw the great idea for the countdown clock that someone posted..retirement, etc.. Can't believe Disney has not made one of these yet... they would really sell..
Anyway, found some that said for a due baby, retirement, birthday, etc. but they had one that was blank you could order and it includes a template to make your own covers so they are interchangeable. So of course, I ordered #3, ..why not??? Figured I'd decorate one with Disney stuff from scrapbooking supplies, then it can be changed to other vacations, holidays, etc. :thumbsup2

Oh cool! Where did you find the blank one? I also like the powderroom idea and the hidden mickey one. You all are so clever.

All I have is in my Outlook calendar, each night at the time our plane is scheduled to leave it pops up saying such and such days until we leave for the world.

That wigit thing for Macs sounds neat. I also wonder about a Window version.

Thank you Justplaingoofy! Very cool. I like that you can use their template for different faces or just add 3-D scrapbooking stickers. So neat!

My sister and I have done the paper chain every year. each on with the number of days and a disney attraction on it. Mostly Magic Kingdom rides cause thats our favorite park  But our last trip up to Orlando required something better because we were doing every park. So i got creative and made one that moves as you count down the days. I decorated construction paper with "Walt Disney World" at the top and a countdown with stars, made a little tear all the way across from 20-1 and then stuck a push pin in it with a mickey head glued to the top of the push pin. we slid it over one day every day until the last. it was fun watching it move and get closer to the trip.

the kids that i babysit for took me to disney with them feb 2005....they were 3 and 6..we taped 3 pieces of poster board together and got a bunch of the mickey head paint samples from home depot...we wrote numbers on each and decorated them to count down!

DS16 said to try Yahoo, they make some. Also, if you're of a mind to pay for confabulator. There is a free trial, after that's over you can still use it for free but it leaves a message up. Hope this helped.

Have a magical day,
Anna

thanks everyone for the ideas! I loved so many of them! I don't know which ones to use maybe I'll use all of them! :goodvibes

the main way we count down for our WDW trip is with the countdown clocks i have on each of our computers. since my 2 DSons are both teens they are both online everyday and often they will tell me 28days left etec. we also have a large calendar that we mark off and the day we leave is marked with one of those lime green mickey heads. there must be a lot of Dis fans at our local home depot. the lime green mickey heads are often empty or close to empty every time i am there
